Chapter 9 ~Live or die~
'Phone Rings'
"Hello" Drake answered the phone.
"Listen Drake its me Carter we've got a situation here." Carter stated, 'I just left Rachels house and these two weirdo's were there, dressed in halloween costumes. Kinda reminded me of drag queens. Anyway one of them way eyeing me like he knew me."
"Yeah so?" Drake said without interest.
"So... I've never met the guy before. I dont like him. That asshole slammed the door in my face then had the nerve to look at me as if i am worth nothing. He doesnt know who he's fucking with, and i dont like that other pretty boy that was staring at rachel. Can you belive that! He had the audacity to stare at my girl. You know what i need you to find out their background. I want to know where they're from, and most of all why they're here, and I'll determine when they will be leaving?" Carter demanded.
"Yo Carter why don't you just ask Rachel?" Drake asked.
"Do you think i'm stupid? I've tried that already, besides she just changed the subject. This isn't like her. She never keeps things from me. But im going to find out one way or another; i've worked to hard to find somebody like Rachel and i'm not about to lose her now." Carter stated anger rising.
"I thought the only reason you liked her was because she throws good parties, has connections and oh yeah you wanted to sleep with her. If i didn't know better I'd say your jealous of these guys." Drake said laughing.
"Shut up! I'm not jealous of anybody, don't forget who your talking to. Besides I think i might love her one day. But there's an obstacle I need to get rid of." He said calming himself.
"Yeah that freak Shannon" Drake joked.
"Nevermind Shannon. I'm talking about Rachel's new guests. Somethings not right with them. I want to know why she\everever mentioned them before. I know all of her friends, and i'm going to keep it that way." Carter added.
"What about shannon?" Drake questioned.
"After I've gotten Rachel to choose me over them, I could care less what happens to Shannon." Carter said nonchalantly.
"Don't worry boss, I'll take care of her. What about the weirdos?" Drake asked
"After i know what the deal is with them I'll decide wether they deserve to live or die." Carter said thinking about the 9mm he keeps in his glovecompartment.
"woah boss, you already thinking about taking them out? I dont know whats going on in that head of yours but if thats what you want then thats what i'll do. How are we going to keep Rachel from noticing all this stuff?" Drake asked.
" I've got Rachel wrapped around my finger. She'll believe anything I say. Besides you dont need to understand my motives just do what i say." Carter said in a cocky arrogant tone, before he hung up.

~Back at the house~
"What's going on here?" Shannon asked as she entered the living room?
"Huh? Oh nothing" Haldir replied as he turned away from Legolas. Noticing Legolas' cold gaze she knew something was wrong.
"I heard arguing. Is everything alright? Because if not I'll have to put you outside elf boy." She stated. silently hoping Haldir would get the message implied.
"Put me outside?" Haldir asked with a raised eyebrow. "I'd love to see you try that." He replied hoping she would take him up on that offer.
Seeing the two obviously flirting Legolas decided to give them some privacy. Heading towards the backyard he did not say anything to either one of them as he left the room. Not sure if it was just him missing home or this whole situation he knew he needed to be alone to think about the future which looked as if it would be stuck on this planet.

"You know we are going to have to get you out of those clothes and into something decent till we go shopping tomorrow "Shannon said as she looked at Haldir's clothing.
"There is nothing wrong with my clothing," Haldir retorted.
"This town is filled with nosy people and they will start asking questions. Making assumptions "Shannon replied back " And I am sure you do not want people to start asking questions, hmm?"
"I could care less.” Haldir stated nonchalantly.
“Well you will care when people start to notice your pointy ears strange attire, and treat you like a lab animal.” Shannon informed.
“I am no animal. ” Haldir said insulted. “ And I will not be treated like an animal especially by a HUMAN, I'm not ashamed of my ears, nor do i have a reason to be. I am an elf, First born and shall be treated with the highest utmost respect. ” Haldir stated proudly.
“Look elf boy! Around here WE DON’T HAVE ELVES! ELVES ARE NOT REAL! Well except for you and Legolas. And because you are a real elf, you would be considered a rare jewel that everyone would want to get their hands on. You are immortal therefore they will attempt to find the key to your immortality. They will poke you with needles, cut you open and see what makes you tick. You’ll never see your home again, you will be caged up like they did with the aliens in area 51 never to be seen again, Got it?” Shannon spat out trying her best to make the arrogant elf understand.
“I’d love to see a HUMAN attempt to cage me up. And I don’t know what this n-e-e-d-l-e thing is but I am too swift to let them touch me with it. As for aliens and area 51 I am clueless as to what you're talking about. It already seems as though I will not see my home again, but you seem to obviously be against Legolas and I drawing attention therefore I will stay out of sight or try to go unnoti if if that is what you wish.” Haldir said noticing the seriousness in Shannon’s eyes.
“Thank you.” Shannon sighed in relief. “I don’t mean to scare you but you’ve got to know the facts about this world. Anyway its really late and you are probably tired, let me go and see if I can find something for you two to wear.”
'Scare me? hmm she's must be crazy. I'm not afraid of anything, although the look in her eye kind of made me think these people really are that dangerous. I might as well do what she asks. besides im starting to enjoy these little conversations with the fiesty woman.' Haldir thought to himself.
Not saying a word in protest because he was not tired, Haldir just watched Shannon silently as she walked up the stairs to her room and then walked out of the house in search of his friend who seemed to be having a difficult time.
