“Harder, elf!” Gimli commanded over his shoulder. “I can
take it!”
Legolas complied, eliciting several grunts from the dwarf.
When he felt all resistance melt under his fingers’ ministrations, he pulled
them out. “How do you want it, then?”
“Straight down the middle.”
For a few minutes, there was only the sound of the pair’s
breathing, as Legolas worked his magic.
Then, “Hurry up! I can’t stand like this much longer!”
“Almost there,” Legolas assured his partner through clenched
teeth. “Ah! Done!” The elf placed the leather thong back in place and walked
around to face the dwarf. “Now you do me.”
“Aye. On your knees.”
The elf knelt, his back to the stout dwarf. Gimli promptly
began to run his fingers through the beautiful blonde hair.
“And how do you want it?”
“The usual,” Legolas replied.
As the dwarf got to work, the elf reflected how nice it was
that one of the Fellowship was interested in the same things he was, could do
what he needed.
It was so difficult to braid one’s hair by oneself without a
mirror.
