A sweet surprise

Chapter thirteen a sweet surprise

Haldir woke when he hit the floor with a loud thud. His sleeping movements had rolled him off Celeborn and he had lost his balance and fell. Slowly gaining his senses he rubbed his arm and wondered why he always fell on his arm.

Realising where he was he looked at Celeborn, who still sound asleep. To Haldir it was the most beautiful sight he could have, at any time of day. He wanted to stand so he could carry his sleeping lover to the bed, but his leg stopped him from carrying it out. Their love making had put some strain on his leg and now it refused to cooperate.

Before Haldir was aware of it he had already fallen down, landing atop Celeborn, who woke with a shock. But he smiled when he saw Haldir.

“Ercië ilmára, Haldir, an ni vá oloré. Loi autuvalyen. Lle ná alcanya. Lle terecénië terë lómë. Ellë tellumavë tulyanen i arinna. Ellë rénya, Haldir, calanya ar elentínya. Lle auhirnë i lumboli yana tápinar indonyan mihísië. Ni orë ar fëa nauvar oialë ëa mi canwalya.”

That being said Celeborn drew his blushing lover close for an all-consuming kiss, stopping it only when Haldir hissed in pain.

It was his leg. The pain was getting worse. Celeborn stood and pulled Haldir to him, making sure the leg carried no weight. “Come, Rénya, to the bed and then I will go fetch the healer. It needs some more potion, I fear.”
ldirldir was reluctant to let him go, fearing the moment Celeborn stepped out the door he would wake up. And he didn’t want to. It all was so surreal to him. But the pain that kept throbbing in his leg made him aware that he was very much awake and that this had to be true.

The last remainders of his doubt faded away and his heart fluttered freely in his chest. Had his leg not pained him he would have jumped and danced around like a madman, but now he sat on the bed, patiently waiting for his love to return. He softly cried as he remembered Celeborn’s words and his latest endearment. He was so happy he started singing again and once again he didn’t hear the feet in the corridor.

Celeborn had easily found the healer and had dragged him along instantly. And now that he was back he smiled. Haldir looked so lovely and astonishingly beautiful and Celeborn felt his heart awaken more and more. Hearing Haldir sing reminded him of how he had walked in on him singing before, but he was glad he had. If he hadn’t, they probably wouldn’t have this now. It had brought them together.

The healer smiled as well, albeit for a different reason. He had wondered why Celeborn seemed to have dressed in a hurbut but now he knew. One look had been enough to inform of wof what had happened. Mad passionate love; that’s what. And he was glad. Now he could stop worrying about Celeborn and Haldir and give it to the others.

After tending to Haldir’s leg the healer left, but not without voicing his joy. “I whish the two of you all the happiness together.” He bowed to leave, but Celeborn called him back.

“What do you mean?” His voice sounded stern.

The other merely looked at Haldir and then waved his hand around the room. “If you wish to keep this a secret then I suggest you clean up afterwards, my lord. But I doubt that will do any good.” A growl told him Celeborn was not pleased and demanded a better answer. “Your eyes. They give the both of you away. There’s life in them again. And you both shine brighter than I’ve even seen you do. Till later.” He quickly made himself scarce. Out of harms way.

Celeborn groaned and sat down on the bed weary. He hadn’t thought of the consequences. He didn’t care what people saw or what they thought, but he wasn’t the only one in this relationship and Haldir might want to keep it a secret. “My lord?” Haldir’s voice woke him up and he faced his lover, a stern expression on his face.

It puzzled Haldir. For a second he feared Celeborn was mad at him for this, but then he realised his words. “Celeborn.” Immediately he saw a smile appear. He smiled too. “It will be a while before I remember. Old habits are hard to break. And you -are- my lord. In every way.”

“You could think of a better endearment. This one is way too dangerous. I could get aroused hearing other say it. And then what would we do?” Celeborn figured some jokes would break the last doubts Haldir might still have.

“Make them address you differently?” Haldir smiled. He realised they were sharing their first lover’s talk.

“And how would we achieve that?,” Celeborn made his voice sound official as he uttered his next words, “I am sorry, everybody, but because my lover insist on using my title as endearment, you will have to think of something else.” He laughed openly. “Now that will be something, Haldir, you calling me my lord, and others, let’s say Thranduil calling melmë.”

“Never!” Haldid shd shouted it out with force. Enough to surprise them both. “I do not share you with the entire world. Let alone a Mirkwood elf. Couldn’t you have picked a better example? You silly elf.”

“Ah, insults is it? From my lord to silly elf. What’s next I wonder.”

“Impatient one, you’re not even giving me time to think and I want to give you a fitting name.” Haldir was enjoying himself. He never would have believed it if anyone had told him he would be having these conversations with Celeborn. He loved it too much to end it by voicing his endearment. And so was Celeborn. He remembered the words spoken when they made love, but he wasn’t going to remind Haldir of it. “You’ve had millennia to think of one and I am not giving you enough time?”

Even though his words had been a joke they still filled Haldir’s eyes with tears. Celeborn instantly regretted his words and pulled his lover into his arms. “Oh, I am so sorry. I should have known better than to say that. My mouth leads his own life around you, it seems.”

Haldir smiled in his chest. “I think I should change Mithril aranin to Linta lamba”

“And that brings the score to four.” Celeborn kissed Haldir on the head and looked at him dotingly. “Too bad your leg will keep you in my bed longer. Your brother’s will have to start teaching the others how to fight without you, I fear. But I prefer you here anyway.”

Haldir drew him into another passionate kiss. Now that he finally had his love he could not get enough of him. And this kiss demanded more.

Any other time Celeborn would have pleased his lover, but not now. The healer had just left. He pulled back. “I am sorry melmë, but not today, not with your leg. We’ll just have to wait a couple of weeks.” He laid down aade ade Haldir decide who was going to hold who.

Haldir just turned on his side, ensnared one arm beneath Celeborn and made him face him. He preferred it if they held each other. Blissful sleep soon claimed them. They both had some healing to do.

“Finally. Took them long enough.”

Behind his back Vairë smiled. Mandos had been unbelievably annoying the last couple of days. He had constantly kept an eye on Haldir and Celeborn but every momead bad brought him more annoyance.

They still didn’t voiced their love, and it nearly drove him mad. Not even informing Celeborn had done much good.

But now that the two had finally made love Mandos was happy. Two elves he didn’t have to welcome any time soon.

He looked at his wife and saw her weaving. He recognized the image. “What? Vairë, dear, that’s not going to hang in my halls. That’s too personal and…”

“O, calm down. This is for me. I have been staring at that painting,” she pointed to an old and dusty drawing on the other wall, “for more than eons and I want something new. And this is it.”

Her hands worked fast and soon more was becoming visible. Mandos furrowed as he saw what appeared next. “What’s that?”

“Don’t tell me you don’t know a baby when you see one?”

He growled. Of course he did. “What’s it doing there?”

Vairë played with his mood. “Sleeping, or so it seems.”

“aaaaaaaaaaaah.” After releasing his growl Mandos marched out of the room. He was going to see the dead. At times like this they gave more support than his wife.

MEANS
No need to poke me, Haldir, because I’m no daydream. I will never leave you. You are my ray of light, you’ve guided me through this night. You alone guided me safely to the light. You are my day, Haldir, my light and my shining star. You’ve pushed the dark clouds that blur my mind away. My heart and soul will forever be in your command.
Note:
Oloré comes from olor + ré

Rénya means my day

Mithril aranin means mithril king

Linta lamba means swift tongue

Another note:
Hi there everybody,

Just letting you know I am still alive (yes lucky me) and back from holidays. Pfffffff.

I am getting back into the tale, but i am afraid it will be a little longer before I update.

AND:
I have a beta!!!!!!!!!! So somewhere between now and someday I will update it to a betaed version.

Last change to make request for the tale (hihihi)

Love you

Peniel

PS thanks for reviewing, and sorry I do not respond but I constantly forget that. (my head is full of holes)

PS to Dee and Bonnie:
you got this far so you must like this corpse. So either shut up or stop reading. And if you are THAT curious: I made the wrong name myself and then cheched if it was correct. In the Tolkien lexicon. It was. But abviously both me and the book were wrong, for which I am still ashamed. And it's haunted me ever since so I've been flapping through it like mad and found a tiny, tiny note on that. It gave mention of a misprint and guess what: Celeborn's name. Finally I can get some sleep.
And if the two of you are that curious where I get my info from:
- Tolkien’s books, still busy reading, so I still don't know all.
- Tolkien Lexicon
- Quenya Course

And (for the tenth time) I am not too lazy to write down the translations of the elvish tongues (see for yourselves you disbelievers) but if I give the glossaries as well it would become too much, in my opinion. If you (Dee and Bonnie for instance) really desire to have it: I’ve told you already so many times: mail me and I’ll send it to you.

And Yeah I delete bad commentsoughough I only did that once) to get my frustration out (better than writing further with an angry mind, no?), but since you don’t want me to do that I do it like this. Tuff luck for you. And if you two really feel my tale is dead, than why are you reading a corpse???????

I can take the heat but I can also spit back fire.

For the last time:
IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN MY TALES THAN DON'T READ THEM. BUT DON"T SEND ME NASTY MESSAGES.
