story of Dom and Elijah coming together (ahem!). Here’s my version.
Part 1 - Exploration
Elijah Wood scratched absently at the thin dusting of facial
hair along his jaw as he watched the credits of the movie that had just ended
scroll up his television screen. He couldn’t remember anything about the
movie, even the title. He’d spent the whole time it was on thinking about the
man sitting next to him on the couch.
Lij glanced over, to where Dominic Monaghan sat completely
at ease, leaning back into the corner of the overstuffed couch. One of his
legs hung over the edge. The other was bent at the knee, its bare foot nearly
touching Elijah’sgh. gh. Elijah would almost swear he could feel the heat
emanating from the bare skin. It made him feel…strange.
Because Elijah was straight. At least, he’d always thought
so. Sure, he’s noticed how good some guys looked his whole life, but he was an
actor, appearances were important to him. When he’d first met Dom almost two
years before, he’d found himself checking him out often, but Elijah told
himself it was just keeping tabs on the competition; there weren’t nearly
enough cute girls in Wellington, he didn’t want to lose any candidates to a
cute co-star. Then Dom had become a close enough friend to confide that he was
gay. Elijah had passed off the thrill this news had given him as relief, but
recently he had begun to realize it might be something more.
During the shoot, there had been so much time and
opportunity to be together, to flirt unconsciously, to just enjoy each other’s
company. Now that was all over. No more spending hours in the makeup trailer
laughing. No more silly pranks. No more discussing music for hours. No more
easy excuses to touch each other under the guise of fixing a costume. If
Elijah wanted to see Dom now, it would take planning and effort.
And he had just realized today that it was worth it. And
what he’d like to do with whatever time they did manage to find. That was why
he’d invited Dom over “to watch movies and just hang out”. But the day was
passing. If he was going to do anyg abg about these confused feelings of his,
he had to do it soon.
What would Dom want me to do? Elijah wondered, glancing at
his attractively relaxed companion. The credits would end soon, it would be
time to decide on the next movie. Whatever it was needed to happen soon. Fall
back on childishness, came the answer. Elijah smiled to himself as a plan
formed.
Deceptively, Lij raised a hand to scratch at his ear, then
let it fall back onto his thigh. Slowly, very slowly, he let it slide off onto
the couch, right next to Dom’s tingtingly bare foot. Making sure he was
looking away, Lij let one finger flick out, brushing against the tender arch.
“Hey,” Dom said suddenly, sitting up a little, his foot
jerking away.
“Huh?” Elijah asked innocently, looking at his friend as
though he had no idea what had just happened.
Dom hesitated a moment, then shrugged, letting his foot
slide back to its previous position. “Whadaya think of the movie? Needed
better transitions, yeah?”
“Oh, yeah, exactly,” Elijah agreed, though he had no idea
what Dom was talking about.
“And the special effects,” Dom went on. “Imagine what Peter
could have done with that dog.”
“Woulda been amazing, I’m sure,” Lij nodded some more.
Then, as Dom turned to retrieve his bottled water from the side table, he
flicked his finger out again.
“Umph,” Dom grunted, nearly spitting out his sip of water.
He turned suspicious eyes on Elijah, who was once more looking innocent. “You
did that on purpose,” Dom accused.
“Did what on purpose?”
“Touched my foot.”
“Why would I do that?” Elijah thought he had the forehead
wrinkle right, but was having trouble keeping himself from smiling.
“I dunno.” Dom watched Lijah carefully as he took another
sip, then closed the bottle and set it down on the floor. “So, what’ll we
watch next?”
“Well, let’s see,” Elijah replied, and started to stand up.
But before he knew it, he was falling back onto the couch, a sudden, intense tickling
sensation at his waist. “Hey!”
“What?” Dom said sarcastically. “I didn’t do anything.”
But he didn’t even try to hide his smirk.
Elijah didn’t say anything, just sat back staring at Dom,
smiles growing on both their faces. Then Lij lunged.
Dom was ready for him, his hands coming up to protect
himself. Lijah put up a good fight, but it wasn’t long before they reached a
stalemate, Elijah laying on top of Dominic, his forearms caught in Dom’s strong
hands, both of them breathing heavily.
“I’m not letting go,” Dom said warningly.
“I hope not,” Lijah said, his voice soft and promising. In
this position, his fingertips could just reach Dom’s chest. Deliberately, he
caressed the skin he’d so recently been assaulting.
“Lij, what…” Dom’s eyes flicked to the petting hands, then
back to Elijah’s warm, smiling face. “I thought you didn’t…”
“I didn’t,” Elijah acknowledged, letting himself really look
at Dom as he never had before. “But now I do.”
Dom looked too hopefully shocked to move, so Elijah decided
it was up to him to make the next move. Leaning down, he let his slightly
parted lips meet Dom’s.
Both men’s eyelids fluttered closed as they enjoyed the
soft, almost chaste kiss. Without realizing it, Dominic released his hold on
Lij’s wrists, allowing the younger man’s hands to press flat against his chest.
“Lij,” Dom said dreamily when the kiss broke. “When did-?”
“Shh,” Elijah urged, pressing a finger to Dom’s lips. “No
talking.” He didn’t feel up to explaining himself just now. There were other,
much more interesting, things to do. That kiss, and his body’s reaction to it,
had just convinced him he was doing the right thing. He sat up, but kept his
hands on Dom’s chest, exploring lazily.
Dom just lay there, reluctant to break the spell of what
must be a dream.
“Unless it’s German,” Elijah amended his earlier order after
a moment, as his hands found the open collar of Dom’s shirt. “It really turns
me on when you speak German. You’re voice gets all growly.”
Dom blinked up at his friend. “Du meinst so?” he ventured.
“Mmm, yeah.” Elijah could feel the vibrations through Dom’s
chest as he began to unbutton his friend’s shirt. He smiled down at Dom, his
eyes wide.
“Du bist so schön,”
Dom continued, entranced by the naked lust in his partner’s eyes. Dom had
wished for this for so long.
Elijah flashed another smile, but was too intent on Dom’s
now-bare chest to look away. Dom, like Elijah, was a bit on the thin side, but
here there was a hint of definition in the pectorals, a brush of hair in the
center. Nice. Very nice, Lij thought. He bent down to place a kiss on one
dusky brown nipple.
Dom stretched and moaned, a hand going to the back of
Elijah’s head. Elijah correctly interpreted this as encouragement and moved to
give the other nipple the same treatment. Meanwhile, his hands had moved lower
and were worrying at Dom’s button fly. Dom, surprised at how fast this was
going, opened his mouth to speak. But Elijah shot him a warning glance, and he
subsided.
Elijah went back to the task as hand, abandoning Dom’s
nipples to follow the trail of dark hairs that led past his navel to his
now-open fly. To his pleasant surprise, Dom wore nothing underneath. The
younger actor slid his hands up to the waistband of the jeans and pulled them
down just enough to allow Dom’s cock to spring out.
It was fully erect, uncircumcised, and, Elijah thought,
perfect. Without hesitation, he took the head into his mouth.
“Oh, God, Lij, shit!” Dom barked, his hips bucking off the
couch. He hadn’t expected his friend to do that, for things to go this far
this fast. He certainly hadn’t expected that Elijah would be so good at it.
His hands and mouth were working on Dom’s flesh expertly, causing searing jolts
of pleasure to run up his spine. Dom could feel the pre-come leaking copiously
from his slit, and Elijah tonguin awa away.
Dom reached down to pet Elijah’s soft, short hair, trying to
convey his amazement and appreciation through touch, as he couldn’t seem to
find the right words, important enough words.
No, that wasn’t quite true. He
knew what he wanted to say, he was just scared to say it. But then he realized
that Elijah had already given him the answer.
As he felt his climax building, Dom whispered huskily, “Ich liebe
dich.” Elijah’s touch, if possible, became even more enthusiastic and
perfect. Next thing Dom knew, he was coming into the warm depths of Elijah’s
mouth.
A few minutes later, Dom was trying to blink himself back to
coherence, as Elijah, licking his lips, crawled smiling up Dom’s chest. Dom
reached out to cup Lij’s face, running his thumb along one high cheek bone, as
their eyes searched each other’s. Then Dom pulled Lij in for another kiss,
much more thorough this time.
Dom could taste himself on Elijah’s tongue, but there was
also a background flavor that was pure Elijah. Dom hoped he’d get to taste
just-Elijah soon, every part of him.
Pulling back from the kiss, Dom said hoarsely, “Your
turn.”
Elijah didn’t argue, but smiled angelically and scrambled
backwards until he was lying against the other corner of the couch. Dom sat up
slowly – he was feeling a bit light-headed – and then leaned over Lij.
Unhurriedly, Dom’s hands lifted Elijah’s t-shirt, his palms
trailing across the soft skin underneath. Elijah moaned softly, but kept his
eyes open. He wanted to see this.
Dom left the shirt pooled under Elijah’s arms and headed
slowly back down the pale chest and abdomen until his hands found the waistband
of Elijah’s jeans. Carefully he unfastened the button, then the zipper.
Taking hold of both the jeans and the briefs underneath, Dom pulled the
garments down, tugging them over Elijah’s ass and down his legs, pulling them
all the way off his feet before sitting up once more to survey what he’d found.
Elijah looked so young and innocent, and beautiful, laying
there, from his hairless chest to his flat stomach to his alabaster thighs.
His at-attention cock belied this vision, but Dom wasn’t quite ready to go
there yet. First he trailed a finger up one leg to where it joined Elijah’s
abdomen, and traced the one imperfection on the younger man’s body, his
Fellowship tattoo. Dom’s own tattoo gave a sympathetic throb on his shoulder,
making him feel even more connected to this man.
It wasn’t far from the tattoo to Elijah’s insistently rigid
cock, but Dom still wasn’t headed there. Slipping off the couch onto his knees
between Elijah’s legs, Dom bent forward to nip at the tender inner thighs
before him, his hands exploring all the glorious bare skin he could reach.
Elijah moaned again and slipped a few inches closer, silently begging.
Dom looked up at him, saw those pleading, entrancing eyes,
and gave in. Without breaking their gaze, he ran the flat of his tongue over
Elijah’s sac and on along the underside of his cock all the way to the head.
Elijah’s thigh muscles tightened under Dom’s hands, his eyes fluttering
closed. Dom took pity on him. After circling the head of Lij’s cock once with
his tongue, he took the whole thing in his mouth.
Elijah’s hands found Dom’s and squeezed, as Dom began to bob
slowly on Lijah’s erection. Dom was also pretty good at this, and soon managed
to find the exact places and pressures that Elijah liked. In a very short
time, Elijah’s hips were trembling under Dom’s ministrations, his head whipping
back and forth on his neck.
“Oh, yeah, Dom…” And Elijah was coming, Dom gratefully
swallowing, until the younger man lay still, panting.
Elijah’s hands were pulling only weakly at Dom, but his
request was clear, so Dom climbed back onto the couch and laid down, partly
beside and partly on top of his lover. Lij’s soft head burrowed into Dom’s
neck quite comfortably, and both lay contentedly enjoying the other’s company
for some time.
But after a while, Elijah stirred and looked up. His eyes
met Dom’s, and there was a question there.
“So, um,” Dom began uncertainly. “Are we…?”
But before he could articulate the question, something
beeped and jangled nearby. They both turned to look at the coffee table, where
Dom had set down his cell phone. Both recognized the ring tone. It was Billy
calling.
“He can leave a message,” Dom stated, turning back to
Elijah, trying to ignore the repeating buzz.
“It might be important,” Elijah countered unexpectedly.
“Get it. It’s okay.” He didn’t think it would be a good start to their
relationship, if it interfered with Billy and Dom’s legendary friendship.
Dom hesitated through one more repetition, then pushed off
Elijah with a sigh. Dom snatched up the phone.
“Yeah?”
It was the last full word Dom got in, as Billy’s brogue,
thickened by excitement, sounded through the phone.
“But- No- I- We- Bill-” Dom kept trying, but Billy
would not be stopped. Elijah, wondering what so so important, sat up and ran
one hand through Dom’s spiky, sweaty hair. The other hand he held out for the
phone. Dom glanced over, shrugged, and handed it to him.
“Billy? What’s- Uh-huh. Uh-huh.” If Elijah understood
right, Billy’s car stubbornly refused to start, he had an audition to attend,
and they were his last chance. “Okay. Okay! We’ll be there in fifteen
minutes.” And Elijah pressed the “end” button, handed the phone back to Dom,
and reached down to grab his pants off the floor.
Dom just sat watching him, looking confused and perhaps a
little peeved.
“We can talk in the car, alright?” Elijah explained with an
apologetic smile, as he settled his briefs into place. He hoped he hadn’t just
made a big mistake, but Billy needed them, and agreeing to help had seemed
preferable to explaining why they were busy.
Dom seemed to concede the point and stood up to fasten his
own clothing back into place. When they were decent, they found their shoes
and headed to the garage.
L.A. traffic was predictably bad, but moving faster than
they could have walked. As they inched down the freeway, Elijah turned to Dom.
“So, you were trying to ask me something?”
“Yeah,” Dom replied. But it was hard to recapture his
thoughts, here with the glare pouring in the windows, both their eyes hidden by
sunglasses. “Are we, you know, together?”
Elijah laughed, but there was a touch of nervousness to the
sound. “I think we were just ‘together’ about as much as it’s possible to
be.” He turned back to the road, finding it easier to lookthanthan Dom just
now.
“Yeah, but, was that a one-time thing, or…”
“I don’t want it to be.” Elijah’s voice was firm this
time. “Do you?”
“No way.”
“Good then.” They shared a smile, watching their own
reflections in each other’s opaque glasses.
A minute passed. Then Dom spoke up. “Are we gonna tell
anybody?”
Elijah didn’t answer, his eyes once more on the road. To
tell the truth, he hadn’t thought that far ahead.
“I mean, the studio’ll probably be pd,” d,” Dom went on.
“And my agent,” Lij agreed, shaking his head mournfully.
Another few minutes of silence followed. Then:
“Are we gonna tell Billy?” Dom asked.
Elijah’s mouth opened and shut, but all that came out was an
indistinct “Uh.”
“That’s a ‘no’, then.” Dom turned away, looking out the
window at nothing.
Lij wanted to say something, to exn hin himself, to
apologize. But they had arrived, and Billy was standing outside his e,
e,
waving.
“Thanks, guys!” Billy said as he slid into the back seat,
reaching forward to give both friends’ shoulders a solid shake.
“Don’t mention it,” Elijah said as lightly as he could, and
pulled away from the curb.
Billy launched into a tirade against cars, towing services,
mechanics, and anyone else he could think of. He had explained in detail every
problem he’d ever had with a car by the time they were nearing his audition.
Dom and Lij had never been so patient with his rambling.
“What’s up with you two, anyway?” Billy said suddenly,
apparently having exhausted his tirade. “You’re awful quiet.”
Dom and Elijah glanced sideways at each other, then back out
the windshield.
“We’re just zoned,” Lij said, thinking fast, “from watching
movies all mornin’.”
Billy looked from one to the other suspiciously, but seemed
to accept this. “Whatcha gonna do this afternoon?”
Dom shrugged. “Watch more movies, I guess.”
Billy still looked worried about his friends, but they had
reached his destination. Elijah pulled up to the building and Billy got out, then
leaned down to Dom’s window.
“Don’t worry about me, I bet there’ll be somebody here to
get me home,” he said, adding with a waggling eyebrow, “Hope she’s cute.” And
he was off up the front stairs.
Elijah pulled away and headed back towards the freeway.
Neither he nor Dom seemed to know what to say now.
“Back to my place, then?” Lijah ventured after a while.
“Maybe you should just drop me off somewhere,” Dom muttered,
resolutely staring out the passenger side window.
“What? Ah, man.” Shaking his head, Elijah scanned the road
ahead until he found a good place to pull over, then jammed the stick into
Park. He turned to Dom. “I didn’t mean… This is all new to me, so I don’t…
Shit. We can tell Billy if you want, okay?”
Dom turned so Elijah could at least see his profile. “Tell
him what?”
“That we’re…you know!”
“No, I don’t know,” Dom said petulantly. “What are we?
Blowjob buddies? Friends with benefits?”
Elijah looked stunned. “But- But you said…” He pulled off
his sunglasses to expose limpid eyes. “You said ‘Ich liebe dich’, I heard
you.”
Dom’s head whipprounround so fast his glasses went askew.
He reached up to pull them off. “You speak German?! Oh, fuck.” And Dom
covered his face with his hands, his glasses sticking out from between his
fingers at a funny angle.
Elijah smiled softly. “Ich liebe dich, auch,” he said, a bit
stiffly as he tried to get the pronunciation right. Just to be s he he added,
“I love you, too.”
Some of Dom’s fingers parted, and he peered at his lover
from between them. “Really?”
“Really,” Elijah answered, putting out a hand to squeeze
Dom’s thigh. “Can we go home now?”
“Yeah, sure,” Dom said shakily. They both put their
sunglasses back on, and Elijah pulled back onto the road. After a minute Dom
said, “How much German do you know, then?”
Elijah smiled at the road. “Just that one phrase. I looked
it up a while ago. Thought it might come in handy one day.” Dom nodded,
watching Elijah carefully. “So, what else did you say to me?” Elijah
continued.
Dom looked down at his hands. “Nothing nearly as
important.”
“Well, yeah, but tell me. I wanna know.”
“You want German lessons now?”
“Uh-huh, and in return, I’ll give you French lessons.” And
Elijah stuck out his tongue and waggled it suggestively.
Dom let out a bark of laughter. “Hey, there’s nothing wrong
with my French.”
“I’ll say,” Lij agreed, smiling. “But practice makes
perfect.”
Dom smiled back wolfishly. The rest of the ride was filled
with a much more comfortable silence, as each anticipated their arrival back at
the house.
