Caught you in the act - can't put up with that
Messing where you shouldn't be
I wanna hear you say you're sorry
Cause nobody takes advantage of me
You're missing the mark - shooting in the dark
I'm pulling the wool from my eyes
Baby don't you push me further
It's gonna hurt you if it happens twice
Erestor glared at anyone who had the misfortune of crossing his path. Doors slammed, books were thrown, and vase made a spectacular shattering against a wall.
Elrond had had enough.
“Erestor, open the be-dammed door!! What the hell is wrong with you?”
The door flung open. Erestor glared. Elrond ran.
If looks could kill
You'd be lying on the floor
You'd be begging me please please baby don't hurt me no more
If looks could kill
You'd be reeling from the pain and you'd never lie again
If looks could kill
Dinner was not much better. Chairs were upturned, food was thrown, as well as very expensive china.
“Dammit Erestor!! What the fuck is wrong?” Elrond bellowed at his Councilor. The Lord caught silvery tear tracks tracing down Erestor’s cheeks as the dark haired elf fled the room.
The Lord searched for the one person that could possibly know what was wrong with Erestor, and the one person who could possibly calm him down.
“Glorfindel!” called Elrond as he saw a flash of blond hair on the other side of the barracks. The blond blur stilled for a moment, and then made its was toward Elrond.
“Can I help you, my Lord?”
“I certainly hope so. Erestor has been…well…for the lack of a better word *violent* this day. I have never seen so many pieces of broken glass since Celebrian gave birth to the twins. Do you have *any* idea how this happened and what we can do to fix it?”
Glorfindel flushed red and cleared his throat. He looked at the floor and dug his toe into the floor boards as his hands clasped behind his back. “Well, you see…”
You're living on the edge
Hanging by a thread
I'm watching every move you make
You don't want to see my anger
So don't you make another mistake
Love is on the line
I ain't about to be kind
That's both a promise and a threat
If I was you I'd really cool it or risk a night you'll never forget
“You’re *shitting* me.” Elrond was in a daze. “You did WHAT?”
“I had an affair with Gildor.”
“You had an affair with Gildor.”
“And Erestor caught me.”
“And Erestor caught you.”
“There is an echo in here.”
“There is an echo in here.”
Elrond realized what he had just said and blushed at his own dumb-struck attitude. “Why would you do such a thing? Erestor LOVES you. You are everything to him! How could you?”
The blond head bowed lower if possible. “I thought it would be fun at the time.”
“You are MARRIED.”
“I am well aware of that fact.”
“THEN WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?!?”
Glorfindel dropped onto bench propped up against the wall. “I wasn’t thinking alright? I was stupid. Stupid and self-centered. And my husband caught me. I thought the look he gave me…Valar… But that was all he did. He gave me the look and left. That was it.”
“You’re lucky. If looks could kill…”
“I’d be a dead elf.”
If looks could kill
You'd be lying on the floor
You'd be begging me please please darlin don't hurt me no more
If looks could kill
You'd be reeling from the pain
And you'd never lie again
If looks could kill
I was a fool to believe in you
A sucker for every line
I'm a little less blind than I was before
I can see right through your design
“You SWORE to me! You SWORE that you would be faithful to me! And now I find out that you have been betraying me since the beginning! I was a fool! I BELIEVED you, you bastard! How could you?”
“I DON’T KNOW, Erestor!! I did it, and the way you’re acting right now I don’t feel inclined to be very sorry about it…”
Erestor stood disbelievingly, staring at his husband.
Glorfindel’s eyes widened. “Oh, shit. What did I just say…Oh…Valar…I didn’t mean it Erestor! I’m sorry…shit….Erestor wait!”
Erestor turned around sharply, nearly making Glorfindel topple over. Tears made their way unheeded down Erestor’s face. The look on his face nearly did make Glorfindel die on the spot. His face spoke of heartbreak, loss, sorrow, and pain beyond imagining…and Glorfindel had been the one to put it there. Erestor scrabbled with his hands a moment, and then a small piece of metal was flung at Glorfindel. It clattered to the floor, and the warrior saw the unmistakable form of Erestor’s bonding ring.
“I will NEVER be betrayed like this again. I don’t need you!”
The look of hate literally brought Glorfindel to his knees.
The councilor spun on his heel, and fled from the room.
