*Whoa*!

Legolas fights back! YAYYYYY!!!!!!

Please, please, please, don't let those stablehands take it out on Laniell! *begs*

This was a nicely done chapter.... we really see too much of Legolas sobbing, whimpering, begging, etc. but we don't really get all that much insight into what's going on in his mind (not to mention that we haven't seen him fight back much against the abuses heaped on him!) These last two chapters have given us a nice interior look, thanks. And I'm *so* pleased (relieved?) that he has enough integrity left to not let just anyone abuse him.

Now the question is, is Glorfindel going to continue to be totally clueless? Is he going to realize that something happened, and if so, is he going to be able to make Legolas confess all the abuse that he is taking from the rest of the Imladris Elves? And if so, what is he going to do about it? Will it make him examine his attitude towards Legolas, and change at least his public interactions with him?

And if Glorfindel *doesn't* realize what just happened, are those two stablehands going to make another attempt on Legolas? (I'm rather surprised Legolas got away, to be honest...)

Another cliffhanger here (though not nearly so torturous and dramatic as the last one)...

Finally, a criticism if I may.... (What? You say that everything I write is *already* criticism? lol...) I was under the impression that Legolas/Glorfindel had come directly back to their rooms, and from thence, directly out to the garden. So I was very surprised to see Legolas in a tunic and leggings, as opposed to wearing the robe from the library scene. (This seems to be another instance of what, IMHO, seems to be occasional continuity/pacing problems. There have been other chapters where I thought that things were continuing timewise directly (or at least same-day) from the last chapter, but then I discovered that weeks or months must have passed. It's confusing and disconcerting.)

Anyway, please update soon!

*dang, I wish we could edit our reviews, so I wouldn't have to keep adding on!*

I was just over at ff.net reading *their* reviews, and yes, just why *did* Glorfindel take the food back to the room, instead of outside in the garden? See, another continuity thing....

(And I agree with some of the reviewers over there... I still wish we could have seen Glorfindel pound those two into the dust!)

@elflover *blushes* Damn, you're right about the robe. I'll fix it and then repost the chapter. Thanks for pointing it out!
About Glorfindel returning to their room: this is a case of me knowing exactly what the layout of the garden and the buildings is like and therefore failing to describe it appropriately. Actually, when Glorfindel left Legolas in the garden to fetch the cakes, he entered their rooms and then went to the kitchen from there... looks like there's another candidate for fixing and reposting. ;)

I wish I could say that I'd post the next chapter today and so answer your questions with it, but I fear this will have to wait one more day since I'm too tired for writing right now. Still, something you'll probably be glad to hear is that I've almost reached the end of Anestel, perhaps two or three more chapters and then Anestel will end -- although the story won't, it will be continued in a sequel. I feel the need for a shaine, ine, since that sequel will deal with several changes, mostly concerning Legolas, his behaviour and his relationship with Glorfindel. I won't tell too much right now, but for those who are wondering -- this is not going to turn into an endlessly repeating bdsm pwp. There'll be changes... but then, d/s is one of my major kinks, so this story won't grow into your usual fluffy happy end fic either. Legolas still has a long way to go. :)

Esteliel -- no updates today? *sobs!* Really, you just keep torturing us!

For all my complaints, I almost fear coming to the end of "Anestel" so quickly -- I am concerned that it will be too abrupt, without any resolution. (Yes, I do understand that you want to achieve some sort of logical break before proceeding to the next step/stage.) I am also concerned as to which of several stories you are going to pick up next -- if you wander off on a side story, or the Elrohir-in-Mirkwood story, that will be the equivalent of a *very long* cliffhanger to those of us addicted to this storyline -- I don't think we'd be able to stand the suspense, before getting back to Legolas' story! *whimpers*

Come to think of it, you have an awful lot to tie up in *this* remaining story....

The two stablehands, and the general attitude of the Imladris Elves towards Legolas,

Whatever secret Legolas is trying to hide from Glorfindel,

That punishment that Glorfindel has been hanging over Legolas head....

I don't see how you're going to tie all that up gracefully in two or three short chapters. And, having teased your readers with all this, I think that you kind of owe it to us to address the issues in a sufficiently detailed fashion (please, unlike the handling of the treaty....) Attending to and neatly resolving/tying up all the background and plot details enriches the story. Trying to just brush on by with a few sentences... it's unsatisfying.

About 3 more chapters huh?Are you going to put at least on how Glorfindel will raise his son?I mean,I don't want Legolas to be treated as such while their son is growing up in Rivendell. Will the son be like his sire? What about the treaty?
