My Immortal
I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone
My dearest Elladan, my dear elder brother, my identical twin. The brave warrior, the fearless Peredhel of Imladris, renowned for his skills and his beauty.
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase
It has been centuries, but it could have been mere weeks ago, or hours, or minutes. For us the pain will not pass, it will never pass for Elladan. For it was him who found her, our dear Naneth, it was Elladan who saw her first, who couldn’t save her. My Elladan, who will never forget.
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me
My Elladan. To me it seems I’ve been there for you always, holding you, telling you your nightmares are not for real. For years. For decades. For centuries. Countless nights, sleepless to me, when I hold you near my heart. My sweet, sweet Elladan. I would give everything to have my brother back, the carefree Elf full of mischief. I have sworn to myself that I will not let you fade. I will keep you safe forever, Elladan.
You used to captivate me
By your resonating life
Now I'm bound by the life you've left behind
Your face it haunts
My once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away
All the sanity in me
Do you miss us, Naneth, do you miss us where you are? Far away, beyond the Sea, do you ever think of us? Do you know what has become of us after you left? Do you know how your firstborn cries himself to sleep every night? How he finds consolation only in my arms, how I hold him night after night, whispering to him? Nay, Naneth, you don’t know, as doesn’t Adar, and not even Elladan, my sweet brother. Elladan, who I would die for, willingly, any day.
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along
My dearest Elladan. My sweet, dear brother, my heart. I miss you, even though we’re together all hours of the day I miss you, my darling brother.
