Chapter 1: TA130
It was a moonless night when Celebrian, Lady of Imladris, sent a servant to fetch her husband. She had not felt well so she had gone to bed early. Elrond opted to engage his chief advisor and long time friend in a game of chess. The lady had laughed and said the she would wait up for him as the game should not take too long. Elrond merely raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. She giggled and kissed him good night. Erestor watched them with a sort of melancholy happiness. He had long since given up hope of finding his soul mate, but that did not mean he begrudged his friends their love.
Now, not more than an hour later, pain shot through Celebrian’s abdomen. Her boys were coming! Staggering to the door, she cried out for anyone and a servant came quickly. “Fetch Elrond, saes!” She gasped at the pain. “Tell him it is…ohh…time!” she ground out.
The servant fled into the darkness, heading to Erestor’s study. He burst through the door, panting his Mistress’ name. Elrond shot up immediately, overturning the chessboard. He waited for no message, but ran through the last homely house to his private chamber. Erestor quickly instructed the servant as to what was needed in their lord’s chambers. As he moved with determined strides after Elrond, Erestor stopped a second servant and bid the elleth to fetch a healer just in case. When he arrived at Elrond’s chambers, he entered the sitting room, put on a pot of water for tea and sat in a high back chair, waiting. Some hours after midnight, the advisor heard the blessed sound of first one, then another, infant cry. He smiled.
“Erestor, mellon nin, come see,” an exhausted Elrond said from the bedroom door. The raven-haired elf set down his teacup and moved gracefully into the room. Celebrian smiled at him, tears still clinging to her face.
“Are they not perfect?” she asked as he approached.
Erestor looked at the tiny bundles cradled against her. They were indeed perfect. “Aye, my lady; they are.” Eyes as dark as the moonless sky looked up him. Although Erestor knew that the tiny infant could not focus on anything, his heart beat faster as his dark chocolate eyes locked with the little one’s.
Elrond picked up the precious bundle and handed it to a stunned Erestor. “This is Elladan, my first born,” he said proudly.
The babe wiggled moment, freeing a tiny hand. The advisor could not resist. He gave the infant his finger. Elladan looked at him intently before grasping at the offered digit. “What a grip pen dithen [little one]…will you wield a sword or a pen?” He asked the little prince. Bringing the small head to his lip, he kissed it gently. In that moment, Elladan let go of the finger and snagged instead a lock of Erestor’s ebony hair. The councilor found himself trapped. The infant held tight to a strand of ebony hair as Erestor made to hand the child back to the proud father. Tugging his head gently, Erestor found the little hand just would not let go.
Celebrian laughed, her eyes twinkling with some unknown knowledge, at the trapped elf. “It seems my dear friend that you have been caught and my son does not wish to let you go.” Elrond chucked with his wife. Erestor blushed to the tips of his ears. Little did any of them know...
