Ch1
"Argh!"
Ripped from his reverie, Glorfindel jolted upright in his bed, then glared at the open window as the bell rang three more times.
Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he groaned and flung the blanket from the bed.
"Jenda!"
Within seconds, a young dark haired elleth scurried into the room and dropped to her knees next to the bed, her forehead firmly upon the floor.
"My Lord."
Glorfindel arched his brow as he peered over the edge of the mattress, "Must we do this every morning. Jenda? Get up, now."
Jumping to her feet, she kept her eyes down. "How may I serve you this morning, my lord?"
Moving to the edge of the bed, Glorfindel removed his sleep pants and stood up, stretching.
"You may serve me like you have been serving me since the day my Adar gave you to me."
Jenda nodded and then swiftly walked to the wardrobe, "Riding again this morning, my lord?"
Glorfindel yawned as he stretched, nodding his head silently.
Jenda pulled out the appropriate clothes, then stood before her lord and giggled, "Someone is happy to greet the day!"
Blue eyes narrowed slightly "Careful Jenda, draw my attention to it again...and I will make you perform what you were purchased for."
The young elleth cleared her throat and began to assist him in dressing "Ooo...we are in a mood this morning. Did you not sleep well my lord?"
Glorfindel growled as he put his arms through the sleeves of his underlay "I slept fine, tis just that cursed bell. Every four months they ring that large bell instead of..." Glorfindel sighed and shook his head "The bell they ring daily does not disturb my reverie, but that bell could raise the slain."
Jenda slowly reached forward and began to lace his leggings, then cupped her hand over his bulge, hoping to calm him "Tis just the bell that announces the availability of new Pets my lord. Do not let it ruin your day."
Glorfindel slowly looked down at her hand "I thought I told you not to draw my attention to it...do not start something you have no time to finish Jenda."
The young elleth winked as she hopped backward, spun, then headed for the door "Oh! I do have laundry to finish, I will meet you downstairs my lord!"
Glorfindel crossed his arms over his chest "I thought my Adar bought me such a nice little Pet. When did you become so cheeky?"
"Oh hush now my lord, you love me this way!"
As she disappeared down the hall, Glorfindel grabbed his satchel, then whispered "Aye...that I do". He then took a deep breath, and entered the corridor. On his way downstairs, he paused at his fathers door, then rolled his eyes when he heard the unmistakable sound of early morning passion 'Well at least he will be in a good mood today' he thought wryly.
After he made his way around the house, supervising the comings and goings of the servants, he headed to the stables.
Approaching said stables, Glorfindel inwardly groaned when he noticed one of his peers, then raised his hand in greeting "Fair morning Duilin, what brings you."
The young lord of the House of the Swallow smirked "I was going to head down to the market and test out a Pet or two. I heard the new arrivals have been well trained and are very obedient. Come with me, I am meeting Ecthelion and Egalmoth there...awww tul now Glorfindel, be with us today. You are always off by yourself."
"I was going to go for a ride."
Duilin arched his brow as he grabbed Glorfindel's sleeve and pulled him over to his horse "So ride to the market."
Glorfindel blinked, then silently groaned. He knew he was not going to be able to get out of this, Duilin was relentless...which was more then likely why he was sent to get him...
"Very well Duilin."
The young lord smiled as he roughly smacked Glorfindel on the back "Splendid! Tul then!"
As Duilin moved to the other side of his horse, Jenda came running out of the house "My lord!" she said, lightly grabbing his hip "My lord, your Adar requested pheasant for evening meal and one of the huan got into the kitchen and ran off with the bird!"
Glorfindel gently removed her hand from his hip "Breathe, Jenda. What is it you want."
"May I go to the market? We need a new bird."
Before Glorfindel could answer, Duilin came back around his horse "And who is this?"
Jenda stilled, her eyes widening, then lowering as she moved to half hide behind Glorfindel...for she knew all to well that Glorfindel was the youngest of his peers, and therefore, his ownership of her could be challenged.
"I...I am Jenda my lord. Forgive me, I did not know that you were here."
Duilin smiled as he reached forward to touch her cheek "My but you are a fair little Pet" then frowned when Glorfindel grabbed her, pulling her close "Aye, she is fair...and mine" Glorfindel said possessively.
Duilin smiled dismissively as he took a step forward, then stilled, his eyes widening "Glorfindel, you would growl at me? Over a Pet?"
Glorfindel knew the risk he took "She is mine Duilin, and I do not care for others touching her."
"Master..."
"Quiet Jenda. Duilin, can you respect my decision."
The young lord nodded "I to have had pets I did not wish to share. Tis alright my friend, and I will back your decision when we meet up with the others. You are bringing her, are you not?"
Glorfindel quickly grabbed her and hoisted her onto his horse "I will drop you at the entrance to the food market Jenda. Do you have your bracelet."
Jenda nodded as she pulled her sleeve up to show the cuff with the emblem of her owner's house. Leaping up behind her, he pulled her flush against him "Good."
Duilin blinked "You're...you're letting your pet ride your horse?"
"Are we going or not Duilin."
The young lord shook his head and leaped onto his horse "Aye, let us go then."
As they made there way, Jenda slowly turned her head back, then looked up and whispered "Hannon le Master."
Glorfindel did not even look down "Do not call me that Jenda, you know better. I care not whom we are around."
Jenda nodded "Hannon le my lord."
"For what."
"For taking me with you to the market."
"You are welcome."
