A/N: I have no beta reader so all mistakes are mine. If you wish to help me out in any way my ears and eyes are open to suggestions, this is not my first time writing fan fiction, but I haven’t done it in a while so I am very very very rusty.
A/N: I have no idea if anyone likes this story but I’m getting hits and that’s encouraging, so I have another chapter for you guys if you are enjoying the story. If you like it and wouldn’t mind dropping me a review so I know at least you are indeed enjoying it, I would greatly appreciate that.

Chapter 3
There were crickets chirping and frogs croaking somewhere off in the distance, it was dark in the room now, lit only by a few lamps and candles here and there. A firing was crackling in the fireplace fighting off the chill of night. Las shivered wishing to pull the sheets more closely around himself.
He could here soft voices talking somewhere but could not see the ones whom they belonged to. He looked more closely at his surroundings this time. He was still in the same room which he was relieved to know he had not returned to his hell as he always did when he had these dreams.
The room wasn’t as large as he had originally thought. The bed sat directly across from the fireplace on the other wall on either side of the fireplace there were two doors one led to a bathroom of sorts, he could see a white tub standing in the middle of the room through the crack in the door. The other door he had no idea where it led to maybe a wardrobe or another room he would find out later. Comfortable couches covered in fabrics of rich earth tones sat before the fire place, blankets of animal skin and pillows scattered about the floor all around them, as well as some clothing strewn about the room.
On the wall to his right were wide windows with luxurious curtain hanging from them, they were shut now to keep the room warm. Between those windows were two doors that led onto a balcony. He could see the shadows of three people out there, they must be who he was hearing, he reasoned.
He listened more closely and was elated and relieved to hear the voices of the men who always comforted him. He saw one of them sit down and sigh, the other two turned and walked into the room, shutting the doors behind leaving the other to his thoughts.
Las smiled at them, happy that they were here with him again, and hopefully they would be able to answer his questions. These two were twins, Elladan and Elrohir, identical to most that looked at them, but Las could see a few differences between them. Elrohir’s hair shined a blue black while his brothers shined a warm brown when the light hit it just right, and Elladan eyes were just a tad darker than Elrohir silver eyes. Elrohir was more lightly muscled than his brother, while a mighty warrior in his own right; he spent more time with his Father in the healing wards and in council sessions than out on the practice field training young warriors than his brother did.
The two smiled back at him, Elladan took a seat in the chair next to his bed, Elrohir came over to his side and with Elladan’s help, got Las sitting up and laying comfortably back against some pillows. He pulled a comforter from the end of the bed up to his hips and then settled onto the side of the bed next Las and took his hand in his own.
“How do you feel Las?” he asked softly
Las looked up at him wincing a little as the pain in his body made itself known again.
“I feel confused and scared, my body aches everywhere, and I don’t understand why I’m still here” tears feel down his face, his throat hurt from the effort it felt so dry and scratchy like he hadn’t used it in awhile.
Elladan grimaced in sympathy “I’m sure you have a lot of questions to ask my dear”
Las nodded he did, he just didn’t know where to start. So he started with the first one that came to him first.
“Am…am I dead?” his voice wavering in fear of the answer, he hopped they said yes but at the same time he was afraid to know if he was indeed dead.
The twins looked at each other, sighing deeply Elladan answered
“In a way you are dead, but at the same time you are also alive”
This is even more confusing
*dead but also alive? Does that make me…a zombie?*
Elrohir saw his confused expression and tried to explain it better than his brother had.
“Where you come from you are indeed dead, you didn’t make it through the night…however here you are very much alive, lucky to be alive really. You barely made it through your first night here; your wounds were so extensive. We thought for sure we would lose you before dawn, but the gods were watching over you it seems”
Las stared at him trying to let it all sink in.
*where I come from? But this is just a dream*
“Where I come from? This is all just a dream though, just a place I escape to in my sleep. This can’t be real, I’m going to wake up any moment and this will all be a cruel trick of my mind from a stressful night”
He was sure of it they were just trying to ease his mind.
Elladan sighed again.
“Little Las there is much we need to tell you about why you have been coming here in your dreams…do you remember when you stole that old musty book from the town library when you where younger? It showed you something though you were not aware of it, it showed you another universe one you thought to just exist in your imagination…now this has been heard of before but none have seen it happen in a very long time…”
He paused not sure how to go on, he looked to his brother hoping he could help him.
Elrohir took up where his brother left off.
“there is a theory that all worlds have a parallel universe to their own, and that exist in these worlds have a counterpart in the other world, that is exactly like them in every way except how the live their own lives…it would seem the theory wasn’t far off except that there seemed to be holes in the fabric that separated them, leading to oddities between the two. You Las happen to be one of them, there is no counterpart of you here, there is no hermaphrodite elf with your name and looks. You existed in only one world and when you found that book you became aware of the parallel world to your own, for whatever reason, this knowledge whether you knew it or not allowed you to “escape” as you put it, to this world. We didn’t understand exactly what was happening when we found you out in the forest, nor did we understand why you disappeared when you slept. As we got to know you and your pains we tried to look for an answer, and found some old scrolls same man had written down ages ago. You are not the first to have this problem, and I do not think that you will be the last. The man that had written this had had a similar issue to yours only that he did not have a counterpart in your world, and in his sleep he would go to this place. He must have written books there about the history of this world and left them behind when he died. That must have been how you got a hold of the information of this world.”
Las sank deeper in the pillows, it explained a great deal. But what did that mean? If he no longer existed where he came from but existed here because he had died in that world then…would he now slip away to that old world, that hell when he slept? he didn’t think so from the sounds of it he had been here for awhile according to the twins.
He looked back up to them “what do I do now?”
They smiled back at him.
“Heal, and live your life in peace now”
Just then the door to the balcony opened, and in came his Golden prince. Las’s face lit up with a smile when he saw him. This man was a glorious being to behold, long golden hair pulled back from his youthful face. His movements graceful and his small build hiding how strong he truly was. He came to stand at the end of the bed, Las loved the way he complemented the dark twins, with his golden glow, those sapphire eyes, so different from the stormy grey of the twins, would bring him to his knees each time he looked into them.
Las whispered his name softly awed by his beauty “Legolas…” he did not know what to say to him. He never did, he always tripped over his words when around him. He blushed deeply looking away humbled by his presence.
Legolas grinned at him “methinks you deserve a little peace now, don’t you Las?”
Las looked back up to him “yes, a little peace would be nice”
