Cool. Not that I expected Faramir to NOT take advantage of the situation, but... ;)

Just out of curiosity, why did he even bother to kiss her when he thinks of her as animal? I thought it was contradictory to the actions that followed (just a bit). Not that I don't think it was fun to READ...mwahahahahaaaa. I understand what he did now, and I appreciate the level of complexity involved in his actions. They threw me off guard, especially in the last chapter. And I thought I knew thee! Snerk. You'd think that if he wasn't a bit obsessed with the pretty elf that he would simply off her and drag in a few local maidens, though. How does he really feel? (Is the Palantir telling him to do her---er, I mean, it?)

I think what I was trying to say yesterday when the damn script ate my review was that knowing that Faramir was ill and that complying with his guards would only make things worse, it seemed somewhat OOC for Legolas to go quietly to the dungeons to await almost certain death. True, it is easier to fool your enemy when they've let their guard down and think they have you right where they want you--as opposed to organizing a tireless and exhaustive manhunt throughout the city--but the clincher is, I doubt the king's men WOULD let down their guard over a suspected/condemned murderer. Legolas is going to have a tough time breaking out of the slammer.

Since he can beat human after human without tiring and fight off a small army single-handedly, I expected him to knock all of the guards out, put Faramir in a chokehold, threaten him, and flee to some hiding place in the castle when he heard the footfall of more guards approaching...I think I just fed myself a new plot for my own story. XD

Regardless, I felt sorry for Aragorn for the first time. EVER. Poor little evil bastard king. *pets him*

Aragorn: Thanks...HEY!

P.S. PLEASE poke Elven to work on her stories, including her current one, WH, and a sequel to the Fallen (if that was she and not you). And whatever happened to In Darkness And In Doubt? Was that the one that had seven chapters written but was never finished, where Legolas' travelling companion was abused, Aragorn was killed and Legolas had to deliver the ring before it started to influence him and turn him dark? I am sorely tempted to write sequels for you and dedicate them to you two because my mind needs them to happen that badly, but my Sindarin is a bit rusty, and it just wouldn't be the same. ;)

Valawen's chapter 20 to do list:
======================

1. Get a grip of myself.
2. Find my brain.
3. Whack Faramir over the head with a frying pan (they do have frying pans in ME, don't they?!). Bl*** bastard.
4. Free the adorable blonde elf dude.
5. GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!
6. Have sex with elf dude.

:D

What a ride, what a story! Keep it coming, Frosty, keep it coming!

Hey you warned about the character death, but please don't kill Legolas. I can only take so much.. But great story, now I am really on the edge of my chair.

OH.MY.GOD.

OK, I must admit that I was probably sitting on my brain when I read chapter 17. I just didn't get what Faramir was up to with the bloody knife and why he would want it to be hidden in Legolas' room. The reason I didn't realize his motives was the fact that I thought he was looking for an ally in Legolas not a scapegoat. And then, for some reason BEFORE I started reading chapter 18 just now it hit me and my jaw dropped! That really was such a clever twist (even though it took me longer then everybody else to realize that, lol!). Who would have thought Faramir had it in him and even outdid Aragorn when it came to wickedness and plotting? ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! You know what I said about the unpredictability of a good story. Well (apart from me being on the slow side this time *g*), this was VERY unpredictable! :)

Oh and: YOU KILLED ARAGORN!!!!!! *hugs Ranger, albeit only her book and movie ranger*

I cannot think of a single of your story where you have been this bloodthirsty and oh what fun it is. *g*

Shorter chapters get you more reviews, eh? Now do you include those reviewers who complain about the shorter chapters? *grins*

Short, yes, but so full of promised (dare I say it?) dooooom … *lol* Will Legolas’ words ring true? Will Faramir fail in his attempt to frame our favorite Mirkwood prince? And if Brenar has doubts, others will, too. And let’s not forget Valawen, she’s just barely holding on as it is, she may crack at any time and spill EVERYTHING!

Do you hear that? It’s the wind, howling, “Dooooooooom …” *cue ominous music* muahaha

...

O.o

OH MY GOD. You can't just leave us there!!!!!

This is torture.

It's also the first time I've ever enjoyed a shorter chapter so much. Despite the few words spoken, everything that led up to V's conversation with F has led to these careful choices of words.

And so the death toll rises again in the White City...maybe. *pause* ARGH!

Wow! I didn’t expect THAT! Seems I was right, Aragorn didn’t control Faramir as much as he thought. I love all these little plot twists and turns, this is so much fun!

Eomer in the cave with Boromir and Haldir? Mm-mm-mm-mm… If I don’t review for a while, you’ll know where to find me! *vbg*

Wow, this is seriously messed up! But I like it...

I am new to the LOTR fan fic and your story really held my attention.
The writing is concise( I really appreciate the lack of overwrought dialogue) and by sticking close to canon it seems more believable.
Very interested in see ing what happens next.
