~*~*~*~*~
Legolas and Elladan had been lovers for nearly a millennia. They thought they had all the time in the world. But that all changed when Elladan and his twin decided to remain in Middle Earth as mortals. Elladan could clearly recall the day he told Legolas that he would not be going west with him. He remembered how Legolas had sobbed, pleaded, and finally begged him to change his mind. Legolas stayed in ME only to watch out for Aragorn, Arwen and the twins. On the day of Aragorn’s death Legolas and Elladan held Arwen as she sobbed. Aragorn was buried and the next morning Arwen passed. Legolas knew that his time was up, so he and Gimli made ready to pass to Valinor. Elladan stood with his brother and watched as the ship took his beloved away. Elladan and Elrohir remained in Gondor with their nieces and nephews. One winter Elrohir caught a chill and a week later he was dead. Grief stricken Elladan traveled to Imladris to live out his remaining days. Imladris was dead and lifeless; for no one had lived there in years. Elladan walked the crumbling halls and remembered the better days. The years passed as he remained in his solitude. He was old now but the Valar had let him retain his youthful appearance much as Arwen had. He woke one morning and he knew that this would be his last day in Middle Earth. He walked out and sat under the tree he and Elrohir had planted. He remembered Aragorn, Arwen, and Elrohir. Most of all he thought about Legolas. He lay at the base of the tree as his vision dimmed and his chest ached. He cried out in fear and pain. He closed his eyes when he felt ethereal hands caress his face and hair. He could feel his brothers close by and the wind carried Arwen’s scent.
“Do not fear gwanur we are here for you….” A ghostly voice whispered in his ear.
Sighing Elladan gave up and he took his final breath.

Valinor
Legolas was wracked with pain and he cried out in fear. He was dying. Elladan was his life, his spirit, his everything. He was dead now and soon Legolas would join his soul mate in the eternal reward. He closed his eyes as ghostly lips caressed his face. Each kiss took away his fear and uncertainty. Smiling Legolas took his final breath even as his sprit was embraced by his lover and friends.
~*~*~*~*~
Elrond and Celebrian found Legolas the next morning and they knew their sons were dead. They buried Legolas and said a prayer hoping that he would find his beloved and finally be at peace.
~*~*~*~*~
Happily the four of them walked off into eternity; together again.
