Prologue:
A resounding cheer went up among the stands as the two silhouettes emerged out from the shadows and into the center of the flat-faced ring. The firelight from the sconces mounted on the walls reflected on their bare flesh, and the visual deception made it seem as if their grey eyes were aglow as they stared challengingly at one another.
The two figures slowly circled in a predatory fashion, eyes never leaving their opponent’s person. Together they stood alone in a stone pit of death, garbed only in boots and dark, tattered britches, where blood splattered walls surrounded them. Neither Elf desired the death of the other, such was against their nature, but in this dismal place in which they were now bound; one's choice was limited to either kill or be killed.
They had become savage monsters in this place, where they were forced into combat until neither had the strength to continue, and the Men who had captured them took great pleasure in their suffering. Both could smell their carnal lust even from where they stood, and with their enhanced Elven sight could easily see several of the Edain with their hands buried beneath their garments, shamelessly fondling themselves to hardness as the objects of their perverted fantasies performed their dance of death.
Both knew their punishment if they should refuse to fight. Both had learnt very quickly to do as they were bid. The beatings were harsh, never ceasing till they lay upon the ground, unconscious. That in mind, the younger warrior was the first to attack.
The fist flying towards the other Elf was quickly caught in a firm hold, and while expertly twisted and held at his back, a second hand shot out and grasped him around the waist. But before anything more could be done, the restrained Elf threw back his head, successfully knocking his captive in the face and thus causing him to loosen his grip. That was all the sun-kissed blonde Elf needed to escape his grasp, and as the taller Eldar’s hand fled to cup his bleeding nose, the slighter of the two threw out a kick forcing the other Elf off balance as he was knocked squarely in the chest.
Angered at being outsmarted by a mere whelp, the older Elf was quick to retaliate. Wiping his bloodied hand on his leggings, he glared menacingly at the Silvan before taking him by surprise and tackling him to the stone floor. The young one grunted as the force of the other Eldar drove the air from his lungs, and it took a moment for him to gain his wits, but his short lapse was enough for a fist to deliver a blinding blow to his skull.
Stars seemed to flash behind the Elf’s eyes and the room began to spin, but he still possessed enough sense to acknowledge his surroundings and managed to focus his strength to lift his legs from beneath him and kick his opponent away.
Both struggled back to their feet, barely aware of the applause erupting around them. The shorter Elf’s vision was swimming, and in his weakened state he had no doubt that this match would be a brief one.
A mass of gold and silver hair swirled as the two Elves dodged each other’s blows. The older one’s body movements graceful and sure, while the slighter one lacked steady grounding, as they circled around in a dynamic dance of skill verses will.
The younger one’s skill, however, was no match for the more experienced warrior, in any case, and he was wavering with his dizziness from a combination of both lack of nutrition and the strike to his head. Already his muscles rippled with both sweat and exhaustion, and through his blinding haze, he could tell his opponent was faring better, though quickly tiring.
His distraction gave the other enough time to kick out a foot and trip him onto his back, before raining down upon him once again.
"I don’t wish to harm you," the Elf on top panted.
The younger one looked up, struggling to gain focus on him, his own lungs heaving to gasp in precious oxygen. "Then don’t!"
Regret flitted across the elder figure’s face, an apologetic gaze in his eyes. "I’m sorry."
His last coherent thought was that of the other's hands gripping his sensitive ears before the stands around him flew past his line of sight before he struck the cool ground.
