Well sorry guys its been along time since ive posted another chapter and ive been really busy but im off to write chapter 9 so i hope you enjoy this one.. i had some problems writing it.. but my muse is back.
~ Accusations ~
~Out on the porch~
Haldir just sat comforting Shannon. Although no words were spoken, the silence said enough to calm them both. The sunset and gentle breeze creating a romantic like setting.
‘One day,’ Haldir thought to himself, ‘I will get through to her‘. Noticing Shannon’s far off gaze.
“I never understood why Rachel liked the forest so much until now.” Shannon whispered “Its so beautiful. Colors’ dancing across the sky before the sun disappears behind the mountains. The last streaks of light displaying one of Gods beautiful portraits. The wind caressing my exposed flesh. I never discuss my past with anyone but Rachel. Right now I‘m still not comfortable with anyone else knowing it.” looking up into Haldir’s eyes she said, “I may seem like a pain at times, but don’t take it personally. It‘s just how I am. And I'm sorry for treating you so harshly.”
“It’s ok. I know I’ve been harsh right back. I have to admit, I can be a little arrogant at times.” He replied with a smile, as they both started to laugh.
“Come on, let’s go inside?” Haldir suggested and they both went inside. Upon entering the living room they were both surprised to see Rachel asleep on top of Legolas.
“They do look cute together.” Shannon whispered, not realizing she spoke out loud. The image the created was picture worthy so she grabbed her camera off the lamp table and took the shot of the peaceful looking couple. Haldir stared at the couple the lie asleep on the couch; wishing it were he and Shannon. Knowing he would have to compete with Shannon’s past in order to win her heart. Startled by the light that flashed when Shannon held that weirdly shaped object in her hands. Not asking what it was, just assuming it was yet again magic that he would never understand.
At the sound of someone entering the room Legolas awoke with an innocent smile. Noticing Haldir and Shannon watching them. Carefully sliding from under her, Legolas picked up Rachel. Holding her like a groom holds a new bride, as he silently carried her up the stairs to her bedroom. Not wanting to wake her, or cross any boundaries; he decided to leave her clothes on. Only taking off her house shoes and tucking her under the covers; not once stirring her from her peaceful state of sleep.
Walking back down the stairs legolas headed towards the living room. “Where is Shannon?” He asked.
“She is in here room, putting her camera up. So I see your getting close to Rachel.” Haldir added.
“Yes, well I want to-
“You might want too but she is already spoken for Legolas, you know we elves act civilized and do not cross into anyone’s territory especially humans.” Haldir said
“Territory? You are one to speak of territory. Do you not remember the situation with Vardamir and Nienna? She was spoken for and you still claimed her for yourself.” Legolas stated at the audacity of Haldir’s comment.
“That was different she already belonged to me-” Haldir tried to explain.
“Can you honestly tell me Haldir that you have not seen the love that escalated between Arwen and Aragorn? If they can make it work why can’t I? We are not in our world nor are we surrounded by elves, but Rachel is what I want and I know deep down she wants me as well, and as for territory, she doesn’t seem to pleased with this Carter.” He replied in an aggravated tone.
“Look Legolas, I do not mean to discourage you but she is Carter’s; I’m definitely not taking his side nor will I ever. I do however see the connection you two have and I’ve also noticed her hesitations with you. Her internal battle is prominent and you must give her time if you wish to win her heart.” His own words surprised him for he was in a similar situation himself, but to stubborn to take his own advice.
