i. Hey Dad.
“Hey Dad! I know I’m late. Sorry ‘bout that. Not very nice weather we got, huh? Kinda cloudy. Yeah, you’re right, I’m not being honest with you. Sorry, but things at home…Dad, it’s not good. Mum’s getting more and more depressed, I sometimes don’t know what to do. I see her crying and I can’t do anything about it. She doesn’t know that I am watching her. She thinks I’m asleep, lying upstairs in my bed and dreaming of flowers and suns with smiling faces, happy people dancing in an abstract village with red roofs and all. At night she thinks she’s alone. But I am not asleep. I am quite awake and from time to time I can hear her. She calls Nana or plays long forgotten songs. At day she’s playing the strong mother. But she’s not. She’s getting weaker every day, Dad. I could really use a little help. Time. Maybe. Maybe you’re right as always, Dad. Well, it’s been more than 10 months since you… went away. – Damn it, I’ll come too late for dinner. I promised to be punctual this time. Not very clever of me, huh? With me getting detention nearly every day? Well, bye Dad! See ya tomorrow!”
