Erestor stood like an impatient child waiting for some long-promised treat. The nervous energy poured off him in waves. He was nearly vibrating as he stood near the main entrance to the Last Homely House. Elrond glared at his chief advisor, "Erestor, please, one more sigh and I shall banish you to your rooms."
"Sorry," muttered Erestor as he started almost bouncing in place. "It's just, I am a tad excited to see him." Erestor giggled. Elrond's eyes widened at the sound. Erestor blushed to the very tips of his ears. Erestor, did not giggle, ever. Elrond grinned and patted Erestor on the arm.
For near six months now, Glorfindel had been courting Erestor. Each had a few failed relationships in their past, and each had been shocked to find that they had developed feelings above friendship for the other; so with much trepidation and after much deliberation, they decided to give it a try. They have been inseparable since. Except for patrols, that is. This was the first time since they began courting, that they had been separated; and so Erestor was beyond anxious to see his beloved once more.
The horn sounded and Erestor took in a breath. Riding in front, gold hair fanning behind him, Glorfindel was the first to arrive through the archway. He was just as excited to see Erestor once more.
He had thought long and hard while away and decided he had a very important question to discuss with the Elf that had ensnared his heart; his best friend. And all along right under his nose!
Asfaloth snorted and shook his head as they came to a stop in front of the small entourage waiting to greet the returning Elves. Glorfindel could no longer hold back his smile. Nodding his head to Elrond, with his hand over his heart, he greeted his lord in body, but his eyes were Erestor's alone.
Smiling shyly, Erestor demurely looked at his heart's desire through fluttered eyelashes. Elrond shook his head and smiled. "Go to him," he commanded.
"Aye, my lord," Glorfindel always followed orders.
As if in slow motion, Glorfindel sauntered over to Erestor. He placed his forehead on Erestor's and breathed in his love's scent. "Counselor," he growled, low.
"Captain," came the whispered reply as their lips met in a slow, sensual and very intimate kiss. Hands tangled in hair, moans were heard along with a little mew.
Pulling away slightly, Erestor cocked his head to the side quizzically. Glorfindel smiled and reached under his cloak into a hidden pocket. He pulled out the tiniest of creatures: a soft, fuzzy, black kitten who immediately mewed as it was handed to Erestor.
Erestor smiled and nuzzled the little life to his face. "Oh, Glorfindel, he is beautiful."
"I found him in the woods, near an old human shack. No one seemed to claim him, so I dare not leave him to the elements... he reminded me of you." Glorfindel winked.
Erestor giggled once more. All looked at him strangely except for Glorfindel. He was used to the unusual sound from the counselor. Biting his lips nervously, Glorfindel looked deeply into chocolate eyes, "I thought we could raise him ....together?"
Erestor 's bottom lip quivered, "are you asking me what I think you are?"
"Yes, would you do me the honor of binding to me?" Glorfindel asked as he went on one knee.
"Get up, you silly Elf, of course I will!" Erestor giggled once more and all cheered around them.
"Mew," came the muffled reply.
"I think Tinnu agrees," smiled Erestor.
"Tinnu? I like the name," Glorfindel replied as they kissed and lived happily ever after.
The End.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGLARIEN!
