The Sea Has Many Stories

The sea has many stories of ship wrecks, sea monsters, legends and myths and out there somewhere Sean had one of his own, it seemed to much of a fantasy to be true, but it happened nonetheless.

He'd been to sea many times since, looking, watching for any sign of it happening again, but to no avail. Each time he went out to the same co-ordinates he would call out to him, but he never came.

"If ever you're in need, call my name and I will come." he had said.
"But I don't know your name." Sean replied watching him go.
"Yes you do." he smiled and he was gone, leaving Sean alone on the little boat that seemed to be suddenly four times larger, the little bed just big enough for two looking as though it belonged in a kingsize hotel room instead of a dreary little cabin.

As usual today he went out to the same spot, looking, calling, but nothing, desperation was creeping in more and more. He sank to the deck with his head in his hands and the tears flowed.
"Damn it, what is your name? You said I knew it." he shouted at the top of his voice staring at the vast expance of ocean, still all he heard was the waves gently lapping the sides of the boat.
He decided with a heavy heart to return to shore, his mind remembering the kisses they shared, the lovemaking on that little bed in that little cabin and how the mysterious human left as suddenly as he appeared, he came from the sea and returned just as quick.

Sean turned on the battery radio to break the silence, he listened to someone talk about a brother they once had, who had been tragically lost at sea, it made him think of a good friend he once knew who had been lost at sea during a freak storm, fell over the side, never to be seen again, as if he didn't have enough to be sad about he had just given himself something else to think about and he found himself saying his name softly,
"Elijah." the wind suddenly blew harder and then calmed again.
"ELIJAH!" he shouted, but the calm continued and he shook his head,
"You stupid idiot, what are you doing, that lad died three years ago, how the hell is he going to hear you." he chastised himself.
He reached the shore, moored the boat and went back to his apartment. When the night had come he went for his usual walk in the moonlight along the beach, hearing the waves gently break on the beach, the occasional car in the distance, Sean finds his favourite spot on the rocks and sits, looking out to sea, watching the it race up to meet the endless stars in the sky.

"Hello."
He turns to see the shape of a man standing on the rock with his arms folded across his chest and a big smile across his face.
"Hi." he replied and looked back out to sea again.
"Mind if I join you a while?" the stranger said while sitting.
"Sure, help yourself, it's a free world." Upon looking at him a second time Sean noticed his eyes, even in the full moon he could see they were blue, they seemed to sparkle, tiny little lights flashed on and off like a load of camera flashes in the distance, he turned, looked at the moons reflection on the sea and then looked at the strangers eyes again, the same reflection was there to, then something clicked in the back of his mind, 'I've seen eyes like that before, I can't remember where.' Sean thought.

"The name's Elijah." the stranger said holding out a hand for Sean to shake.
His mouth dropped as he shook the hand.
"Sean." he replied. " This is going to sound stupid but you seem familiar, I'm sure I've seen you before, but I can't think where."
"You have seen me before Sean."
"I knew it, where?"
"You called me." Elijah smiled.
Seans mind went in circles, 'it can't be, could it'.
Elijah sighed,
"Maybe this will remind you." He put a hand on the back of Seans head, he lightly brushed Seans bottom lip with his tongue, teasing, urging him to open, and Sean found himself obeying, he felt Elijahs warm velvet tongue exploring his mouth making him whimper unintentionally, taking his breath away. Elijah pulled away, looked at him and then teased his ear, making Sean gasp, kissing, nibbling and then whispering,
"I told you I'd come if you called."
Sean pulled away, took a step backward and stared at him, eyes wide
"What's wrong?" Elijah asked.
"But...I..." the words failed him. Elijah laughed.
"You always stammered when you were lost for words."
"How do you know that?"
"I know alot about you Sean, for example, how you always leave a roast potato until last when you are having your sunday roast, or how you always have to make sure that ironed crease is in the centre of your pillow and the quilt has to be the same, that little sensitive spot on the left side of your hip and on the back of your neck...need I go on?"
Sean turned away blushing, Elijah cupped his chin and turned him to face him.
"I've been calling you for such along time." Sean said softly.
"But you didn't call my name until today and that's what I needed you to do so I could return to you."
Sean pulled his chin free and turned away again.
"How long before you disappear as mysteriously as you show up?"
"Sean, I'm here to stay, if you'll have me."
Sean thought a while, turned and kissed him full on the lips.
"Of course I'll have you. You don't realise how long I've been waiting for you."
"Yes I do..." Elijah replied as Sean silnced him again with another kiss.

The End.
