Part Seven:

The travelers rounded the last bend in the road and gazed upon the splendor that was the Last Homely House. Their escort took them across the bridge and left them to follow the road that led to the courtyard. “Mae govannen, my friends, word has been sent ahead that you have arrived and there will be someone to welcome you. I must return to the border.” With that he turned and left them.

“You were right, Galdor, I saw about three elves already that I would not mind courting, and we have not even reached the house yet.” Nórdithen said referring to Galdor’s comment after they had met Glorfindel; there were many beautiful elves here.

They followed the path and were soon in the courtyard with many elves gathered around to see their kin from the Havens. Most elves travelled from east to west to Mithlond, not away from. Many elves gathered in the courtyard had family and friends that had gone to the Gray Havens to take the straight road to Valinor, and they were eager to talk with Galdor and the twins to ask if they had seen them.

In the middle of the crowd stood a particularly impressive elf dressed in regal robes and wearing a mithril circlet, which his long brown hair was intricately woven into. He looked welcoming to Galdor’s eyes and had a warm smile on his face. Beside him stood his sons who Galdor had seen once before when they had accompanied their mother to the Gray Havens to sail. They were tall and broad with hair and eyes like their father but their features were more refined, and Galdor assumed that they had inherited them from their mother. Beside them stood and elf that Galdor had never seen before and one which he had no idea who he could be, was it Melpomaen, or maybe Lindir, no it could not be him, he was said to have white hair. ~I know it must be… ~

“Welcome to Imladris, I am Lord Elrond and these are my sons, Elladan and Elrohir.” Elrond’s greeting cut off Galdor’s thoughts.

The three elves dismounted and bowed low to the lord of the valley and his sons. “Thank you for having us, my lord,” Galdor spoke for all of them. “It is an honor to meet you, and I look forward to the council. I have brought word from my lord and he wishes me to convey his deepest regrets for not being able to come himself, but in these dark times, he deemed it unsafe for him to leave his people.”

“Very true, may I assume that you are Galdor?”

“Yes, my lord, and these are my friends and escorts Nórdithen and Gondithen.”

“Erestor will take care of you and make sure that you are settled” Elrond said to Galdor then addressed Erestor. “Please show our guests to their quarters and see that they have something to eat. Everyone else leave them in peace for at least today. Get back to work.” He said in a teasing tone as the crowed began to disperse.

~Erestor, of course. Who else would the dark haired elf standing next to the royal family be~ Galdor mentally slapped himself as he and the twins followed Erestor into the house and up the steps to the second story.

“Your rooms are here, Galdor, and the twins will be right down the hall. I hope you do not mind sharing a room with each other we are a bit over crowded at the moment. There are elves from all of the realms along with dwarves and men here to attend the council.”

“That is quite alright, Master Erestor; we share a room in the havens as well.”

Erestor smiled politely “I will leave you to unpack then; your things should have made it up here by now. For the next couple of days you will be free to do as you please as some summoned have not arrived yet. Let me know if you need anything.”

Thank you.” Galdor said for all of them. Erestor walked the twins to their room as Galdor stepped in to his.

Galdor was lying on his bed and staring up at the ceiling without really seeing it. During the past two days he had done a little exploring in the valley and house. He had seen the rose garden, the river, the stables, and the library. It was beautiful but every were he went Erestor seamed to be, which was not bad, but the looks that he gave Galdor made him feel embarrassed and flushed. He thought of his lover, maybe Cirdan was sitting on their bed right now thinking of him. Galdor tried to imagine the feel of Cirdan’s hands on his chest. He rubbed his nipples through his tunic and moaned Cirdan’s name when the door burst open and two blurs jumped on him laughing.

“Get off me!” Galdor said as the twins wrestled above him and pinned him to the bed. When the press on his wrists slacked a bit Galdor took his chance and flipped Nórdithen over.

“Ha, who is the master now?”

“Is that what you say to Cirdan?” Nórdithen asked as he and his twin giggled.

“You are disgusting.” Galdor crawled off of the bed and sat on a chair near by while the twins cuddled on the bed. “Your room is a lot bigger than ours.” Nórdithen commented while looking around the lushly furnished room.

“Of course it is, I am more important than you.” Galdor answered with a smirk. “So, the sons of Elrond are attractive,” he added nonchalantly trying to gage the reaction of the two elves on his bed.

I suppose,” Nórdithen said, “but that Erestor is beautiful.”

“Do you think so?” Gondithen said, surprised at his brothers tastes which usually ran parallel to his own.

“You do not? With that ebony hair and creamy skin! Who would not think he is beautiful? I suppose you prefer Melpomaen with his mousy brown hair and short stature?”

“Maybe I do,” Gondithen shot back before sticking out his tongue at his twin, who punched him in the gut. After that, an all out wrestling match started up again and Galdor had to separate them.

“Boys!” Galdor called “One would be hard pressed to count you among grown elves with only your behavior to go on.”

“He started it.” they both said while pointing at each other.

“My point is proven.” Galdor said dryly.

Just then a knock was heard on the door. Galdor went to answer it while the twins kept trading punches and cheap jabs. Galdor was surprised to see Erestor on the other side of the door. He looked Galdor up and down, as if he were pray. When Erestor’s eyes finally lifted to his face, Galdor could see a glint in them that made him nervous. He was not use to being ogled like a piece of meat. Holding his head up high and squaring his shoulders, he addressed Erestor. “What can I do for you, my lord?”

~you can do many things for me~ Erestor thought. ~ Or better yet I can do many things to you~. “Dinner will be served in one hour in the hall. We will be honoring you and your companion’s safe journey and presence in our humble vale.”

Erestor’s voice was rich and low and sent a shiver down Galdor’s back. ~is he doing that on purpose or is that how he always talks? ~ Galdor thought. “Thank you, my lord.” Galdor said, and then closed the door quickly.

“Who was it, Galdor?” Nórdithen asked.

“It was Erestor, he came to tell us dinner will be served in an hour so I suggest that you two go and get ready.” The twins jumped up and headed for the door shoving each other out of the way. They both wanted to look good to impress the Imladris elves and wanted to be the first to the bathing room so they did not have to wait on their twin to finish.

“And make sure you wear your robes.” Galdor called after them.

Once they were gone Galdor sank in to a chair and thought about the enigma that was Erestor. He was certainly handsome and seemed like a friendly elf, but there was something in the way that he looked at Galdor that gave him a funny feeling. It was almost like he thought he owned him, and would soon stake his claim. ~Well I would like to see him try~ Galdor mused ~my heart and soul is already claimed. ~
