Chapter 1
“No!” Erestor stood as he vehemently spoke out in protest.
“Erestor, please calm yourself,” said a startled Elrond to his counselor’s display.
Glorfindel looked to his lord and then to his husband. His heart was breaking at Erestor’s sudden outburst and lack of decorum. He knew Erestor was hurting but he also knew that he, Glorfindel, had to be the one to do this, it was part of his destiny.
Erestor reluctantly sat back in his council chair. The other lesser advisors were afraid to speak their minds now. “I do not understand why Glorfindel has to go and why we have to send Imladrin elves to fight at Fornost. What have men done for us?”
“Now, Erestor, you of all here, know that what you are saying is unreasonable. If the Witch King is left undefeated then he will surely reach for the Elven realms as well.” Explained a frustrated Elrond to his Chief Counselor who was usually the voice of reason. Nonetheless, Elrond knew it was hard to separate the heart from reason at times like these.
“What of Imladris’ defenses?” argued Erestor. “Are we to leave ourselves defenseless, open to any who wouldst happen by?
“Of course not, we will not send all our warriors Erestor, you know this well,” said a flustered Elrond.
Erestor sighed heavily through his nose and looked between Elrond and his husband. Settling his eyes upon Glorfindel, he spoke softly into those blue eyes he adored, “Why you Glorfindel?”
Returning his husband’s gaze he looked back into those dark eyes so full of pain, ”It is my duty as Chief of Imladris’ defenses to keep her safe, and sometimes this means going out of her borders to do so.”
“Why not Lagion?” offered Erestor to all at the council table-looking each in the eye, “He is most capable.”
Melpomean stood and spoke, he was fond of both Erestor and Glorfindel, and nevertheless, he had to speak his mind. “Master Erestor, though Lagion is quite a capable captain, he does not have the experiences of warring that our Lord Glorfindel, or even you have.”
Erestor sighed and clenched his jaw in anger but did not interrupt his colleague.
“Master Erestor, with all due respect, Captain Lagion is worth much to his wife and children as well.” Offered Melpomean.
Elrond leaned forward and looked deeply into Erestor’s eyes as he spoke. “Erestor, you have been my Chief Advisor since the Last Alliance and my friend for longer; you know these decisions are hard for us and are never taken lightly.” Here Elrond sighed and ran a hand across his face. “Glorfindel will go to Fornost along with five hundred of our warriors. They will leave by week’s end and I will have you by my side.” Elrond commanded in a calm manner, though the gravity was unmistakable in its tone.
Erestor tried his best to keep his composure; the air in the room was ripe with tension. “I will always stand by your side my lord, but I do not agree to this,” he hissed as he stood, leaving without being asked for dismissal from the council room.
Glorfindel looked at Erestor's retreating back, and as the door shut behind him,
the captain turned to Elrond and just looked at him in question.
"Go to him." Elrond sighed heavily. His heart was weary for his friends' pain.
Glorfindel gave a nod as he left to follow Erestor to their rooms, hoping he had gone there first.
After leaving the council room, Erestor walked briskly with tears in his eyes to their shared rooms. He went straight into the bedroom and began pacing the floor. He was furious! He wanted Glorfindel kept out of danger. His head was reeling from all that was said as memories of their life together flashed through his mind. Their first awkward kiss, their first time making love, their admission of love, their wedding, their many years of happiness. They were exceedingly well suited to each other, of one mind. So lost in thought was he that he did not hear their door open or register the fact that he was no longer alone.
Glorfindel found Erestor pacing their bedroom floor and cleared his throat. Erestor immediately spun around, his long hair flying behind him when he sensed his presence. In two strides he was at his husband's side and scowled at him. "DO NOT GO!" He commanded knowing it was useless to do so.
Glorfindel's heart was breaking. He touched the tear stained cheek, smoothing it tenderly. "Ress, you know I have to do this." He said with pleading eyes.
"Damn you Glorfindel!" Erestor hissed and hit his husband's chest with both his fists, to which Glorfindel grabbed them into his own. "Why must you always be the hero? What if I lose.......you...?" Here his voice faltered and he began to tremble as his knees gave out.
Glorfindel caught him before he landed on the floor. Together, they both slid to their knees as Glorfindel cradled his love against his chest. "Shhh," he kissed Erestor's raven tresses. "I will be back, you will not lose me."
"Really!" Erestor looked up into his mate's face. "You have the gift of foresight now?" He spat venomously. "If I lose you, if you die, I will die." He swore as if an oath.
"No, no, do not say such!" Glorfindel said uneasily, trying to bring his lover close to his chest once more. Erestor would not let him.
Erestor's eyes gleamed with a newfound light, Glorfindel knew that look, a plan was formulating in his husband's eyes. "I will go with you then." Erestor said calmly as if this matter was now final.
"No." Came the simple reply from the golden-haired captain.
"Oh yes, I most certainly will, I am a warrior, I still spar with Elrond. Yes, that is it, I will go tell Elrond now." Erestor smiled, proud of his quick mind and tried to stand. Glorfindel was not having any of it. Grabbing Erestor's arm hard, he would not let him go.
"NO!" Glorfindel growled.
"You.... you…growled at me?" Sneered Erestor seeing red. He tried to hit Glorfindel square in the chin. Glorfindel easily blocked it. Erestor saw the determination in his husband's eyes and finally broke down. Sinking into Glorfindel's embrace, he sobbed a heavy cry from deep within his core. Glorfindel just held him and rocked him back and forth as one does for a frightened elfling.
"Shhh, it will all be well, you'll see, I will come back to you. This has to be done. Elrond and Imladris need you here by their side. It is not your place to go this time." Glorfindel kissed that glorious mane of hair and drew in its bouquet.
Deep within him, Erestor knew Glorfindel was right, that it was not his fate to go. But where Glorfindel saw his return. Erestor could not be so certain.
"Besides," teased Glorfindel, "I came back once, I could do it again."
Erestor stopped mid sniffle and looked up, "You think that is amusing? How can you even jest such a thing!" He was infuriated once more.
"Come, let us bathe, you look like a snotted mess." Glorfindel teased.
This time Erestor let himself be led by his lover, his friend, and his confidant.
They sat in the bath for hours, Erestor sitting between Glorfindel's legs which were bent at the knee as if a chair for Erestor to snuggle into. Glorfindel held his strong arms around Erestor's shoulders, soothing him, massaging away the tension. Erestor let his hands travel over defined calves, stroking the soft skin there, over slender ankles and agile feet. They were quiet for quite sometime, just enjoying the feel of the other and the oneness through their bond.
"Everyone thinks I am strong, but it is you who makes me so." whispered Erestor finally.
His head was kissed, "No, you were strong before we even met, always a fire in your eyes, a fire I was drawn to." Answered Glorfindel in kind.
"I was afraid of my feelings for you Fin, I thought they were wrong, I was such a fool. I wasted so much of our time." He snuggled back into that strong embrace and sighed.
"Nay, no time was lost, it was just being learned tis all." Glorfindel said as his hands traveled down the front of his husband's body, over a long neck, a firm chest, a firm yet smooth belly and back up to twirl around perking nipples.
Erestor moaned as he leaned into the tender touch. He took one of Glorfindel's large hands and guided it down to his awakened elfhood. Hearing a moan at the touch, the warrior smiled and began to slowly fondle the pulsing hardness. A hardness that was covered in the softest velvet, teasing it with his skilled hand; he imagined it was himself he had in hand and was pleasuring to his mate's visage. He sent this image into Erestor's mind and was rewarded with an intake of breath accompanied by loud moaning as the counselor's hips rotated slowly against those nimble fingers.
Glorfindel continued to stroke his love, occasionally dipping a fingertip into the slit earning a gasp as he set about to sucking on that long slender neck, those perfectly formed ear tips, even as Erestor whimpered loudly.
Erestor smiled feeling that familiar hardness pressing against the small of his back, and he lifted himself up so that Fin's elfhood could rub continually in the cleft of his ass as he thrust himself up into that magnificent hand.
Glorfindel growled into Erestor's neck as he felt his throbbing hardness being placed between that pert ass he so adored and so loved to lick and bite. Glorfindel licked down Erestor’s neck with the flat of his tongue, causing spittle to trickle down over those smooth shoulders.
Throwing his head back Erestor thrust faster into Fin's hand as he ground back against his husband's superb cock. He offered his mouth to the warrior who obliged by giving him open-mouthed licks to his husband's questing tongue. Wrapping his tongue around its prize, Erestor sucked it into his mouth and groaned, blowing puffs of air into his mate's mouth. With his free hand Glorfindel grabbed a fist full of Erestor's hair and pulled his head back so that he could watch his love take himself within his hand. "Mnnn, that's it...Ress, take yourself in my hand.... yes...let me watch you come...."
Erestor was writhing hard as he started to shudder--"By Eru, Fin…. ungh....yes....I ...I'm…coming...." he yelled out as his body stiffened with its impending release. He came hard and long and since Glorfindel had hold of his elfhood, the warrior angled it so that his husband's delicious cream hit him on his mouth and cheek and chin. Glorfindel laved at it with his tongue, some dripping steadily down his chin.
Grabbing Erestor’s hips tightly he continued to rub himself between those luscious cheeks until he started to breath heavily as his body succumbed to the deep pleasure within him and he let go a growl as his head came forward to bite down on Erestor’s shoulder.
Erestor reached back and smoothed his husband’s hair suddenly turning in his arms to sit across his lap. Their lips met in a long-suffering embrace. Neither said a word, just feeling their love, each imbedding this moment forever in memory.
