The Mad Friends
Chapter 4 – The Mad Friends
“Oh my God! What the hell was Liv Tyler doing here?” Amethyst squealed after she had got out of earshot.
“OW! Head wound, don’t yell!” Anya laughed as she sat up and the kids all jumped on her
lap. Anya relayed the story to them, they were all dumbstruck when she had finished, even her Nan.
“What?” Anya mocked
“That’s mad!” Emily squeaked.
“Tell me about it! I meet the bloke I’ve been obsessing over for the past nine years and he totals my car and I yelled at him, next thing I know I’m in hospital with Liv Tyler refusing to leave me here alone until someone arrives to take me home! I mean, am I just having some really vivid fucked up dream here or something?”
“I doubt it, be I’ll do the litmus test.” Emily laughed and pinched Anya hard.
It bruised slightly; Emily was not known to hold back. “OW”
“Not a dream then.” She concluded, Anya still wincing in pain.
They all bundled back into their cars and drove home, Nanna took the kids home with her and we went back to our apartment, exhausted.
They helped Anya into bed, although they didn’t let her sleep, Emily cooked up some cheese and Worcester sauce sandwiches, their favorites and they gossiped all night long.
The plane landed, not as gracefully as Elijah would have liked, he felt a little sore from the crash still and the flight and guilt had not helped much at all. He found his friend from the fellowship, Billy Boyd waiting for him as he went for his bags. Billy was staying at Lij’s house while he was filming out here.
“You look like shit mate.” Was his friendly greeting.
“Thanks for that.” Grunted Elijah and they packed his stuff into the car.
“How was Liv?” Billy asked
“Shit, I’ve gotta call her, see if Anya got home okay.” He stated.
“What are you on about, you drunken fool?”
“Oi, less of the drunken fool bit. On the way to the airport, I crashed into some poor girls car, she had a nasty cut on her head too, so I took her to Liv’s who was gonna take her home.”
“WHAT?” Billy yelled as he pulled into the space outside Elijah’s.
“Yeah, I wasn’t paying attention, entirely all my fault. I think I totaled her car too.”
“You’re a twat Lij.”
“Remind me again why I’m letting you stay here, free?” he asked pointedly as they heaved his ridiculously heavy bags up the stairs.
