Chapter 1

***hate the name, working on finding a better one. Bored, couldn't think of anything else to do, so I started this. Don't know if it's any good, not my place to tell yf itf it's good or not, for all I care it could be crap. Probably have to add some new warnings in later chapters, but right now Im not sure what I'm going to do with the characters so. Speaking of which, I don't own any of the LOTR characters, don't make no money off them, and mean no disrespect to fans, to the people who played the characters, or to proff. Tolkien. I got tired of reading all those stories where Aragorn is in love with Frodo but wont tell him, but Frodo finds out anyway and returns his feelings. So I wrote this one where Frodo wants to go back to the Shire, but Aragorn is hearing none of it. you like that sort of thing, keep reading, you don\hen hen hightale your ass outta here, theres no reason for you to stay. K Im done now***

***ok ppl, chapter 2 is in the making, and should be posted very soon. Sorry it took so long, but i was kind of busy with sotherther stuff, and i needed some time to think about how the story would go. I made a 2nd chapter 2 before, but i trashed that one as well, not that thats really of any importance, but yeah.***

Chapter 1

***Frodo waited in anticipation, wondering what it was that Aragorn had for him. He felt something cold, like metal around his neck, and heard a loud “snick” like the closing of a lock. His eyes flew open, suddenly worried, and put a hand to his throat. There he felt a large thick metal band there, and he could find no way to remove it. He heard a rattle, and another click behind him, and spun around to find that, the band had a chain attached to it, and that Aragorn had just attached the other end of the chain and a metal loop in the wall.

Frodo looked on the man in terror, what on earth did he want from him? Why would he do this?
‘A-A-Aragorn?’ He stuttered. The man looked at him, a smile on his face as though this was not wrong, as though he was giving Frodo a great gift, as opposed to chaining him to the wall like an animal.
‘Now you shall never leave me Frodo.’ He said, before turning and walking away, out of the room. He cast glance back at Frodo, gave him another grin, and then closed the door.***

***Flashback***
Frodo had been having a marvellous time in Minas Tirith, especially since Pippin and Merry had joined him and Sam, and since he was no longer under the burden of the Ring. It had been really lovely to see the white city, and Pippin and Merry gave them a personal tour of it. But Frodo wanted to return to the Shire desperately. This was a good city, and it was pleasant enough to stay there, he did not wish to leave Aragorn, or any of the others behind, but they had done what they had set out to do, Aragorn had even received his crown and taken his place as king, and Frodo wanted to see the green hills of the Shire again. This city was far to grey, and it was all made out of stone, save for the gardens of the houses of healing, which Frodo visited often.

The others agreed that it was time to go home, though he had never said anything to them. In fact, surprisingly enough, it was Pippin’s idea to go back to the Shire. Everyone else agreed that it was time to leave the white city, pleasant as it was, and go back to the peaceful ways of the Shire. Frodo and Aragorn had been spending alot of time together as of late, Aragorn insisted on it, and Frodo made no protest, for he enjoyed the company of this man who had been his friend through so many dangers.

When he had told Aragorn that they would be leaving for the Shire soon, Aragorn didn’t take it very well. He had tried to hide it, but Frodo could tell just by looking at Aragorn’s eyes. Frodo had always found that a useful quality of his, being able to almost always tell what someone was thinking just by looking in their eyes. He had tried to comfort Aragorn, but the man had refused, saying that he did not need comforting, and that he was just fine. But Frodo had heard the guards whispering of how the king had seemed so depressed as of late, and it broke Frodo’s heart to have caused the man such grief. Aragorn had, many times, tried to convince Frodo not to leave, but Frodo could not be swayed, he needed to go home. If Frodo had been paying more attention, he would have noticed that Aragorn did not try to convince the others, not even Gandalf, to stay, only him. But Frodo had not been paying attention, he was too excited and depressed about leaving.

Then, on the evening before they were supposed to set out for the Shire, Aragorn had summoned him to his chambers. Frodo had gone there, and he and Aragorn had shared a bottle of wine, though Aragorn had most of it, and Frodo drank little, not wishing to overdo it the night before they left. They had talked much, and laughed for several hours late into the night. But when Frodo had announced that he needed to go to bed, so that he would not fall asleep on the way to the Shire, Aragorn suddenly got a stony look in his eyes. Frodo had assumed it to be from the wine, and heeded it little, even though it had sent a shiver down his spine at the time.

Aragorn had stood from the table they were standing at, and bid Frodo do the same near the wall he was now chained to. If Frodo of really thought on this, he would have found it odd that the king would ask him to stand near this wall. But he did not think on it, and did not find it weird at all, so he courteously obliged. Aragorn had told him to close his eyes, that he had a surprise for Frodo, and Frodo had raised an eyebrow at him. “really Aragorn I’m not a child.” He had said, mocking Aragorn’s idea that he should close his eyes, that was such a childish game. But Aragorn insisted, so Frodo, too tired to argue, finally gave in and closed his eyes, but perking his ears at the sounds he heard. He had heard a clatter coming from the corner of the room, something being dragged across the floor, and then he had felt the collar on his neck.***

Frodo could not believe what Aragorn had done! He was going to hold him prisoner in Minas Tirith! Frodo went over to the hook in the wall, and tried to take the chain off, but he found that it was locked fast. He pulled mercilessly on the chain, but it did not relent even in the slightest. Frodo finally sunk to the ground, worn out from the effort, and angry tears slid down his face.

How could Aragorn, his friend Aragorn, the man who had saved him from so many threats, the man who was now king of Gondor, that Aragorn, how coue doe do this to him? He had trusted Aragorn at a time when he trusted few, and Aragorn had helped him. Aragorn had kept his trust through so many battles and times of worry, and now Aragorn took that trust and abused it.

Without meaning to, Frodo slipped into a troubled sleep. A sleep filled with dark dreams, and of the world falling into shadow.

***dream***
Frodo was standing on the edge of Mount Doom, holding the Ring on its fine silver chain out in front of him. It was whispering to him louder than ever, promising things that he did not wish to have. He was just about to let it slip from his fingers when suddenly Sauron was standing before him. He raised his hand and backhanded Frodo hard across the face, making him lose consciousness. When he awoke, he was in a dark room. It was black, there was nothing but pitch black darkness, no beginning and no end to it. Frodo was about to stand up when he heard a familiar snick. He whipped around to find that Sauron had chained him to the wall with a collar. Sauron smiled at him, and his face slowly turned to Aragorn’s. He advanced towards him, and Frodo let out a blood curdling scream.***

Frodo woke up to the sound of screaming, and found that it was his own scream that filled his ears. He looked around to see light filtering in through the windows. It was morning. Frodo yawned widely, and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. Morning! Frodo sat bolt upright, nearly choking himself with the collar. He impatiently disentangled himself from the chain, and stood up, walking hastily towards the window. Frodo found that his chain leash was surprisingly long, and gave him an excellent amount of leverage. He pulled open the curtain and looked dowt tht the window. But he was not looking at the city, he had seen it several times. No he was looking towards the sky, checking to make sure that it really was morning. It was. The sun was just beginning to rise welcoming the dawn of a new day and filling Frodo’s heart with relief. If it was morning then Gandalf and the others would surely notice his absence and come looking for him. They knew he had come to see Aragorn, and they would not leave without his consent. Frodo couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt this relieved. Aragorn would not keep him captive here. Sam and the others would come. Frodo relaxed his back against the wall again, completely brushing aside the fine chairs Aragorn had in his room. Frodo did not wish to owe Aragorn any favours when Sam and the others came for him. *Dear Sam* he thought. *You’ve helped meoughough so much already. Please come and help me again.* With that he let himself drift back to sleep, this time it was a peaceful sleep.

***hope you like it so far. For any of you aragorn fans, you probably wont like this story when I get done with it, but you should have gotten that from the beginning part of it. I seem to be beating up on poor Frodo alot huh. Oh well. Anyway i was gonna say something... but I can't remember what... I'll have to put it in the next chapter or something like that. Well whatever, hope you like the story so far. Well thats a lie, i really couldn't care less if you like the story. Still nice to know if im improving on my works at all, or if im just standing still.***

***ok for those of you who have read them, I deleted the original 2nd and 3rd chapter, for they were not working properly with the first chapter. I will try to remake them better than before, and so that they make more sense, but if anyone has any suggestions for them, or anything they'd like to see in it (slash, torture, lemon, etc) then Im more than willing to hear what you'd like to see, and try to fit it in properly with the story.***
