Chapter 19
Echuir (Early spring)
Erestor rose from the bed, anxious to get moving. Seeing that his hervenn (husband) was in no hurry to get up, he slapped Glorfindel on the rump and said, “Time to get up!”
Glorfindel grunted and burrowed under the blanket, mumbling, “It is still dark out.”
Erestor quickly donned his riding clothes and said in exasperation, “It is not either. Now get up, I want to be leaving soon.”
Glorfindel rolled onto his side and propped his head on his hand and said, “If you wanted to leave so early this morning then you should not have kept me up well into the night.”
Erestor could not stop the blush that crept to his cheeks and he replied, “Well, I was not hearing any complaints!”
Groaning, Glorfindel reluctantly rolled out of bed and slowly started getting dressed. By the time he was clothed, he found Erestor already had breakfast ready, and he sat down to eat. He had barely started eating his food when Erestor started to clear the table and the Slayer finally had had enough. Grabbing his mate by the wrist, he pulled him down to sit on his lap. “Meleth (Love), I know that you are eager to return but if I did not know how much that you loved me, I would be hurt that you longed to end our time alone together.”
Erestor gasped, worried that he truly hurt his mate’s feelings and he wound his arms around Glorfindel’s neck, “Hervenn, I am sorry. I just have missed Lindir so and I want Elrond to be at peace. I know how much it has pained him that he could not heal me.”
Glorfindel tightened his arms around Erestor’s waist and said, “Es, I know, but slow down a bit, all right? We will be in Imladris before nightfall.”
The Advisor caressed Glorfindel’s cheek and then gave him a loving kiss. “Have I told you how much I love you this morning?”
Shaking his head, Glorfindel brought Erestor’s lips back to his, “No, but you can show me.”
Erestor deepened the kiss, and he moaned as he felt Glorfindel’s hands caressing his back, rocking against him. Suddenly, leaving was the farthest from his mind as the endless passion he had for his hervenn flared within his veins.

Lindir ran through the halls, weaving through the elves that he passed on his way, and just made it to the top of the stairs that led down into the courtyard when two riders started dismounting. His chest heaving, the Elfling’s gaze latched onto the dark-haired ellon (m. elf) who just turned his way. When Erestor smiled and held out his arms to him, Lindir ran down the steps and leaped into the Advisor’s waiting arms, and in his excitement he gasped out, “Ada (Daddy)!”
Tears welled up in Erestor’s eyes when he heard Lindir’s voice calling him Ada, and he squeezed the Elfling to him and whispered, “Ai (Ah), how I have missed you, merilin nín (my nightingale).”
Glorfindel smiled at his mate and Lindir, and then turned when he heard Elrond call out a greeting. Coming to a stop in front of the Peredhel, Glorfindel placed his arm across his chest and bowed, “Greetings, My Lord.”
Elrond arched his brow at his Seneschal and his formality. “And hello to you, meldir (m. friend). Were you so long gone that you greet me in such a distant fashion?”
Glorfindel chuckled as he drew Elrond into a light hug before saying, “It is great to be home, mellon nín (my friend).”
Elrond glanced eagerly towards Erestor, needing to see that he was well. He then looked back to Glorfindel and said, “I had not expected you two for another couple of weeks.” When Erestor stood once more and faced Elrond, he was truly shocked at how his Advisor looked. No longer were there shadows under those dark eyes, and said eyes shined with a true happiness, and tears came unbidden to the Peredhel’s eyes.
Glorfindel placed his hand upon Elrond’s shoulder and said, “Someone was quite eager to return home.”
Erestor smiled down at Lindir, lightly ruffling the Elfling’s hair, before approaching Elrond. He searched Elrond’s eyes, giving his Lord a welcoming smile, before he embraced him. When Erestor heard Elrond’s shocked gasp, he tightened his arms around his meldir and whispered, “Hannon le (Thank you), Elrond, for everything.”
Elrond gulped, desperately blinking back tears as he buried his face in Erestor’s sable locks. So many emotions went through Elrond that he found himself literally shaking, afraid that this was some dream, one of many that he had where Erestor was finally well and truly healed of his past.
Seeing the look that Erestor gave him and knowing that he wanted some privacy with Elrond, Glorfindel reached down and took Lindir’s hand and said, “Come, Lindir. Would you help me with some of our bags?”
Erestor smiled at his hervenn and when he and Lindir were helping the stable hands to unpack the horses, he linked his arm with Elrond’s and walked towards the Last Homely House. “There are many things that need to be said. So many things that I need to thank you for, Elrond.”
Elrond placed his hand over Erestor’s and spoke softly, “There will be time for that, mellon nín. But tell me, you and Glorfindel, you are bonded?”
Erestor smiled brightly and said, “Yes, we are. He has brought my faer (soul) out of the darkness and back into the light. I love him very much.”
“Erestor…I am so thankful. I mean…it lifts my heart to see you so happy,” Elrond said, stopping to look at his dear meldir.
A tear made its way down Erestor’s cheek as he pulled Elrond forward and placed a kiss upon his brow. “I know, Elrond. I love you too.”
Lindir and Glorfindel walked past Erestor and Elrond and found King Thranduil standing on the top stair that led into the Last Homely House. Bowing, Glorfindel said, “Sire. And how was your winter in Imladris? Did you manage to negotiate a warrior exchange?”
Thranduil nodded, “It went well and yes, but I was told that you would have to make the selection of the first two dozen warriors who will travel back to Mirkwood with me when I leave.”
“Of course,” Glorfindel said, not missing the fact that Garthon was standing not far from Thranduil. Not able to help himself, he asked with a smile, “And did you have anyone in mind for the exchange?”
Thranduil did not miss the look that Glorfindel gave his melethron (m. lover) and he crossed his arms over his chest, “I do indeed. Do I need to challenge you for him, or will you just give him to me?”
Glorfindel paused, as to give it serious thought, and then said, “Well I am not sure…are you sure that he even wants to go with you?”
Thranduil was about to reply to that question when Erestor and Elrond joined them. Erestor heard the last bit of their banter and looked to Thranduil and said, “Good to see you, King Thranduil. I believe I can be of some service to you and your negotiation that you are having with my mate. I am the Chief Advisor, am I not? I think I can persuade our Captain, if the warrior you have in mind agrees, that he will be counted among those that will be part of the first rotation of elves.”
Glorfindel was about to say something but Thranduil did not give him a chance. “Agreed!”
Glorfindel narrowed his eyes as Thranduil practically gloated. He turned to look at Erestor, who just arched his brow and dared him to gainsay him. Vowing that he would have a talk with his hervenn in private later, Glorfindel said, “Come, Lindir, I am weary from our journey. King Thranduil.”
Elrond covered his chuckle with his hand and shook his head as he and Erestor slowly followed Glorfindel and Lindir into the Last Homely House. “You know, Erestor, I never saw you this feisty before,” Elrond said with a smile.
Erestor smirked, feeling more and more like his old self. “Well, you will just have to become accustomed to it, mellon nín.”
Elrond did not try to hide his laugh this time and shook his head, “You impertinent ellon!”
When they reached Erestor’s chambers, Elrond left them to rest, after telling them that he would have a private dinner made so they could dine together and talk some more. Erestor smiled and gave Elrond another hug then entered to find Glorfindel and Lindir putting the packs onto the bed. “Lindir, I have something for you. It should be in here somewhere. I asked Melpomaen to retrieve it for me while I was gone,” the Advisor said as he walked to his desk, spying the beautifully hand-carved wooden box.
Lindir bounded over to Erestor, who sat on the chaise holding a box. Sitting down next to Erestor, he said, “You did not need to get me anything. I already received my kitten. He is perfect and very smart, Erestor.”
Erestor looked at Lindir and saw the joy in the Elfling’s eyes. “I thought you would like him and why not call me Ada?”
Tears came to Lindir’s eyes and he gasped, “You heard me in the courtyard? I did not mean to…”
Erestor quickly asked, “You do not want to call me Ada? I thought that if you were agreeable to it that you could come and live with Glorfindel and me, that we could be a family.”
Glorfindel came and sat next to Erestor and smiled at Lindir, who now had tears falling down his face. “We talked about it and we would very much love to adopt you. Erestor and I love you very much.”
Lindir looked from one to the other, before launching himself into Erestor’s arms, nodding vigorously, “Yes, I would love that. I love you too, Ada, Adar (Father).”
Erestor sighed as tears flooded his eyes and happiness filled his heart. Leaning back into Glorfindel, who wrapped his arms around them both, they all hugged one another, finally filled with peace for the future, knowing that they had each other. Finally Erestor gasped, “All right, your present is pressing into my stomach.”
Lindir sat back and wiped at his face and smiled. “What is it Ada?” he asked when Erestor sat the wooden box onto his lap. He thought he would never tire of calling Erestor and Glorfindel Ada and Adar.
Erestor nodded, “Open it and see.”
Lindir did not need any more encouragement and he slowly swung open the lid and gasped, “It is a pan flute!”
“Yes. I saw how engrossed you were when those Edain travelers had come to Imladris and were allowed to entertain us for supplies. They did not have another instrument with them, and that being their livelihood, could not give me one that they had. I then asked if someone in the Edain Village that we trade with could make me one, and they said that they could,” Erestor said, smiling as he watched Lindir run a finger over the wooden pipes gently, as if he thought it would break.
Lindir carefully picked up the flute and brought it to his lips, gently blowing into it, smiling when a clear note sounded in the air. “Oh, I love this very much! Hannon le, Ada!”
Erestor smiled and asked, “Why do you not go and show it to Linnaton? I am sure that he would be pleased to help you with it. I think Glorfindel and I will rest before dinner. We can ask Elrond then about procuring a larger suite for us to live in, all right?”
Lindir put his flute back into the box and then hopped down off the chaise. He was eager to learn how to play the flute. He also wanted to then work on composing a piece of music just for his new Edair (Fathers). Kissing Erestor, than Glorfindel, he said, “Of course Ada, Adar. I will see you at supper!”
Glorfindel chucked at Lindir’s excitement then stood and drew Erestor to his feet. “Now, meleth, what was that with King Thranduil?”
Erestor walked to the bed and started to move the packs from the bed and said innocently, “I know not what you speak of.”
Glorfindel swung Erestor around and pinned him against the bed and narrowed his eyes down at his mate. “You know very well what I speak of. Now how am I going to punish you for interfering in my Seneschal duties, hmm?”
Joy leapt inside Erestor’s breast as he felt his hervenn’s growing arousal press against his, knowing that he was the cause of Glorfindel’s desire and he said breathlessly, “I am at your mercy. I will take any kind of punishment you decide to hand out.”
“Hmm…” Glorfindel mumbled as he nuzzled Erestor’s neck then he pulled back and said, “Undress.”
Erestor arched his brow as he said, “Meleth, I cannot possibly comply if you do not move.”
Glorfindel slowly stood and took a couple steps back and he fisted his hands at his side as his hervenn started to slowly undress, causing a fire to burn low in his stomach. Finally when Erestor was naked, Glorfindel ordered, “Lay on the bed.”
A shiver raced down Erestor’s spine at the authoritative tone in Glorfindel’s voice and he readily lay back onto the mattress, unconsciously spreading his legs. Heat suffused his body as he watched Glorfindel disrobe, almost chuckling at his mate’s haste. Soon all thoughts of laughter fled his mind as his melethron straddled his hips, causing their arousal’s to rub against each other’s. Arching up against the Slayer, Erestor raised his head, eager for the taste of his meleth’s lips.
Glorfindel dodged Erestor’s mouth, instead he started suckling on his mate’s neck, knowing that to be one of his pleasure spots. He was rewarded with a moan and he slowly made a wet path down to a dusky nipple, taking it into his mouth, playfully nipping and suckling it to a turgid peak.
Erestor threaded his fingers in Glorfindel’s golden mane and moaned as his mate moved down his body, dipping his tongue into his navel. He rejoiced in this. Not only being able to express his love for his hervenn, but to be able to trust once more. To give up his control and allow himself to just feel. Suddenly a tear escaped and he desperately tried to blink them away, not wanting to ruin the moment.
Glorfindel felt Erestor’s body shudder and he looked up and then he was there, kissing away his mate’s tears. “Es nín, mela le (I love you), with all my breath.”
Erestor wrapped his arms around Glorfindel and held onto him tightly and whispered, “Mela le, Fin. I am just so happy. You have made me so very happy.”
Glorfindel suddenly did not want to dominate his mate but to love him slowly, and that is what he did. He ran his fingers over satin skin, already so well known to him. He kissed and caressed every inch of Erestor’s body, and Glorfindel knew that he would never get enough of his hervenn. When he pressed into his mate, they both cried out as their thoughts and feelings came together in a fiery union, and tears fell freely as they knew that this was how it would be for all time.
