Ch 45: Rainbow in the Dark
When there's lightning - you know it always brings me down
Cause it's free and I see that its me
Who's lost and never found
I cry out for magic - I feel it dancing in the light I was
cold- I lost my hold
To the Shadows of the night
There;s no sign of the morning coming
You've been left on your own
Like a Rainbow in the Dark
Do your demons - do they ever let you go?
When you've tried - do they hide - deep inside
Is it someone that you know?
You're just a picture, an image caught in time
We're a lie - you and I
We're words without rhyme
There's no sight of the morning coming
You've been left on your own
Like a Rainbow in the Dark
When there's lightning - you know it always brings me down
Cause it's free and I see that it's me
Who's lost and never found
Feel the magic - I feel it floating in the air
But its' fear - and you'll hear
It's calling you beware!
There's no sign of the morning coming
There's no sight of the day
You've been left on your own.....Like a Rainbow in the Dark .......Ronnie Dio

Haldir stared up at the night sky as Ashva tried unsuccessfully to arouse him again. It was nearly midnight, and the breeze off the river had died down. They needed to start for Minis Tirith
In a move spurred on by desperation, she took him into her mouth and slowly suckled the blood back into the shaft. It felt so good, he was half tempted to just lie there and enjoy it, but they really needed to get going. Using his elbows for support, he sat up and watched her. If he hadn't just recently come, her tender care would have set his blood on a slow boil.
"We need to go," he said gently and caressed her head, letting his fingers run through her cool hair. She grabbed his foreskin with her teeth, and for a moment he thought she was going to bite him, but she thought against it and sat up. "Thank-you," he mused and caressed her chin.
"For what?" she asked regrettably.
"For not biting me," he said with a grin and leaned forward for a quick kiss. "Get dressed. We need to go."
She saw the amusement in his eyes. "I only hope you are as sure of yourself when you run into him," she said and stood. Haldir was so cock sure of himself that he didn't believe his shoulder would amount to anything. He had bested Kalan once before and believed he would do it again. She was beginning to believe he was right.
"I am. While my brothers and I ready the horses, wake Elrohir. We'll need him to find Elladan."

Kalan was restless. His man should have been back already. Had he been a fool and allowed himself to be captured? Pacing the battlements, dark on dark, he kept his eyes on the Osgilith road. Few people were about this late at night, and the riders on the gray horses just naturally drew his attention to them. Haldir! It was Haldir! Quickly stepping deep into the shadows before he was spotted, he smiled grimly. Haldir was coming to him. He had also seen sweet Ashva and hoped she had tasted her lover well because Haldir would not be among the living when the sun rose in the morning.
