Disclaimer:
I do not own the Lord of the Rings (and associated) book series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Prologue/What if?
Disclaimer: We don't own Gandalf or anything dealing with LOTR....cause if we did, the story would have turned out A LOT different!!!
It has come to our attention that there seems to be two different Gandalfs. The Tolkien/Jackson Gandalf and our Gandalf. So we thought what would happen it we put the Tolkien/Jackson Gandalf in one of our Gandalfs' situations. Also, we thought to add that the two of us shouldn't be Valar in this one. Zerah is a half-elf (half human-half elf) and Luna is half-hobbit (half hobbit-half elf). Basically our almost real selves in Middle Earth, because our friends were the ones who thought of us that way.
Oh, the opening is more based on the book than the movie, but the rest is kinda mixed between the two. Aragorn knew Arwen was coming to the coronation because afterwards was the wedding.

The One Ring has been destroyed. Frodo has healed, and has heard that some friends he made from Rivendell are coming to visit him when the elves come for the wedding. So Luna and Zerah are there with their friends, the wedding's over, and now there’s the first time of peace.
Or so they think.
The two women are sneaking around Minas Tirith late at night after all the lights have gone out. They rush quickly past the guards, who are mostly asleep themselves. When they reach Gandalfs' room, Luna takes out his room key, and Zerah pulls out the bags.
"You ready?"
"Absolutely!"
Luna opens the door quietly.
"Wow, would've thought that this heavy thing would've at least squeaked a wee bit after all these years."
"No, silly. King Ellesar had all the rooms fixed up before the coronation."
"Oh right."
Zerah mumbles something about Luna's hobbit-side, but Luna doesn't pay any mind as she leaves the door partly open with a nearby chair, while Zerah scans the room for Gandalf's white robes. She finds them quickly laid across a settee, freshly washed. Luna spots his staff leaning against the wall by his bed. Zerah hands Luna a bag, and they nod at each other. Zerah walks softly over to the settee and quickly bundles up the robes and pants, but realizes that his boots aren't there. During this, Luna, as quietly as possible gets the staff, but just as she finishes sliding it into the long thin bag, Gandalf turns over to face her! Both she and Zerah jump as his eyes are open! But Luna looks closer and realizes they aren't looking at anything and shoots a look at her friend, who's trying not to laugh.
"He sleeps with his eyes open like most elves!" Zerah mouths.
Luna rolls her eyes and steps back...onto the boots. She falls backwards still holding onto the staff, and is caught but Zerah just before she hits the floor.
"Thank you!" Luna mouths.
Zerah nods, and while Luna runs over to the door, Zerah stuffs the boots into the bag. She's about to turn to leave when Luna signs to her something she almost forgot. She pulls out a little incense burner from his dress, lights it, then puts it as close to Gandalf's bed as possible, then runs quickly through the door Luna's holding open. She locks it and runs off after Zerah.
"That was easier than I thought it would be!" Luna snickers.
"Yes, hopefully it'll be just as simple putting them back afterwards," Zerah replies, laughing as well as they speed off to their rooms.
The next morning dawns warm and bright. Everyone's been asked to meet in the royal dining hall for breakfast. Zerah and Luna are the last ones to arrive, giggling about something as they sit next to Merry and Frodo, who are curious as to why. The girls say nothing, and just politely shrug. Pippin is the first to realize that Gandalf hasn't shown up yet.
"Maybe someone should go check on him," Faramir says, and he goes to stand.
But just then the doors open to a rather dazed Gandalf the White. At least he was The White Wizard yesterday. He sits down at his seat, mumbles a 'hello' and goes to pour some orange juice. The incense that the girls had left makes the person smelling it disoriented and groggy for a given amount of time. After a moment or two, he notices that no one is moving. He looks up to see everyone staring at him in shock. Then Gimli starts giggling, followed by Legolas, and finally Merry and Pippin. The rest are still too shocked, their jaws to the floor. Gandalf looks down at himself, his eyes going wide for a moment then turning to slits. His white robes have been tye-dyed hot pink! And his staff is painted pink as well, with little hearts, vines, and flowers and such. And the top part of it is filled with little pink flowers.
During all the commotion, no one paid attention to the girls quietly trying to get out of the room, except for Gandalf.
"ZERAH ALAKA!!! LUNA DELCOR!!"
The girls, without even looking back, fly through the doors and down the halls, trying to get as far away from the enraged Wizard, who got up after them before they were even past the threshold, throwing bright balls of energy at them as they ran through the lower streets on the White City.
Back at the dining hall, everyone's calmed down, though the shocked ones are now smiling.
"Well that's one good way to start a morning," Arwen says, picking up her toast and buttering it.
"I agree. I hope they do something like that every morning," smiles Eomer.
They all start laughing anew until something dawns on Pippin.
"But what if it's one of us who's next?"
They all stop then, look at each other, and then smile.
"Not gonna happen!" Gimli laughs, and goes on eating.

Well, we hope you all enjoyed our little mishap on our "What If" prologue! Yup, this is the beginning to our new story, though it has nothing to do with the story itself. Think of it as a little "mini sketch" before the real thing.
On the Scenarios Chat Room: Gandalfs Date with.... well you'll have to read to find out!
