Lord Celeburne looked on with pride as his youngest daughter was defeating one of his best worrier’s. Princess Lorena was holding her own with Haldir. And that was saying a lot. He was well pleased with what she had learned while she was in the keeping of the king of the Mirkwood realm. The crown prince of Mirkwood had escorted her home a few day’s before. Prince Legolas was to stay a few months. He had made many friends while he was in the keeping of Lord Celeborn. And it had been 50 years scene he left for home. Young Legolas has come a long way from the young elf that first come into Lorien almost 59 years ago now. The Lady Galadriel came up behind her husband and put her hand on his sleeve.

“My love our daughter is a fine warrior. King Thranduil trained her well. Haldir hasn’t had this much fun scene his fight with Thranduil at the last ralm games.”

Galadriel smiled down at her daughter. Lorena was having a good time as well. Lorena has always like to be around the Marchwarden. And Galadriel couldn’t help but be concerned for that. For Haldir has blocked off his heart to everyone. And that included Lorena. It had been so long ago sense he had allowed himself to lovyoneyone. That is one the reasons She and Celeborn had sent her to the Mirkwood King.

“Lorena is a grown elleth now. She and I went for a long walk this morning. We talked much of her feeling about males in general. It seem that she has grown quite fond of young Legolas. He was all she could talk about. We ran into he and Haldir on the path to the lake. My lady you should have seen the look in their eye’s I have a think your worry’s are over.” They heard a loud cheer coming from the training yard. “Well she wasn’t able to out power Haldir.

“Well done My Lady you have improved greatly on your stay in Mirkwood.”

“Thank you Haldir.” Lorena tryed to smile but he was sitting on her chest makeing it a little hard for her to breath.

“Legolas and his father have taught you well.” smirked Haldir.

“ Not well enough it would seem! You’re still sitting on my chest!

He rolled off of her and gave her a hand up. Smiling widely. “Would you like to continue you’re trainin

“Yes I like that. If you can still keep up with me!”

“ And what makes you think I can’t?” he snorted dusting the dirt from his clothes.

“ Please My lord you are all ready out of breath! I thought you were going to have a heart attack.” Lorena gave him the sweetest smile she could muster.

“ You have been in the keeping of Legolas for far too long! You are starting to act like him!”

Legolas walked up behind them. “ And I suppose that’s a bad thing?” he asked arching an eyebrow.

Haldir chuckled. “Yes it can be. You are bad enough but now there's two of you wise crackers around here!”

Lorena looked at Haldir with a funny look on her face and started walking in the direction of the hot springs. “You too can argue all you want I’m going for a swim.” Haldir didn’t miss the look that crossed Legolas’s before he took off after her.

“ Oh now this could be trouble. I’d better go look after them. Then again if they are mated they might want to a alone.”

Legolas turned around and asked him what he was waiting for. That was all the encouragement Haldir needed. He took off after them. When Legolas caught up with Lorena she was already undressed and in the lake.

“Hey why didn’t you wait for us?” Legolas askd.

“ I didn’t think you were coming.” She smiled splashing around in the warm water of the springs.

“ And why wouldn’t we?” Legolas chuckled and jumped into taterater.

“We?” Lorena looked around to see if anyone else was around. She started to relax when she saw Haldir coming up behind Legolas. She sighed then put on a brave face.

Haldir came up behind Legolas just as he was jumping into the lake. He had taken most of his clothing off. Lorena was all ready in the lake. He couldn’t help but to look at her when ever he had a chance. She was a beautiful elleth. With long silver hair and deep blue eyes. He sat on the bank and laught tht their retorts. When Lorena turned her beautiful face to him.

“ Haldir are you not going to join us?" lorena asked splashing water in his direction.

“ Y wil will” Haldir stood up and took off his sweat soaked over shirt.

She quickly looked away. Legolas was under water so she looked back at Haldir’s beautiful body. He was busy taking off most of his things and not really paying her any heed. Haldir was breath taking. She had always thought so. He had a new battle scare scenes she had last seen him. Lorena was grateful that Haldir or Legolas had not seen her momentary lapse. But it had been ten long years scence she had laid eye’s on Haldir. There were many beautiful elves in Mirkwood. But only one compared to Haldir. And they were both here in the lake with her. Vala must be smiling at her this day. She started laughing when Legolas swim up behind her and pulled her under water. He pulled her close for a brief kiss as they resurfaced.

“ I am going to miss you when you’ve gone Legolas!”

“And I as well.”Legolas sighed and pulled her close. “Come back with me Lorena! Come back home with me as my wife.”

“ Legolass I can not. I would do anything for you, you know this.This is my home. This is where I belong.”

Haldir swam up to them. “What’s so a seares that you have to talk of it on a day like today?”Legolas turned his smiling face to him. But Haldir could see that his smile didn’t reacs eys eyes.

“ If the two of you would like to be alone I can go.” Haldir started for the bank.

“ No Haldir that wont be necessary. I have to be going anywMothMother is waiting for me.”

“Lorena please don’t walk away from us!” Legolas cried out stopping Lorena in the tracks.

I’m not Legolas. But this is my home. This is where I belong.” She sighed then walked to the bank.

“And what of us Lorena?” Legolas's voice was so soft that she barely heard him.

“ How can we be if we are devoted to two different places?” Lorena cryied out in frustration.

“Lorena please don’t go!” Legolas took a few steppes in her direction then stopped.

“ I’m sorry Legolas Mother awaits me.” With that she waded out of the water. Quickly put back on her clothes and boot’s and ran off to the other direction. Legolas Started after her but Haldir told him to give her time to think.

“ Why the hell do the females have to be so difficult?” Haldir started laughing.

“ I’m sorry my friend but I haven’t a clue. But if you are mint to be then I’m sure you’ll find a way. How long have you been seeing her?”

“Well almost 13 months. I asked her to come back home with me. But----“

“ Lorena is very loyal to Loren. This is all she has ever known. Aside from her time at Mirkwood. Why should her not wanting to go back surprise you?”

“I love her Haldir. I would marry her in a minute but--- she just wont let me get close to her heart.” legolas sighed and put his head in his large hands.

Haldir smiled at his young friend. For he knew all to well the affect this elleth had on the elves of every age group. For he him self was very close to giving his heart to her. But if Legolas can’t get her then he had no chance with her. “You are closer then any elf has ever been to winning her heart.”

“ That’s where you are wrong Haldir. She can’t forget one elf in particular scene she was only an elfling she has loved him. and I fear she loves him still!” haldir pulled legolas aginst his shoulder.

“ And who might that be my friend?”

“ You!” Legolas sighed aaid aid back aginst him and closed his eyes.

The shocked look in Haldir’s eyes could have said a thousand words. “You are crazy!”

“ You might be right there my friend. But I’m right about this.” Legolas looked into Haldir's eyes and smiled a sad smile.
