Love Bite.
“Are you listening to a word I’ve said? I said follow through!” Glorfindel sighed and turned back to his second in command. “What is wrong with them?”
The elf beside him simply shrugged whilst studiously avoiding his Captains gaze; a mischievous smirk upon his lips that matched those of the other trainees.
“Their heads are in the clouds today, they seemed distracted, this will not do” he spoke to his second, before turning and calling for all elves to cease practice and gather around him. “Alright all of you, lower your swords and gather round for Valar sake…”
His second used all of his will power not to laugh as Glorfindel walked away from him and into the small crowd of soldiers. It was a particularly hot day, so all had removed their tunics and sparred now in leggings only. As soon as Glorfindel had removed his tunic, all had had to conveniently clear their throats or seemed to suffer from sudden coughing fits. None had been able to concentrate or control their sniggers when their Captain obliviously walked around with angry red scratches down his back, which could only of resulted from one of two things. Either Glorfindel had had a disagreement with a warg lately, or had become a little over zealous in the bedroom.
“Now when you parry this manoeuvre I want you to…are you listening?!” he was becoming increasingly agitated at his men’s lack of concentration that morning and was on the verge of loosing his patience.
“Aye cap’ in, there’s no reason to scratch our eyes out” chuckles erupted through the small circle of elves; unable to control their mirth any longer.
Seeing that Glorfindel had officially ran out of humour and tolerance his second stepped in before their Captain could truly loose his temper.
“Glorfindel, a word?” he asked as he placed a hand on the Seneschal’s arm.
Reluctantly, and sparing a disapproving glance to his men Glorfindel followed. The small band of elves watched, as their fellow soldier quietly and discretely explained what it was they all found so amusing. They chuckled hearing the disbelieving ‘what?’ come from their Captain. And laughed aloud as Glorfindel reached for one of the near shields to examine his back in its reflection.
Glorfindel could not of been more embarrassed, there was indeed angry red scratches, that had actually punctured his skin, from Erestor‘s desperate clutches in the heights of their passion. That morning had been a particularly special morn, for today was his and Erestor’s one year anniversary of courting. And that morning, he had with out any previous preamble or planning, asked for Erestor’s hand in marriage.
He knew not where it had come from, but he had woken just as the first rays of dawn were spilling over the peaks of Imladris and into their bedroom. And there had just been something about the way the light had spread warmly over his slumbering lovers skin, something about the way his dark hair had felt as silk as it lay across part of his arm, something about the way Erestor’s warm brown eyes, that made him want to care for him forever, that made him want to simply…weep. That when Erestor stirred, and with a lazy smile wished him a good morning, the first thing out of his mouth had been…
“Marry me?”
Erestor had blinked for a moment before laughing, but as Glorfindel simply stared back at him, hopeful and waiting, the advisor knew that he was deadly serious.
“You are serious” he had whispered.
“Marry me” he simply repeated, not making it a question but a plea.
Erestor had stared up a moment longer, as if trying to read his lover, or gage whether what the warrior spoke was genuine. He stroked back blond strands of hair as a slow and fearful smile spread across his face. He had known then that he was to be married.
They had made love that morn with a passion that had shocked and astounded both of them. Glorfindel had left their quarters after many a lingering kiss and blissful smile, completely unaware of the scratches down his back.
With an embarrassed grin he turned back to his men, who all at once began to applaud and whistle as their Captain blushed.
“You scoundrel!”
“You stallion!”
“Erestor is a lucky elf!”
“You tiger you!”
And so the teasing continued.
Glorfindel accepted the whistles and playful comments with good humour, for even he found this amusing.
“Alright, alright..” he laughed, “you caught me”
“Those scratches look fresh…” began one with a raised brow.
“Someone had a good morn” another chuckled.
“If you must know…aye, I did” he admitted with a smug grin. He had been bursting to tell someone of his good news all morn, he could not help it if his men got it out of him could he?
His second in command raised his brow, “’tis unlike you to divulge details, but please, go on!” he chuckled.
Many of his men had to begin with, envied him for catching Erestor’s eye. But when seeing the two together, there had been no denying the rightness that could be seen in the two opposites. There, was a love that had always meant to be. Though Glorfindel had always been overprotective, unwilling to divulge any personal details about his and Erestor’s relationship. So that warrior was now suddenly willing to do so, needless to say gained him the attention of all present.
“I am..” he began with an almost bashful grin as he kicked the dirt beneath his boot, “…to be married”
There was naught but absolute silence for the next few moments. Glorfindel looked up questionably as no one made a sound. Then all of a sudden, a great cry sounded from the entire group. He was pounced upon and vigorously and roughly hugged from all sides, his hair was playfully ruffled and mused as he laughed at the brutal but friendly treatment. It was all he could do to keep from his men from lifting him up onto their shoulders.
“Thank you, thank you really..” he chuckled and turned to his second in command, “I think I shall perhaps go and find some salve for my back, and perhaps pay my…betrothed, a visit”
His men smiled at the pride that was clear in the words he spoke, all insisted on one last group hug before allowing their leader to leave; and chuckled as the blond loosely pulled his tunic back onto his shoulders.
“Very well Glorfindel, just make sure he wears gloves to cover those claws of his” one teased after him, earning them a glare from their Captain before he retreated back into the house.
Glorfindel took a moment to observe his lover, nay, betrothed, as he went about his office. It was only when he cleared his throat that Erestor glanced up, he laughed adoringly as the advisor bit his lip and absently dropped the scroll he had been reading onto his desk, before advancing towards the blond. When coming to stand before his beloved Erestor pulled the warrior forwards by the nape of his neck into his office, and closed the door behind him.
“I missed you”
“It had been a matter of hours since last we saw each other” he laughed quietly as he brought his arms around his lovers waist.
“Aye, far to long…” he whispered huskily as he reached up for a chaste kiss, “so what has brought you here, should you not be training your men?” he asked as he affectionately twirled a blond braid around his finger as if he owned it…Glorfindel loved it when he did that.
“Ah, thank you for reminding me!” he exclaimed triumphantly, he ignored Erestor’s brief look of confusion and attacked the bare skin above the collar of the advisor’s robe.
“What are you…oh, oh hmm, Glorfindel…Ai that is so nice…” he smiled and stretched his neck to supply more flesh for his lover to feast on.
He gasped however when feeling the warrior’s teeth sink shallowly into his flesh, he shivered as Glorfindel then gently licked the tender and supple skin; pressing soft kisses to the red ring of teeth marks before pulling back to admire his work.
“Perfect” he stated proudly.
Erestor frowned and touched the side of his neck, his eyes widened when realising he had quite a mark there.
“Glorfindel! ‘Tis above the collar line, everyone will see!” he playfully slapped the warrior’s shoulder as he probed the sensitive flesh.
“That was precisely my intention, perhaps now you will suffer some of the humiliation I have had to this morning!”
“What do you mean?”
Glorfindel turned and simply shrugged his tunic from his shoulders, grinning as again he caused Erestor to gasp.
“Did *I* do that?” Erestor chuckled as he gently traced the red lined with the tips of his fingers.
“Indeed my lusty one” Glorfindel replied as he turned back around and pulled Erestor back into his eyes. “I had to suffer the knowing sniggers and looks from my men this morning for a good three hours before someone had the grace to inform me what was so funny” he playfully scowled as Erestor laughed aloud.
“Ai, what can I say, you bring the animal out of me” he whispered sultrily as he let his lips ghost over his lovers.
“I must warn you…” he murmured as he sweetly rubbed his nose against Erestor’s, “…if a very excited group of soldiers try to carry you off on their shoulders, their intentions are nothing but good”
“You told!” Erestor scolded with feigned anger, “I thought we were not telling anyone yet?”
“Forgive me, I could not help it, they dragged it out of me I swear”
“I’m sure they did” Erestor replied sarcastically as he languidly let his lips slide over his lovers, “really, your will power is laughable Glorfindel”
“I know, I know” he chuckled with his head bowed.
“What do you say, that I tell Elrond I have a headache, and you meet me back in our chambers in a few minutes, then I can put that willpower to the test hmm? ” he whispered huskily as he let one hand trail down the bare skin of the warrior’s muscular chest.
“A wonderful idea my lo..” he was interrupted however as the Lord of Imladris entered the advisor’s office abruptly. They had immediately pulled out of their intimate touch, but not away from each other. Though before either of them could speak their Lord had smiled brilliantly and advanced on Glorfindel with arms spread wide.
“Glorfindel! May I be the first to congratulate you my friend!”
Glorfindel immediately shot Erestor, who was biting his lip sheepishly, a knowing smirk.
“What was you saying about will power my love?”
“I only told Elrond” he shrugged guiltily, Glorfindel smiled at his beloved and laughed as he was embraced by their lord.
“Elladan and Elrohir were looking for you Glorfindel, they wished to congratulate you also!”
Glorfindel narrowed his eyes but grinned at his lover.
“And I may of told the twins”
Just then, as luck would have it a certain minstrel popped his head through the office door, “Glorfindel! Allow me to congratulate you on your engagement!”
Again the warrior chuckled and turned back to his lover; who was turning redder by the second.
“And Lindir, but that is all I swear” he bit his lip adorably and chuckled quietly at being caught not once or twice, but three times over.
Lindir, who felt slightly guilty at revealing his knowledge of the engagement when obviously he should of stayed quiet, sought to rectify the situation.
“Oh I will not tell anyone, I only came here to run some ideas by Erestor”
“Ideas?” the warrior asked with a raised brow.
“For the wedding of course, Erestor asked me if I would compose a song just for the two of you for when you dance together as husbands for the first time”
Glorfindel chuckled and turned back to Erestor, who looked ready to sink into the ground.
“We have been engaged only a few hours, and already you are making the wedding arrangements?”
“I was excited” the blushing advisor admitted quietly with a shrug.
Glorfindel chuckled and pulled Erestor towards him by the hands; bringing them up to his lips to kiss affectionately before whispering in hushed tones into his ear. Both Elrond and Lindir raised their brows as Erestor chuckled and nodded; his blush only intensifying.
“Elrond…” Erestor began, not looking away from his lovers gaze, “…I have a headache, I will be in my quarters if you need me”
Elrond laughed as his chief advisor was lead from his office without so much as a glance back, Lindir simply stood there open mouthed.
They walked through the halls, proudly hand in hand as they made their way back to their private quarters. Stopping only now and then for stolen kisses in the shadows of the hall.
“I swear my love, I will have you a ring soon”
“I care not, as long as I have you I am content”
“Then I am afraid I have condemned you to a lifetime of contentment”
Both chuckled as they tugged at each others clothes, slamming the door to their quarters shut by a single foot.
The End.
