That Kind of Love
~ Who would sell their soul for love? ~
Erestor sat dimly behind his desk, quill in hand as he signed yet another form.
~ Or waste one tear on compromise ~
Surely all these did not need his signature he dismally thought, looking at the high piles of
parchment that lay before him. Laying the quill down, he sighed, hanging his head in his hands,
before running his fingers though his hair in frustration with slight tears glistening in his eyes.
~ Should be easy enough ~
Concentration, he found, was not easy when his mind kept straying to a certain blond and his heart was yearning for the one he loved.
~ To know a heartache in disguise ~
He cried softly to himself, wishing the pain away - wishing his heart would just stop hurting.
~ But the heart rules the mind ~
No matter how he tried to control himself, he could not override the grip his heart had on his mind.
He could never stop loving him, and never wished to. He only wished that he could hold him close.
~ And the going gets rough ~
Why did this have to be so hard? Why could he feel the distance between them so vividly?
His shoulders shook slowly, his hand clutching at his chest, feeling the beat of his heart and the matching beat of another’s.
~ Pride takes the fall ~
Suddenly a great clatter in the courtyard arose, and Erestor’s head lifted, tears forgotten in his hope.
Rising quickly and scattering parchment everywhere, he stood from behind his desk, dignity forgotten as he left his study quickly, almost flying through the corridors.
~ When you find that kind of love ~
His robes were flying around him loosely, evidence of the slight loss in weight from the lithe body.
Erestor’s footsteps echoed as he ran lightly, his hair flying loose, but he cared not.
~ I can't help feeling like a fool ~
As he came to the front entrance, he pushed the doors with all his might, bursting out from them
at a run. He knew that later he would blush when reminded of it, but it didn’t matter, he was so close.
~ Since I lost that place inside ~
It had been an age since Erestor had seen him, since he had held him close, and he would
not wait any longer. Running across the cobbled stones he saw him, his face broke out in a delighted smile. He shed his outer robe as he ran, leaving him only in leggings and under-tunic.
~ Where my heart knew its way ~
He was close - he could feel him and he could smell his sweet scent.
“Glorfindel!” He cried, watching his love turn around just in time to catch his smaller
body, spinning him around in the air before holding him close.
~ And my soul was ever wise ~
Breathing deeply against his chest, Erestor clung to Glorfindel tightly, as tightly as Glorfindel held him.
“My sweet angel, how I have missed you.” Glorfindel whispered into Erestor’s ear as he stroked his
soft hair, their souls once more close; their hearts beating as one.
“I’ve missed you so much - so much it hurts…” Erestor murmured
“I’m here now, meleth.”
~ Once innocence was lost ~
“I need to feel you close. I need to feel so close, meleth, I need to feel you inside.” Erestor pleaded
softly, his love giving him courage to ask what he would once never have dared.
~ There was not faith enough ~
The faith he had in their love was showing, when once he was so scared that it would break into tiny shards at the lightest wind.
~ Still my heart held on ~
When he had lost Glorfindel at Gondolin, Erestor had wanted no more than to give up, but his heart
could feel Glorfindel still there, knowing that he would - one day - return to him.
~ When it found that kind of love ~
His heart had held on to hope, he had held onto love, and he had held onto Glorfindel.
Now he had returned, and Erestor would never let him go.
~ Though beauty is rare enough ~
Glorfindel tilted Erestor’s head up to look at him, smiling at the beauty of his soft features as
he leaned forward, taking the perfect peachy lips in a passionate kiss, deep and loving.
~ Still we trust ~
A promise etched in stone, bound in love - a promise to always return.
~ Somehow we'll find it there ~
Somehow they had lasted; somehow their love had remained strong, even when they were weak.
~ With no guarantee ~
With no proof they would find each other - no way of knowing how long they would be parted - it had made their separation so much harder.
~ It seems to me ~
It seemed so unfair that they had been separated as they kissed slowly, rediscovering what they once had.
~ At least it should be fair ~
Now they were shown mercy. Now they had found each other once more and together they would be strong
~ But if it's only tears and pain ~
Erestor smiled softly up at Glorfindel as they slowly broke apart, tears glistening in their eyes in joy.
~ Isn't it still worth the cost
Like some sweet saving grace ~
It felt like all the pain had been worth it. All the hurt had been worth it just to be here with each other.
They knew now how much their love was worth. Taking Glorfindel’s hand in his own, Erestor
pulled him from the courtyard, both smiling as he led them to his rooms with all else forgotten.
~ Or a river we must cross ~
They had been tested, and they had succeeded; their love carrying them as though on wings passed all obstacles.
~ If we don't understand ~
“I don’t know why we must suffer for love.” Glorfindel whispered to Erestor.
~ What this life is made of ~
“But I know you are my life, Erestor. I live for you - because of you - and to love you only.”
~ We learn the truth ~
“I died with you on my mind, and I returned to be with you,” he whispered softly, as they came to Erestor’s door.
~ When we find that kind of love ~
Erestor cried as Glorfindel spoke, pulling the warrior close as he opened the door and kissed
him lovingly, their tongues twined in an ancient dance with bodies pressed close.
~ Cause when innocence is lost ~
Pulling at Glorfindel’s clothes, there was no need for words, their touch and actions saying more than words ever could.
~ There is not faith enough ~
Kissing deeply, the need to be touching and close ever present as they tried to undress, still kissing.
~ We learn the truth ~
All the pain was finally over, and they were there together, panting and exposed to each other’s gaze, love and lust as one as they grew more heated.
~ When we find that kind of love ~
Their kisses and heavy breathing soon gave way to less innocent touches and moans of pleasure as they finally found their moment in time once more, moving as one in passion and love.
Their love had lasted through all time, and in finding each other once more, they would grow stronger,
binding together their souls and hearts in the greatest love of all ages.
