Title: Breaking the Rain
Pairing: V/O ofc
Rating: This chapter G
Summary: The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Disclaimer: Fiction. I make no money from this, and it is not real.
A/N: First of all, this is my way of expressing the numbness I have been feeling. Some strong themes later on. This never happened, never could happen.
Chapter 1 Rainfall
**************
She kicked a pebble across the street, the rain pelting down upon her head. At least it cleaned the dried tears from her skin. Everyone can only take so much, or so she kept telling herself.
Telling herself and, yet, failing to remember why. Why it had gotten this bad. Why she had turned to the streets. But of course, it was more of a drunken loss of memory, for the nightmares stayed. Always stayed and always came back.
She turned toward the pub across the street where everyone always seemed to gather. Instead of joining, she grabbed another pebble from the ground, tossing it across the street, crying out as she did so. So much anger and pain in such a frail body. A body so broken, so battered emotionally. Sometimes it is hard to carry on. This was something she had learned a long time ago, but was still attempting to make it through day to day.
Someone across the street yelled something at her. Her middle finger was her response, not hearing what they said, and not caring anymore. Wondering, instead, on which doorway she would be able to sleep under in order to attempt to remain dry tonight. That was, until the fingers wrapped around her arm.
"LET GO OF ME!!" she yelled, turning and trying to jerk away.
"You drunk, child?" The tall man in front of her asked calmly, coolly. Damn him for touching her.
"Let me go or I'll scream!" She was still tugging against his grip.
"Are. You. Drunk. Jesus, child. You're gonna get arrested walking around drunk." He was pulling her toward a car. Three guys were already in the car. Her vision blurred. She couldn't fight. She couldn't fight even though she wanted to. Instead going limp, weak. Her eyelids fluttered and blackness followed.
