Sugar rush
What’s wrong with Dom?
Disclaimer: Not true, all made up, although I wish it wasn’t so!
Sugar rush - part one
Nervously Dom tapped his foot on the floor. He would’ve chewed his nails, but no...chewing nails was really gross and nail polish between his teeth? Dom shuddered. He didn’t even want to think of that.
Billy had wanted to come with Dom, but Dom had asked him to wait for him at home. //Let me be the bearer of bad news if it must be...//
Dom was ripped away from his thoughts as a man in his mid-thirties entered the room. “Good morning, Mr Monaghan! I’m Dr. Axel Schweiß.” He gave Dom his hand who was very hard trying not to laugh out loud.
“Sorry, doctor,” he coughed. “Is this a made-up name or do you have really cruel parents?”
Dr. Schweiß grimaced. “They thought it was a really funny and unusual name...” He shook his head. “It really isn’t. You speak German?”
Dom nodded. “I grew up there. We moved to England when I was 12. I forgot much of what I learned though...”
“Hmmm...” Dr. Schweiß scratched his head. “My name is pretty much the reason why I moved here,” he joked. “People don’t understand it...” He sat down on his chair. “So, Mr Monaghan... Back to business!”
“Please call me Dominic,” Dom said. “Mr Monaghan’s my father and I don’t really respond to it that well.”
“Dominic.” Dr. Schweiß nodded. “Well, as you probably remember we ran you through quite a lot of tests and we have found out what causes the problems you have described.”
“I hope it’s nothing serious,” Dom mumbled, smiling nervously, but Dr. Schweiß didn’t smile back.
“I’m sorry, Dominic,” he said. “You have a serious disease, but the good thing is that we can help you lead quite a normal life.”
Dom nodded numbly, biting his lip. “Sorry, I didn’t get the name of what I have. What was it again?”
“I didn’t tell you yet,” Dr. Schweiß reminded Dom. “You have diabetes mellitus.”
Mental images of injections and having to weigh your food before you can eat it filled Dom’s mind. “What...what does that mean?”
“It means that your body is resistant against insulin. Insulin normally burns sugar and transforms it into energy,” Dr. Schweiß explained. “Your body simply lacks energy, that’s why you’re feeling so tired lately.” He took a pen and tipped it against his own neck. “These dark marks here on your skin indicate, too, that your body produces way too much insulin.”
Dom frowned. “But I thought that...I always thought that diabetics don’t produce enough insulin and...”
“There are different kinds of diabetes,” Dr. Schweiß interrupted Dom. “You haver a kind that mostly people older than 50 have.”
Dom was looking a little pale. “Well, now my true age is revealed,” he tried to joke lamely.
Dr. Schweiß sighed and put his pen down. “Dominic,” he said. “The situation is not as hopeless as it sounds. You will have to take pills and avoid sugar and fat in your food, but you will be able to lead a normal life if you follow the rules set to you.”
Dom nodded hesitantly. “Ok...”

Billy jumped up from the sofa and put the book he had tried to read to the side when he heard Dom’s keys in the lock. He held his breath when Dom appeared in the door, looking more tired and lost than ever.
The corners of Dom’s mouth twitched when he tried to smile, tears glistening in his red rimmed eyes. “Com’ere,” he whispered in a flat voice choked by tears and stepped into the open circle of Billy’s arms, who had walked closer to meet Dom.
“What’s wrong, baby?” Billy asked softly as Dom was sobbing against his chest. Slowly he started to stroke his lover’s back in soothing circles. “Dommie? Talk to me!” Billy’s stomach clenched in fear. “Dom! What did the doctor say? Please, love! You’re scaring me!”
“Sorry...” Dom lifted his head and angrily started to wipe the tears from his eyes. “I’m overreacting.” Dom shrugged his shoulders. “I’m just a diabetic and will have to live with that for the rest of my life,” Dom sniffled. “It’s not that bad really...” Dom tried to assure Billy, but his breaking voice betrayed him.
Billy wrapped his arms closer around his lover. “It’s alright, baby. You may cry... It’s okay... You don’t have to do this alone, I’m here...”
TBC....
P.s.: For those who aren’t speaking German and didn’t get the joke: “Axel Schweiß” or rather “Achselschweiß” is the German word for sweaty armpit. It’s one of those stupid names we made up as kids and I just had to call the doc that!!
Sugar rush – part 2
Summary: Females and their clothes, healthy food and nosy parents...and not to forget the needy Hobbits in here!
Disclaimer: Not true! I hope I got the facts about the diabetes right in the last chap. I have heard it a hundred times in German and also in Finnish, but never in English. Please forgive me any mistakes!
Sugar rush – part 2
“Eliza?” Dave stared down at the big suitcase and the bags in his daughter’s room. “Are you sure you’ll need this stuff?” he asked when Eliza´appeared from the bathroom. “I mean we’re only going to stay for a few days!”
Eliza walked past her father and stashed her shower gel in one of the bags. “Dad!” she sighed. “I’m female. We need all that stuff in such a short amount of time! What if it rains? Or if it is really hot? How could I know?”
“That’s what pullovers are made for, sunshine,” Dave pointed out, pulling up his eyebrows in amusement. “You need to dress in layers, not in whole different outfits!”
Eliza smiled. “Sure, dad... If you say that...”
“Come on, love,” Dave said and tried to steer her away from the bags. “You really need to go to bed now. The flight is very early in the morning!”

“Here, love,” Billy smiled as Dom sat down at the kitchen table. After Dom had calmed down the evening before, Dom and Billy had spent the time going through the boks Dr. Schweiß had given Dom to inform him about his disease. No sugar, no fat, no alcohol, no...
“No ketchup?” Dom frowned. “How on earth am I supposed to eat French Fries without ketchup?!” He stared up at Billy in confusion. “I mean that’s like a hamburger without meat!”
Billy smiled apologisingly. “Sorry, love, but you’re not supposed to eat those two either. You know, fast food is not exactly healthy...”
“Oh...” The expression on Dom’s face darkened.”It’s not as difficult as I thought to avoid ketchup then...”
Billy put a bowl down in front of Dominic. “Porridge,” he explained when Dom looked up at him with questioning eyes. “Tasty and definitely healthy.”
“Thanks...” Dom grimaced as he looked down at the greyish-brown food and forced a mouthful down his throat. “So this is the first day of the rest of my life...”

“Molly,” Beanie smiled warmly when his second oldest daughter stepped through the door and kissed her cheek before he let go of her. “How are you, darling? How’s work?”
“Quite good now that I’m on a holiday,” Molly grinned in response and stepped to the side to let Henry in.
“Hi, step-mom!” Henry laughed as Beanie captured him in a bear-hug. “Yes, I’ve missed you, too...”
“Bastard...” Beanie growled mock-angrily and ruffled Henry’s long hair. “Your dad’s in the backyard doing some of his crazy stuff if you want to say hello to him,” Beanie said and took Molly’s and Henry’s suitcases. “I’ll bring these to your rooms and then we can talk...”
“Dad calls his crazy stuff as you say to it art...” Henry reminded Beanie and started walking to the door that lead to the backyard. “Dad!” Henry called when he saw Viggo who was painting. “Leave whatever you are doing and greet your son!”
He smiled when Viggo just waved with a handful of brushes. “Hi, offspring!” Viggo continued painting. “Just a minute... It will be finished in a moment!”
Henry nodded and walked closer. Knowing his father he decided that a minute could be everything between 30 seconds and one hour.
“The blue and that yellow, aren’t they just perfect together?” Viggo asked in awe, painting at the canvas with his brush. “They give this painting such a lot of meaning!”
“Sure, dad,” Henry answered, not wanting to start a discussion with his father. “I brought Molly,” he added, hoping that Viggo would maybe feel himself reminded of his good manners and follow him into the house.
“You’re still not together?” Viggo asked instead and pulled one of his eyebrows up in amusement as he watched Henry squirm with embarassement.
“Dad!” Henry hissed. “Molly and I are not in love with each other. She’s just a mate...like Jonathan!”
“...like Jonathan with boobs,” Viggo completed Henry’s sentence, grinning evilly. “So you’re not a couple?”
Henry shook his head and Viggo sighed. “Any other girls then?” he wanted to know and put his brushes away, deciding that he could leave the painting dry for a while. “Or boys?” Viggo’s grin broadened when Henry’s eyes widened in shock. “So what?” Viggo exclaimed. “Beanie was straight, too, and look at him now! He’s parctically begging me to shove my...hello Molly!” Viggo hugged the younger woman closely. “I was just telling Henry about this great cake-recipe! So you shove it into the oven and bake it for about 25 minutes, understood?”
“Sure,” Henry nodded, thankful that Molly had come to search them. His dad really could be one nosy bastard.

Dom weighed the white pill in the palm of his hand and then put it between his teeth before he washed it down his throat with a glass of water. “Fuck...” he coughed. “I’ll never learn to swallow these damn things!” he grumbled and put the glass back on the table.
“Patience, Dommeh,” Billy sighed as he set the table. “Full-grain noodles, tomato-sauce and salad.” He handed Dom a plate.
“Am not all that hungry...” Dom mumbled, pushing the food back nad forth on his plate with his fork.
Billy frowned. “Please eat. You need the food.”
“I don’t need food,” Dom shok his head and let his fork fall down. “I need you...” he whispered and bent forward over the table to capture Billy’s lips in a soft kiss. “Need you so badly...”
“When Billy stood up, Dom was already in his arms, clinging to Billy’s neck as if it was a rope that safe him from drowning in the sea. They fell to the ground with a harsh yelp as they stumbled against each other, not caring as the pain of the impact was transformed into pure pleasure.
“Billy...” Dom mumbled against soft lips as his hands were fumbling on Billy’s clothes. He needed to feel naked skin...needed it so badly...
Billy moaned softly when he felt Dom’s soft lips on his naked chest, a pink tongue darting out and licking teasingly over his nipples and Billy felt his resistance melt away like butter in the hot summer sun. His arms reached out blindly to help Dom free himself from what Billy thought was totally unnecessary clothing. He needed to feel Dom, needed to know that Dommie was alright.
“Christ...” Dom sighed when he was finally naked as well, the friction his skin created on Billy’s nearly unbearable. “Love you...” Dom mumbled as he sat up and positioned himself over Billy’s ragingly hard cock. “Love you so fucking much...”
Billy couldn’t see, couldn’t think as he felt tissue being parted, Dom slowly lowering himself until Billy’s erection was completely ensheathed inside of him. Billy could only moan, his head thrashing back and forth as his hands reached out involuntarily to settle on Dom’s narrow hips, to hold the younger man in place until Dom had adjusted to the feeling of being filled completely and was now rocking impatiently back and forth in Billy’s lap.
Dom let heave lidded eyes fall shut as he started to fuck himself on Billy, moaning with every thrust that went right there...right where he needed it. “Billy...” he whimpered in a needy voice as the world unshaped around him, all the colors melting into one. “Billy...” he repeated, his voice sounding a little shaky as Billy started to pump Dom’s cock in the rhythm of their thrusts. Dom bent down until he was lying on Billy, tilting his head to place a soft kiss on Billy’s opened lips. “Claim me...” Dom begged and looked down at his lover from wide eyes.
Billy couldn’t help but obey as he flipped himself and Dom around and started thrusting into Dom like mad. “Mine...” he growled low in his throat as he listened to the incoherent sounds pouring from Dom’s parted lips.
The world was spinning around Dom. Spinning and fading so quickly that Dom couldn’t do anything about it. “Billy,” Dom whispered weakly as everything darkened around him.
~*~
“Dom! Dominic!” Billy was shaking his lover’s shoulders. “Don’t do this to me, love!” Billy’s voice was pitching higher as the panic seemed to overwhelm him. “Dommie! Fucking wake up!” Billy was nearly crying with relief when full lips twitched and grey eyes fluttered open.
“What happened?” Dom asked weakly, fighting to stay conscious. He was feeling weak, so weak...
“You bloody fucking passed out on me, that’s what happened!” Billy cursed and jumped up to get some apple-juice. “Fucking low blood-sugar,” Billy mumbled as he nursed the juice to Dom. “Jesus, Dom! I hope you now understand why you have to eat regularly!”
Dom nodded weakly, cursing himself for being so dependant on food.
