Chapter 7 ~Home~


"Do you remember how you both got here?" Rachel asked as Legolas took her hand. They all sat in the living room, the T.V. forgotten.

Shannon rolled her eyes and scoffed. Haldir frowned as he looked at her. Those images still present in his mind of her on that bed of hers, teaching the sassy woman some manners. He wondered why she was that way and not nice like Rachel. He looked at the two sitting on the couch together. He then looked at Shannon and noted how far away she was scooted towards the other end of the couch. He smirked as he scooted closer to her.

"We heard a voice. It was a strange chanting." Legolas said, "very mysterious."

"Su dou don't believe in magic?" Haldir asked as he scooted closer to her.

"As a matter of fact I don't." she added with a glare.

"Why?" he asked.

"I just don't believe in it ok? Unless I see something with my own eyes, I don’t believe in it." glancing at Haldir she noticed he scooted closer. Trying her best to move farther away but not succeeding because she was already at the end of the couch.

"Not all magic can be seen with ones eyes." Haldir commented. "Yes, I heard a strange chanting too. My last memory was waking up to find you two.”

“Great now we have kind of beam me up Scotty. How do we know you’re not just making that up?" Shannon asked, now she could feel Haldir touching her leg, he was practically on her lap, his arm around her shoulders. "You two could be really good actors!"

"I heard the same thing Shannon; didn’t you?" Rachel asked looking at her friend. She wished Shannon would stop being such a prick toward their guests .She could sense that they really were from another world and not actors. Not to mention the flawless skin and incredibly sexy pointy ears gave enough proof that they were really elves.

"Haldir told me, the forest we were in was haunted by a powerful witch, named, Tamuril. She had been cast there after a mishap." Legolas said as he began to caress Rachel's hand. He was already falling for her. He had never felt this way for anyone before. He never really had time to focus on love.

"You mean a witch? Like the witches of East wick?" Rachel asked.

"I know naught of who you mean; but she is extremely powerful and could have something to do what has happened. We are not sure if it is her, it could also be the Valar." Haldir added

"Great so now a witch is meddling with the forces of nature." Shannon was trying to remain calm. She never believed in fairy tales or the sorts, why should she? She did not believe in happily ever after’s or finding ones soul mate.

Rachel looked thoughtful. "Who are the Valar?"

"The Valar are Arda's caretakers." Legolas said with a smile.

"But now we should try and fe oue out a way home for you two. Maybe tomorrow we can go back to the spot were we found you and look for clues?" Rachel suggested. She felt all wonderful and warm inside as Legolas caressed her with his slender fingers. She wondered what he was like as a lover. Imagining he was excellent one.

Shannon's head felt like it was going to explode. "I need some air!" She stated and got off the couch stalking to the back of the house and out back to the porch..

The three looked surprised at Shannon's outburst. Haldir immediately following after her.

"I think your idea is a good one and we'll do that tomorrow. We need to find away home. We certainly can't stay here." Legolas said, his other hand reached up to caress her face. "Thank you for believing in us." He whispered.

Rachel wanted to ask him if it was so terrible for him to stay in this world but she caught herself, instead she just leaned in toward his caressing hand and smiled. "I know Shannon does too, it is taking her a bit more time to realize it." Legolas took her chin and lifted it as he lowered his lips to hers and gently began to kiss her. To Rachel it was gentle and passionate and made her burn inside, wanting him even more.

They were so soft just like she imagined and he certainly knew how to kiss! Almost better than Carter. Rachel put her hands up on his chest at the thought of Carter, and pushed him away. "I'm sorry I can't." She said with a sad look in her eyes. She looked into his blue eyes and saw want in them, and something else, but she could be mistaken, couldn’t she? Shlt alt as if time stood still as she looked at him. Both holding each others gaze.

She was told that when time stood still that, that was when you found your other half, your one true love.

Legolas knew why she pulled back, but he did push the matter. It was that Carter fellow.

"Why don't we watch a movie? Something to pass the time" Rachel suggested doing her best not to look at him, it was hard not to lead him on when she truly wanted him. But she was not ready to choose.

"I am interested in what these movies are." Legoals said noticing her avoiding his gaze.

Rachel went and picked a movie for them and then settled back on the couch. Legolas still could not help but reach for her hand, and let out a sigh of relief when she did not pull away.

Shannon breathed a sigh in relief when she got outside she stepped onto the porch and looked up at the sky. She could not take it anymore, she was so confused.

"Why did you run?" Haldir asked as Shannon jumped when she felt him behind her.

"I did not run." She responded

"Yes you did."

"No, I did not. I wanted, I needed some air." She replied emotions rising in her voice

"You want me." He said with a smirk.

Shannon snorted. "Like, hell I want you! Far from it elf boy."

Shannon gasped as she felt him turn her around, and saw the fire in his gray eyes as he pulled her closer to him and kissed her. She felt his hands in her hair as he gripped her close. On instinct she wrapped her arms around his neck. The kiss made her want him more. She felt a stirring of desire start from the pit of her stomach and spread its way through her body.

Haldir wanted her more than he ever wanted anyone. He wanted to make passionate love to her, but something inside him told him to wait. After several minutes he broke the kiss. He watched her step away and touch her swollen lips. At least she did not push him away.

"You want me like I do you, why won't you let me in?" Haldir asked.

Shannon shook her head and wrapped her arms around her. "My life has never been easy. I grew up an orphan until I met Rachel. Then she became my family. Can’t you see? I am jealous of Carter, and I’m afraid he'll take her away from me; and I'll never see her ag And And just when I thought things couldn’t get worse here Legolas steps into the picture. Not that I don’t like him, but he might taker away from me I mean I‘d prefer her to be with him over Carter but still, I don’t want to lose the only family I have."

"There is more to it than that, Rachel said you were attacked?" He heard Shannon's sigh and saw her nod.

"Yes. I don't like to talk about it. .It’s too painful."

"You can trust me." Haldir said.

No smart ass remarks were said as the two sat on the porch swing, rocking gently. A light breeze blew in the air. They gazed up at the sun set lost in their own thoughts and feelings. Haldir smiled when he felt Shannon's hand in his.

At least he was making progress in melting this women’s heart.

Having been so tired Rachel had fallen asleep; Legolas had situated them better and she was laying on top of him, his arm across her back holding onto her, on the couch and he had pulled a blanket over them, to keep her warm.. He silent watched the interesting movie and wondered how strange earth was.

Legolas knew he did not really like earth from what he saw on television, but before she fell asleep on his chest, Rachel had told him that was only TV and not the same thing as reality.

They had yet to tell the two women how old they really were. He wondered how they would react. He knew Shannon might overreact and not except it, but not Rachel. She would accept them. He was sad about Shannon but knew Haldir would get to her eventually and he smiled at that. For the first time in his extremely long life he felt like he was home. Not on this earth but with Rachel.
