A peculiar slave

Chapter 2: A peculiar slave

Even as Orophin closed in, Legolas scrambled back, “SAES… I do not want this!” The brother couldn’t be bothered by that information it seemed because he still moved forward toward the prince with clear intent.

Rumil sent a confused glance to Haldir, who shrugged for but a moment, “You are a peculiar slave… Tell us your name”

Legolas frowned, “I told you, my name is Legolas Thranduilion”

The proud Marchwarden rolled his eyes in answer, “That is the story you’re sticking to then? I could see how that would gain the King’s wrath… to pretend to be his son to win men into your beds… What insult!”

Orophin grabbed the lithe Elf, dragging him toward him, “Now, do what you do best little slave, or must we tie you up?”

Legolas’ eyes filled with a visible fear, “No… Please… Please no!”

Rumil seemed the most reluctant to make use of the slave, appealing though he was, the situation just seemed odd to him, “I can’t do this, I will join ada… you go ahead”

With that the youngest of the three fled the scene, leaving Legolas to the two older, more experienced brothers, “Haldir, it would seem the little slave doesn’t intent to see us satisfied, it’d seem we must take the satisfaction we wish for”

Taking out his belt, Orophin used it to tie one of Legolas’s hands to his bed post, copied in action a moment later by Haldir, before they used the bed sheets to tie his legs after propping them up and spreading them wide, “There, now, was that so hard?”

Tears streamed down Legolas’ cheeks as he pleaded with them to stop, not do to this, but to no avail as Orophin was already stripping down.

There was a light pause as the door opened and the twins wandered in but froze at what they found even as Legolas whimpered and asked for mercy, “Legolas?”

The blond raised his tear-stained face from the bed even as his cheeks reddened even more.

Haldir raised a brow as he looked at the twins, “What did you call him?”

Elladan was the first to move into action and to the bed, “Legolas, he’s Thranduil’s son… Last we saw him we were… toddlers, but do you not recognize him? The hair, the eyes?”

Elrohir helped his brother as they untied the Elf before they both sent a look of anger at the two Galadhrim, “How dare you?!”

Haldir raised his hands in suggested innocence, “King Thranduil told us he was a slave, a disgrace to the kingdom to be sold into slavery. Lord Celeborn then asked us to test his limits…”

Elladan frowned, “Even when he’s begging you not to do it? To leave him be? Get out of his room. Now. BOTH of you”

The two Galadhrim left in a rush, Orophin barely managing to dress himself before he did as Elrohir pulled out the blanket and covered Legolas up while Elladan softly brushed away Legolas’ tears, “We’re sorry Legolas, we didn’t know…”

The pale Elf under the blanket didn’t answer, instead he simply rolled unto his side and hugged himself.

The twins exchanged a single glance, falling into their unique bond as twins to communicate ~’Dan, How can King Thranduil allow this? His own son!~

His twin seemed to shrug, ~I do not know how anyone could allow this, no one should have to suffer such a thing~

Elladan looked down at the pale Elf, “Legolas… How did this happen?”

The prince of Mirkwood didn’t respond, seeming detached from the world around him.

The twins released a light sigh, just as the door slammed open and king Thranduil stormed into the room, “What is this? You dare refuse service to your guests? You? Who willingly puts all modesty aside to lay with the guards?!”

The twins sat back on the bed with eyes wide in shock, “King Thanduil… it was our request, please do not blame him for this. It was not his choice.”

The Elven king looked at the two in suspicion, but nodded, “Very well, but I would hope he shows proper manner, look at the mess he is now!”

Elladan glanced over at the pale Elf who had seemingly curled up into an even tighter ball at his father’s onslaught, “He does, thank you.”

With that Thranduil left the scene.

~We must help him Elladan, we cannot leave him here if his father treats him this way~

Elladan nodded, then looked at Legolas, “Legolas.. perhaps we ought to get you dressed… Cleaned up…”

Legolas’ eyes widened in fear, causing Elladan to draw back to allow Legolas space so that he wouldn’t feel intimidated or in danger, “I noticed there was blood… You don’t need to tell us what happened, just… let us help you”

The words seemed to spark something within the Elf as he sat up and looked at the twins, “I do not need your pity, or your concern. Just…leave.”

Elrohir stood, offended by the unnecessary rudeness, “Have it your way then”

The dark Elf was halfway out the door before he seemed to realize his brother wasn’t following.

When he looked back Elladan stood next to the bed and spoke softly, “This isn’t about pity… We just wanted to be a friend to you. I’m sorry you cannot see that. We’ll make sure none of the others bother you the rest of the day, if you wish”

Legolas gave a light nod that spoke of immense gratitude as another tear trickled down his cheek that was brushed away by Elladan, “You shouldn’t feel such sadness. You don’t deserve to. I’m sorry your life has taken such a turn… perhaps one day you’ll talk to me about it… If not, that’s fine too”

With that he stepped back and moved away to join his brother, hoping Legolas would take him up on his offer.

As they closed the door behind him, Elrohir shot his brother a questioning glance, “What are you doing?”

Elladan offered a light shrug in answer, “I just… He shouldn’t have to live this way, they treat him as a slave, a disgrace… he’s neither… he’s just.. unlucky because of the things they did to him”

Rumil, the only one of the Lothlorien party still present in the hall, looked at the twins, “I-is he alright?”

Elrohir gave a light nod, “It seems so”

Elladan remained absent words; he wasn’t so sure the prince was as well as others would think. He was no fool, he knew the source of the blood. Most elves wouldn’t survive such a thing and it definitely wouldn’t be a chosen encounter as the King suggested.

In his mind, he made a mission, “We need to find Grandfather”

His twin raised a brow in question, but nodded, “He must be in the dining halls with Rumil’s brothers”

Elladan smiled, “Good, I have a plan in mind”

Meanwhile Legolas moved to his door, locking it before he darted into the bathroom, angry with himself and angry with the world.

Punching the mirror he burst into tears at his own stupidity. No one cared about him. No one.

It would be stupid to think the twins might be sincere.

They too would turn against him in the end. No one had ever shown him kindness without betraying him one way or another.

No one ever had been kind without expecting something in return.

He wouldn't fall for it again.
