Liv
Chapter 3 - Liv
“You can’t drive with that head wound – I’ll take you to my friend’s house, she lives just down the road, she will take you home safely.”
“I have no choice, I am gonna be late because of you & I have to get home, I have responsibilities and you obviously just can’t drive.” She still looked angry, but neither of them noticed the small flash off to one side.
“Please, it will only take a moment. I’ll call ahead; someone will be by to collect your car.”
Anya acquiesced, as she knew she shouldn’t drive like this, it would be dangerous & Elijah called the accident in so her car would be towed away from the wreck site. She got into the passenger side of his car and he drove the short distance back to Liv Tyler’s house. He drove up the driveway and hurriedly explained what had happened to a pale and shaken looking Liv after she had seen his car and Anya’s head. He then left Anya with these words.
“I really am sorry, Miss Reid, I will take care of all of this.”
Anya merely glared at him.
Liv looked her over “Are you sure you don’t want an ambulance? I normally would insist.”
“I can’t, my mum has to go to work and I’m due to look after my little brothers and sister tonight.”
“Is there anyone else who can look after them?” Liv asked kindly
“Possibly my Nan.”
“Come in, use the phone.”
Anya followed Liv inside her expansive home and dialed the familiar number for her Nan and explained what had happened. Liv looked at her expectantly as she lowered the receiver.
“She said she’ll do it.”
“Right, I’m taking you to the hospital then.”
About 10 minutes later, Anya was being led into the emergency room, Liv tried to blend in unsuccessfully and got mobbed, but the doctors and nurses pushed Anya ahead and let Liv have some privacy with her. As Anya was examined and cleaned up, the doctor mentioning what a good job she had done of cleaning the wound, Liv remained at her side.
“You don’t have to stay, it is very sweet of you to do what you have already, this wasn’t your fault.” Anya said quietly.
“I don’t mind, I had nothing to do today anyway. He is sorry you know, I can tell.”
“Maybe if he’d had his eyes on the road, we wouldn’t be here now.”
“Most likely, but we are here, and I’m going to stay until someone else who can look after you arrives.”
“Thank you, that means a lot.” Anya smiled.
They waited for three hours, talking. Liv was surprised that she felt she could talk to Anya so freely, especially after their peculiar meeting and the mobbing in the ER. She began talking about her next project and asking about Anya’s work. When she said that she sold swords for a living at that they had Hadafang in stock (Arwen’s sword from LoTR) she grilled her on her knowledge, finding it very funny. Suddenly, several people burst in to the room.
“Anya! Are you ok?”
“I’m good thanks. What are you all doing here?”
“Came to see you silly.” Came the scathing reply from Emily, her best friend and roommate. Amethyst her other roomie gasped when she saw Liv sitting there, but had enough sense to keep her mouth shut. Unfortunately, the kids didn’t.
“Anya, why is Arwen here?” her little sister Frances asked.
Liv laughed her tinkling laugh and smiled at her.
“I am looking after your sister, but I have to go now.”
She looked over at Anya.
“Here is my number, and she scribbled it down on a piece of paper, call me if you need anything, or if it’s just to ask me to yell at Lij again for you.” She laughed again.
“Thank you. Here is mine, again, if you need anything, I will gladly help after everything you’ve done for me today.”
“Just keep it secret, it’s my personal home line.”
“I will. Thank you.” And with that, Liv Tyler left the room.
