"Please, Celeborn," Thranduil pleaded, holding the small bundle to his friend. "Please, you must do this."
"What is wrong with Glorfindel? Surely-"
"You know none of the Imladris Elves know of this. What am I to tell Glorfindel?"
Celeborn sighed and accepted the little bundle. "Very well. I will raise him as if my own. But by what name do I call him?"
Thranduil smiled, "Legolas."
The Lord of the Golden Wood looked down at the sleeping child in his arms, noting the tuft of golden hair already apparent. It would not be overly difficult to pass the little Greenleaf off as a Lothlorien Elfling. "You do realize that Glorfl wil will be furious that you've managed to keep this from him."
Thranduil sighed, "I know. But I will tell him...When I find the correct words that will not alarm him."
"Ah, yes. And we both know how long it takes for you to conjure up enough tact to write a letter. I assume that it is safe to say that Legolas will be staying in Lorien for quite some time then."
Thranduil glared at Celeborn, "Thank you, cousin. Your support overwhelms me."
Celeborn smiled and looked down at the little child. Legolas blinked as he woke and gurgled when he saw Celeborn, immediately grabbing a tiny fistful of the Lord's hair. Thranduil smiled and leaned over to place a gentle kiss on his child's brow.
"I will try to visit Lorien, but he cannot know..."
Celeborn nodded and craddled Legolas in the crook of one arm, placing his free hand on Thranduil's shoulder. "You will not be cut off from your son. I promise you that. He will grow in a loving family."
Thranduil smiled sadly, "Thank you."
*************
Thtranduil stood at a window in Imladris, looking south and wondering how his little Greenleaf was. It was not long before he felt Glorfindel's arms circle his waist and a soft kiss placed on his neck.
"What troubles you, love?"
Thranduil smiled, "Nothing."
It had been three years since most of the Mirkwood Elves hadt tht the Sea-calling. With so few left on the shores of Middle-Earth, Elrond had gladly opened his home to those that wished to stay. Thranduil stayed with Glorfindel, ceremoniously bonding. There had been a large celebration when the news of a new child in Galadriel and Celeborn's care. All had assumed it was through the adoption of a poor child whose parents had been killed, and Thranduil was grateful for the collective acceptance.
Glorfindel placed another kiss on the once-King's cheek, "Join me for lunch? Or are your thoughts too pressing?"
Thranduil turned in his lover's arms and kissed Glorfindel. "My thoughts, much like yours do, almost constantly, may wait."

Hm, I may or may not continue this. I'm not entirely satisfied with this plot. Let me know.
