The Lost Queen Of The Elves

The Lost Queen Of The Elves
By Mistress Brandybuck

Rating: NC17
Pairings: Legolas/Ilya (OFC)
Summary: Exactly the title, The lost Queen of the elves
Warnings: sex, violence, the usual.
Disclaimer: Legolas and other elements of this story do not belong to me, they belong to J.R.R Tolkien, the real Lord of the Rings, but the characters of Princess Ilya, Salandrum/Larolan and Lord Drimville belong to me.
Note: I started writing this fic at Christmas and I haven’t done anymore since, cos I went hobbit crazy, but if I get any reviews I may try to finish it. Some of my inspiratfor for this story has been taken from the movie Legend starring Tom Cruise and the character of Lord Drimville is partly based on The Sheriff of Nottingham (for his humor which normally wouldn’t be portrayed in a story such as this) from the movie Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves starring Kevin Costner.

Prologue – The story so far

A Child Is Born

In the land of Rivendell kingdom of the elves, a child was born one day. Princess Ilya, the second daughter of Lord Elrond and his wife Celebrian. At this time of celebration a great party was held, to welcome the new Princess.

Great elves came from a far to see the new Princess. One was Prince Legolas of Mirkwood. The princess’s mother took a liking to the young elf. At 1,500, he was very greatly skilled in combat.

In the halls of The House of Elrond, one by the one the elves hovered past the baby’s crib to take a look at the beautiful new elf. Legolas stopped and glanced at the child, she had a full head of blond hair, the same color as his own. Just then the baby looked up and smiled at him. Her mother leaned towards Legolas

‘She likes you’ she whispered to him. Legolas smiled back and walked back into the crowd. Little did he know that this event would change his life forever.
‘My Lady has an announcement to make’ Lord Elrond called to the audience.
Celebrian stepped forward and picked up the baby Princess
‘It has come to my attention’ she began ‘that at times like these, guidance in the world is very important. Therefore it is my decision that the Princess needs someone to watch over her, someone to guide her through life, and most importantly a friend, to look up to.’
Everyone stood silent awaiting the words of the lady
‘Legolas of Mirkwood, please step forward’
Legolas did so without hesitation
‘You shall take on this task’
‘Yes my Lady’ Legolas answered.
‘And your first task is to bond with her’
Legolas smiled as she handed the Princess to him. The baby clasped her fingers around the material to his tunic. Legolas immediately felt protective of the child.
‘You can take her upstairs if you want’ Celebrian told him.
Legolas obliged and walked out of the room.
‘I don’t think we’ll see him for the rest of the night’ Celebrian said to her husband
Upstairs Legolas sat in a chair with the Princess cradled in his arms.
The baby suddenly reached up and grabbed hold of the necklace arohis his neck.
‘You like that do you’
He took it from around his neck and placed it in the baby’s hands
‘Then it’s yours Milady’ he said placing a kiss on her forehead.

The Child Years

‘Legolas is coming, Legolas is coming’ Princess Ilya screamed running down the stairs.
‘Now miss’ said her old nursemaid Arnella ‘don’t you be bothering master Legolas and don’t you be getting your dress dirty. Please child, act like the maiden you are’
‘What are you talking about, I am a graceful maiden and besides he’s here to se me’ the 6 year old Princess insisted.
She ran out into the courtyard, no sooner had Legolas got off of his horse, the princess had flung herself into his arms.
‘Vedui (Greetings) Prince Legolas’
‘Vedui dess (Greetings young) Princess Ilya’ he put her down
‘Why do you call me young’
‘Because you are’ he replied leading his horse to the stable boy.
‘Teach me how to fight’ the Princess insisted
‘Come now miss why do you wish to fight’ he asked
‘Because I want to be like you’
‘Well what if I want to be like you little miss’
‘What do you mean’?
‘Teach me how to play your games’
‘All right, I’ll race you to the mud swamp’
Before Legolas could speak the feisty child had run out of the gate, Legolas chased after her.
‘I don’t think your father will be too happy if you get your clothes dirty’
But it was too late; she was already submerged in the mud. Legolas laughed, by the time he took her back the were both covered from head to toe in mud
‘Oh good gracious. Master Legolas you should know better’ Arnella scolded
‘Indeed I should’ Legolas replied ‘but why not indulge a child’s imagination’. He turned and smiled at the Princess
‘Namaarie (Farewell) Princess, I’ll see you later’
‘Namaarie (Farewell) Legolas.

The Adult Years

‘My lady, he’s here’
Princess Ilya looked out of her window and smiled at the sight she saw. The young lady ran down the stairs and out into the courtyard. Just as she did when she was a child, and threw herself into the elf’s arms.
‘It’s good to see you, Milady’ Legolas told her. He looked at her, she was different than how he remembered her, more beautiful. Legolas’ heart had been stolen. He felt himself falling, deeply in love with the 17 year old maiden
‘It’s good to see you too’ she replied
‘My how you’ve grown’
‘Indeed and yet you have not’
Legolas smiled.
‘Comll mll me everything that’s been happening in Rivendell’ he told her
‘Later. This year you’re going to teach me how to fight’
‘Oh no Milady, I don’t think you’re father would like that’
‘You were not so thrown when a child wrestled you in the mud, Prince Legolas’
‘Well…’
‘You think I shall beat you at your own game’
‘Now, now Princess’
‘Come on Legolas, teach me’
‘Oh all right, let’s go into the forest, where we shan’t be seen, therefore I shan’t get in trouble’
Legolas and the Princess walked into the forest.
Princess Ilya was a quick learner; within an hour her sword fighting skills were quite good, as Legolas put it.
‘Move your feet’ he told her
The swords clashed against one another and locked, as were the elves eyes. Suddenly Legolas snapped the sword from her hand and it fell to the floor.
‘That was not fair’ Ilya protested
‘I told you, never take your eye off of your opponent or his blade’
‘I didn’t’
‘Yes you did’
‘Oh no I didn’t’
‘Oh yes you did’
Enough was enough; before either knew it Legolas pulled Princess Ilya close to him and began kissing her. Both lost themselves in the moment. Princess Ilya had loved Legolas for a very long time, since she was a child, but until now she had never felt this much passion and lust, infact she didn’t even know what she was feeling.
Legolas broke their kiss
‘Amin hiraetha (I’m sorry)’ he said
‘Don’t be’ she replied raising his chin so his eyes met hers. Hypnotized by them he surrendered to her
‘Amin mella lle (I love you), Ilya’
‘I love you too, Prince Legolas’ she said ‘don’t be troubled by it, I have loved for a for a long time’
Legolas held her close, this was the beginning of something big, he knew it, he felt it.

The Year Of FellFellowship

This year was different; this year when Legolas rode into the courtyard he was not alone. Ilya was unaware that he was coming. She spied him out of her window, once again running down the stairs to meet him.
‘What are you doing here’ the now 30 year old elf asked
‘I’ve been summoned by your father, to a secret council’
‘I should have known, we’ve four halflings and Gandalf the Grey staying with us.’
Legolas began to walk away
‘Legolas, do you know why they’re here’
Legolas stayed quiet
‘I asked my sister Arwen and my father, they would not tell me. Legolas if you know something, tell me please, I am not a child anymore’
‘I swear Ilya, I know no more than you, and when I do, I shall tell you.’
Legolas kissed her and then walked off. Ilya knew that everyone was hiding something from her.
Ilya walked to the pillars of the courtyard; there she spied Merry and Pippin
‘You shouldn’t spy’ she told them
‘Well in that case what are you doin’ ‘ere’ Merry asked
Ilya smiled and listened, the whole story about the ring, she smiled when Legolas stood up to Boromir, her fearless Prince Legolas, she loved him dearly.
‘And you have my bow’
Those words spun round in Ilya’s head, her heart sank. Legolas was going to go into the fire’s of Mordor, and he might never return.
Later she sat in her temple, on her knees quietly praying for him. She felt she was not alone. She looked up and there he was standing tall, beautiful as ever. He took her hands and pulled her to her feet, neither saying a word.
‘What are you doing’ he asked
‘Praying for your protection’
She turned away from him
‘I had to do it Ilya, please try and understand’
Ilya turned back to him and smiled
‘I would go with you if you asked me to, for in my heart I want to be close to you, but I know that in your heart you do not wish me to go into the fire’s of Mount Doom’
‘You are right about that, but your wrong when you say that my heart desires you not to come with me’ he paused for a minute ‘My heart desires to never leave your side’
Once again he pulled her close, his heart skipped a beat every time he had to let go of her and this time he really didn’t want to let go.Ilya reached into her pocket and pulled out a small silver container. Then without Legolas noticing, Ilya reached over his shoulder and drew out a sharp blade from its sheath. She dragged it across her right palm. Blood oozed from the angry wound into the container.
‘What are you doing’ Legolas asked alarmed.
‘Shh’ she said putting her fingers to his lips then putting the lid back on the container and handing it to him.
‘My gift to you’ she told him ‘Now you can take a part of me with you on your journey.’
Legolas took her hand and raised it to his mouth. There he licked away the blood and the pain, taking her into him.
Legolas then took the blade from her hand and dragged it across his own palm. Aware of his reason Ilya took his hand to her mouth and did the same
‘And a part of me shall stay with you’ Legolas told her ‘I must go now’
‘Namaarie (Farewell) Legolas. Only the Gods know when we shall meet again’
‘Namaarie (Farewell) my Princess’
They came together once again and kissed one last time. It lingered on, neither wanted to break it but soon they had to come up for air
‘Don’t look back’ Ilya told him. With that Legolas turned and left.

*****************************************

A few months later, Ilya’s love had only grown stronger. Day and night she pinned for Legolas, she missed him. Every night her dreams were plagued with him.
Eventually word was sent that Sauruman was attacking Rohan and the elves were to leave Rivendell. After Lord Elrond convinced Arwen to go with them he came to convince Ilya.
‘Times are perilous my daughter’ he told her ‘Arwen has since given up hope of seeing the return of Aragorn’.
‘Arwen's love is perilous father, mine is not’ she paused ‘If Legolas survives, he shall return’.
‘Even so, you are to go with Arwen and the others’
‘No father, I will go to Lorien, I wish to speak with my Lady Galadriel’
‘I cannot allow that Ilya, the road to Lorien is far too dangerous’
‘Legolas faces danger every minute of the day, it is not as if I am not going to Rohan Father, I go to Lorien. You can’t stop me father.’
‘I know, but can I not convince you’
‘No’
‘Then all I can say is, safe journey my daughter’.
*********************************************

Upon arriving in Lorien Ilya learned that a vast army of Elves lead by Haldir was traveling to Helm’s Deep, refuge of Rohan's people.
‘My Lady I am going with them’ she told Galadriel
‘I know my child’
‘You’re not going to try and stop me’ she asked in surprise
‘Your heart is strong, as is his, you shall restore his faith, for as long as you believe in him, he believes he can conquer anything, as you believe he can’
‘Namaarie (Farewell) my Lady Galadriel’
‘Namaarie (Farewell) Princess Ilya of Rivendell’

At the Fortress of Helm’s deep, after Aragorn and Legolas had greeted the elves, Legolas walked through the fortress preparing for battle. Then suddenly a weird feeling came over him, like he’d been swept by the wind. He turned to find Princess Ilya in his arms. After minutes of kissing Legolas insisted
‘You shouldn’t be here’
‘Legolas you’re in great danger’ she warned him ‘If you are to die today then I shall die with you’
‘No Ilya, you must go’
‘Nothing you say is going to make me change my mind’ she paused for a long time, looking into his eyes, trying to make him understand
‘If you die, what am I to live for. I’m staying and we will fight side by side’
‘You don’t know how’
‘Oh no, what was that you taught me a few years ago’
‘That was nothing, you’ll not last against an army of Uruk-hai’
‘We have time yet, teach me more, Great Archer of Mirkwood’
‘You’re not going to go are you’ Legolas joked
‘Not till death Legolas’
‘So be it’
Legolas took her inside.
The battle raged on all night, when all seemed lost Aragorn convinced King Theodon to ride out against the Uruk-hai. Ilya insisted on going with them, Legolas feared for her safety more than his own, but he could do nothing to stop her. As they charged Gandalf the White came with thousands of back up from Rohan. The battle for Helm’s deep was won.
