*****************
It had been a long day. Haldir was glad to be returning home at last, to the talan he shared with the two dearest to his heart – Orophin and Rúmil. They were not only his brothers, but his lovers too. Rúmil, unfortunately, was away on patrol for another week, but Orophin should be home.
Smiling at this thought, Haldir ascended the tall Mallorn tree in which they lived, looking around for evidence of his youngest brother.
“Orophin?” he called out, setting down his pack and removing his cloak.
“I’m in the bedroom!” Came the cheerful reply.
Haldir hurried into their shared bedroom… and smiled at the sight that met his eyes. Orophin had also just returned from patrol, but had been in long enough to remove his dirty uniform and bathe. Now he sprawled casually on the bed, completely naked and looking very comfortable.
Licking his lips, Haldir ran his eyes hungrily over the well-muscled form of his younger brother. He was so beautiful - he couldn’t resist stepping forward and stealing a tender kiss, while letting his hand roam down the length of the slender body.
Orophin returned the kiss, smiling into it as he felt his brother’s gentle touch, but his nose was wrinkled in something akin to disgust. Laughing, Haldir stepped back.
“Forgive me, I smell like an orc! I will go and bathe and return in a moment.”
“Don’t be long,” Orophin replied; a seductive look in his eyes as he wriggled on the bed a little, his arousal evident.
His actions caused Haldir to moan softly, his blood heating at the not-so-subtle display.
“I will be swift,” he mumbled and rushed off into the bathroom, leaving Orophin waiting on the bed.
He discarded his dirty clothes with all haste, filling the tub from the metal container outside, the sun making the water pleasantly warm.
Stepping in, he wasted no time in scrubbing every inch of his body, ridding himself of the foul smell that came from two weeks of fighting orcs on the border. His body clean, he turned his attention to his hair, rubbing in a good amount of soap before rinsing it off, frowning at the amount of dirt that left him.
Finally though, he was satisfied that all the grim was gone, and stepped out of the tub. He removed the small cork that held the water in, allowing the waste to trickle down the tree to be reabsorbed by the ground below.
Picking up a soft linen towel he dried off before rubbing oil into his skin and hair to make it shine, wanting to impress the brother he had not seen in almost a fortnight. It was funny, he thought, it seemed much longer.
Checking his appearance in the mirror, he nodded in approval. He was broader than either of his younger brothers and slightly shorter, but his features were well defined with high cheekbones, lending him an air of elegance usually associated with nobility.
Turning on his heel, he returned to the bedroom, not seeing the need for clothes.
“I am back,” He said softly, lingering for a moment in the doorway.
Orophin did not respond.
Frowning, Haldir walked a little closer. “Orophin?” He peered down at his brother… and groaned.
“Oh, Orophin!”
Haldir couldn’t believe it. His beautiful, desirable brother whom he had just made a great deal of effort for – was fast asleep. Clearly, lying in bed waiting had just been too much for the exhausted Elf.
He shook Orophin’s shoulder, trying to wake him, but Orophin’s only response was to roll over and curl up a little, mumbling something unintelligible under his breath.
Shaking his head in a combination of mild irritation and amusement, Haldir gave up. Getting into the bed he pulled the covers over them, pressing up against Orophin and kissing the sleeping Elf’s cheek.
“Sleep well, little brother,” he murmured and then smirked. “You’ll need the energy in the morning!”
