It Is Done
Disclaimer: Not mine. Never will be, unless a miracle mind-control drug falls into my lap. Not likely, eh?

It is done. What should be the happiest moment of either of our lives has passed. Boromir has gone to our chamber, awaiting my return there, though he is not likely to receive it. I…I do not know what to do now. The world has upended itself, turning everything around.
I have been asked to wed, to bond with my own brother. It is unspeakable to do so, even to think of such a thing. But nonetheless, I have been asked to see this through. It was a simple enough affair, the proposition, though wrought with tension it was. Just the two of us, Boromir and I, alone in our chamber.
"Faramir, I have something for you. Come see it. "
"Oh, please, brother, not that old one again. I shan't blow anything, before you ask." I was acting such a fool! How did I manage to be so harsh, so--so much like Father? I hadn't meant to sound like that. But as I said, it is done. There is no use in second-guessing.
"That isn't what…that isn’t what I meant..."
I had chuckled then, thinking that he meant to take me by surprise. "Brom, that's what you always mean when you start like that! If you want me, simply ask and do not use those flimsy lines you get from the soldiers. They will never work on the women, you know that." He blushed at my words, and turned away from where I lay on my bed with a book. I know I had left my book and bed, and gone to him where he sat, wondering how a lighthearted rebuff like that could have him acting so odd. .
"Faramir, I have been asked to wed more women--girls--than I want to recall. But only one has touched my heart so, there is only one that I think I cannot do without..."
"Then ask her to marry!" I'd interjected. I hadn't heard him stop, but I thought I knew where this was going.
"Let me finish, Faramir. This is no woman of whom I speak. It is... it is you."
I left. I ran down the corridors until I fancied I could not hear Boromir crying out for me to wait. And then I slowed down. This is not happening… Father would kill us, what has he asked? Does he know my answer? Boromir asked me to...
My mind raced in ten thousand directions, not one of them leading back to my brother, sitting in our chamber. Go back. Tell him yes. You know you want this as much as he. Where had that come from? Nothing in my mind said something as absurd as that. Go back, Faramir, tell him you love him. Tell him yes.
"Faramir? Little brother…" It was Boromir!
"Yes?" I turned and saw him standing at the end of the terrace. Tell him yes, Faramir, do it now. Tell him!
"Faramir, I want to ask you--"
"Yes."
"Yes what?"
"My answer. Yes."
"Little lover, you have no idea how long I have waited to hear you say that."
So now it is done. The happiest moment of either of our lives has passed.
I am wed now.
