After breakfast, Glorfindel and Celeborn followed Elrond to his study. Glorfindel knew that they needed to talk about this new turn of events, about what it would mean for the current situation, the conflict with Thranduil, and they would not have been able to do so in the company of the other elves.

After Legolas had left, Glorfindel had been showered with compliments for catching the son of Thranduil and with suggestions on how to punish him best....the elves had laughed, and tried to sway Glorfindel to give the Mirkwood elf to them, at least for a single night, and although Glorfindel had joined in their laughter he had been adamant about his decision. Legolas was his, and he would not let them touch him.

"This is indeed fortunate," Celeborn mused when they were finally alone. "The son of Thranduil in our hands... how can we use this to our advantage? Do you think Thranduil would finally give in if we threatened to take the life of his son?"

"You forget that he came here to escape his father's wrath," Glorfindel interrupted. "You heard what he said, he is afraid that his father would kill him if he knew -- what good is a hostage if noboaresares about him?"

"But surely there must be a way that we can use this to our advantage! Even if his father does not care, what about the other members of his familiy? His brothers?"

Elrond chuckled. "Oh, and what should they do? Talk their father into keeping the peace because his son is warming Glorfindel's bed? Do you really think that would work?"

"No, it probably wouldn't," Celeborn finally admitted with a sigh. "But to have Legolas Thranduilion in our hands... is there no way to use him to improve our situation?"

Glorfindel smirked. "I know Thranduil. We should not appeal to his love for his son, instead, let us attack his honor. Let word spread that Legolas carries my child, that he lies beneath me every night as a willing whore, forsaking his kingdom and his honor for the pleasure only I can give him..."

"Thranduil will be furious! We might very well have an open war on our hands then!"

"Yes, Thranduil will be furious! And in his fury he will make mistakes... let us provoke him and wait for his reaction. Perhaps we might be able to once and for all end this conflict!"

Celeborn still seemed uncertain, but Elrond nodded slowly. "Yes, Glorfindel, I think you are right. We must use this chance... Thranduil will gain knowledge of this sooner or later, and this way, we at least have control of the circumstances. I will send a group of our guards to the border, they will set up camp there, build a fire and talk about what they have seen here this morning. They will be overheard, I know that Thranduil's spies lurk at our borders. And then we will wait and see how Thranduil reacts."

Back in Glorfindel's room, Legolas had crawled beneath the covers, curling up in the darkness of the artificial cave like a small, frightened child. And he felt like a child, unable to change what was happening to him, unable to understand why he had to suffer so. And what would Glorfindel do to him now that he knew? He would not be physically harmed, that the Lord had promised him, not until hiild ild was born. But what t Wha What would he do with him then?e hie him to groups of men, to use him as they pleased, give him to those who had asked for him? Elladan wanted him, he knew that, and Haldir as well... and even Lord Elrond had shown interest und would surely enjoy seeing the son of his enemy helpless beneath him.

Glorfindel smiled when he finally entered the room and found Legolas hiding beneath a blanket. "Oh, cunn lend nin, are you still frightened?" He drew back the cover, shaking his head as he found Legolas pale and trembling, his cheeks wet with tears and his hair in wild disarray. "This is not a very becoming look for the Prince of Mirkwood... but then, you do not behave like a prince either, do you?" Legolas flinched, but he knew that accusation to be true and did not react when Glorfindel gently cupped a cheek. "To think that all this time, it was not a stableboy but Mirkwood's youngest prince himself who served me so well..." findfindel laughed softly. "And it is also Legolas Thranduilion, Prince of Mirkwood, who will bear my child. Isn't that ironic? After the great lengths Thranduil went to to ensure the isolation of his little kingdom, our bloodlines will become mingled after all?"

"But they won't, my Lord," Legolas protested with flushed cheeks. "My child will be no noble of Mirkwood as I am exiled, without a name, without a father."

"Oh, these things change, cunneth, they are subject to the rulers' whims and can be reversed according to the day's political outlook. Believe me, I know how these things work, I have seen it happen so often I have lost count... perhaps one day I should take one of those history books from the library and tell you how those events *really* happened."

"My father hates all Noldor, I cannot see that happening..." Legolas sighed. "But I will believe you, if you tell me so, for it wogriegrieve me to see my child without a family, without a past."

"Not without a family," Glorfindel chided. "I told you, I will acknowledge the child as my heir, raise it so that one day it will be able to take my place as a Lord of our people. And you, pen-neth, will have a very easy life if you just learn to accept me as your master."

Legolas took a slow breath. This was what it had amounted to -- yes, this was what he had thought about day and night during the last months. Nherehere was no other way for him... and when the air left his lips again, he had finally come to his decision. He curled up against Glorfindel's side, resting his head on his chest so he could look up into the Noldo's eyes. "I am yours," he said simply. "I do not care what happens to me, but I am afraid for my child... I have no strengh left and no friends, but you can give my child a home and a family... if you keep your promise to raise it as your heir, I will submit to you without protest and do whatever you ask of me."

Glorfindel chuckled and buried his hands in Legolas' silky, golden hair. "You sound a bit melodramatic there, but then, you are still young and such is the prerogative of youth... do not worry so much. You will soon learn to find pleasure in this life... and wasn't that why you came back to me after I had you for the first time? Because you found a pleasure in submitting to me which you had not known until then?"

Legolas was silent for a while. "Yes," he admitted finally, and when Glorfindel said nothing more he relaxed under his caresses and soon fell asleep.
