Damage Control
Chapter 8 - Damage Control
“What are you doing mate?” it was Billy and he had just walked into Elijah’s room, there was a couple of suitcases out and he had the phone in his hand.
“Just called Liv, I’ve had a plan to work some damage control and so I’m going to Mass for a bit.”
“Aye, I’m coming with ya then.”
“What?”
“Haven’t seen Liv in a bit and I’m not needed on set for three days, I’m coming with ya.”
Elijah would have usually protested, but he figured the more friendly faces about at the moment was a good thing. They boarded the plane and settled themselves in.
Liv was waiting for them when they landed and she rushed over and gave Billy a huge hug, then turned to Lij and cuffed him round the ear.
“You deserved that.” She muttered then pulled him in for a hug too.
“Now, I called ahead and spoke to her boss, she is leaving at 6 today. There are a load of reporters outside the store, so I’m thinking turning up there is NOT a good idea. I know where she lives, her roommate Amy (Amethyst) told me. We will go there. We haven’t got much time.”
They bundled into the car and began phase 1 of the plan.
“Thank you Eric, I guess I’ll be off then.” Emily had just beaten her way through the throng again.
“I’ll bet it’s the swords coupled with her temper that’s keeping them outside” she laughed at Anya.
“Whatever it is, I’m just thankful they aren’t in here bugging me more.”
They barged their way through the crowd and leapt into the car, driving away from them as fast as they could go.
As they pulled up to the house, Anya spotted a familiar looking car.
“Wait a minute, that’s Liv Tyler’s car. What is she doing here?” Anya asked in amazement.
They ran to the front door, as there were still reporters outside and Anya dropped her keys when she saw who was sitting in her lounge.
Liv stood up and walked over to her and gave her a hug.
“Are you okay?” she asked sweetly.
“Um, yeah, I guess. Dealing with them all day.” She gestured to the press outside.
“Yeah, not fun, especially if you didn’t ask for it.”
Anya saw Elijah and Billy stand up. Billy reached her first and introduced himself, shaking her hand. Then Elijah came up.
“I’m not going to apologize because I don’t want my butt kicked up and down the road, but I have brought you something as a token of, well, hopefully friendship.”
He pulled a small wrapped box out of his pocket and handed it to Anya. She reddened as she felt everyone looking at her, and opened it with a gasp.
