The Aftermath
Chapter 2 – The aftermath
"What the fuck do you think you're doing? You had a RED LIGHT!” Even in his alarm at her fury, he noticed her clear English accent.
“I am so sorry; let me call an ambulance, that looks nasty.” He began to pull his phone out.
“Put the goddamned thing away.” Anya snarled “I don’t need a fucking ambulance, I just need your insurance details and quick, I need to go.”
As she said this, she had pulled out a mini first aid kit and cleaned her cut & fastened a large stick-on bandage over her cut. Elijah looked into her eyes and he met her gaze. When she had wiped the remaining blood from her eyes, he saw that flash of recognition and he decided to try to use it to his advantage. He gave her his most winning smile, accentuating those amazing baby blues.
“What the hell are you grinning at?” she yelled.
His plan backfired spectacularly, her eyes blazing with rage.
“You could’ve killed me! I want your insurance details and for you to get out of my sight, before I lose my temper.”
‘Before she loses her temper?’ Thought Lij to himself. He pulled a sheaf of papers from his car, not realizing it was the script for his upcoming film and started noting down the details on the back. She was still fuming as he did this.
“Look, Miss, I am really sorry about this. I live in L.A., so I will give you my card, call me if you need any more details and I will either send them or bring them over for you.”
She accepted the card and glanced at it, then lifted her shirt slightly, Elijah saw her pull a business card holder from her waistband, but he was alarmed to see she also a couple of knives there too. She held out the card, the knives now back out of sight and he looked down at it.
“Anya Reid, that’s a pretty name.” he smiled
“Whatever, Mr. Wood.” she replied, his card in her hand, he smiled inwardly at her attempt to disguise that she actually knew who he was already.
She turned on her heel and clambered with great difficulty back to her car. Elijah’s brain snapped back into gear and he rushed over to her.
