Title: Love's First Spark

Author's Note: Rather AU following the events of the movies, just
after the Ring was destroyed, in preparation of Aragorn's coronation.
Yeah, hope that made sense, it did in my head. Yeah.

The survivors of both great battles had been straggling into Gondor
for hours, to get food and clothing and have wounds tended to... and
to find help burying the dead. Faramir had been thankfully and
heroicly rescued by Pippin Took, a brave young hobbit. He was now
helping where he could, providing food and rooms to those in need.

It was then he spotted Eowyn across the great hall, tending to the
wounded. He turned to his now king, Aragorn. "Is it true that the
lady," he indicated Eowyn "fought the Nazgul and fought in battle?"

Aragorn gazed at the slight woman. "It is." He said quietly. "She
is a very brave woman." He continued to watch her. "Though at
times, foolish as well." He looked at Faramir then, and saw the
admiration in his eyes, along with shock, and a bit of what Aragorn
would call fear.

Faramir had met the Lady Eowyn already, and instantly they had been
attracted to each other. Aragorn smiled. "You know, she is without
a man." He told him, as he knew Faramir was wondering.

Faramir eyed Aragorn. "Is it that obvious?" he sighed. "And was it in
fact the Witch King of the Nazgul that she defeated? And it's beast?"

"Indeed it is so." Aragorn replied, his eyes full of laughter. "She
disgused herself as a warrior, and rode with her uncle's army." He
grinned. "And yes, it is that obvious."

Faramir shook his head. "Foolish female!" he spat out. Then his voice
softened, to match the flame that shone in his eyes... the flame of
attraction. "And so brave... and beautiful."

Before his judgement could get the better or him, or before he would
decide he was indeed making a fool of himself, Faramir strode across
the hall. "M'lady," he greeted Eowyn, giving the proper bow.

She turned in surprise, and when she saw who it was she blushed
slightly. "My Lord." She returned. "You are feeling better?" She
asked, indicating his wounds.

Faramir cleared his throat, suddenly his tongue felt very thick. "Er,
yes, thank you. I had an excellent healer in the wizard and in
Aragorn. I wondered...." He cleared his throat again and a blush
crept up on his neck. "If you would do me the honor of talking a walk
with me tonight.... I have heard of your braveness and your
victories, and it would indeed be a great honor to spend time with
such a woman. Perhaps after the evening meal?"

The blush on Eowyn's cheeks darkend, and she smiled softly. "I would
like that very much, my Lord." She half whispered, looking into his
eyes. "I have heard of your brave deeds as well, and would love to
have you speak of them." Her eyes glistened beautifully.

Her eyes were beautiful, a sparkling blue, and he was instantly lost
in their depths. His own fair eyes sparkled as he looked upon her.
Yes, she was as dirty and bedraggled as everyone who had battled had
been... but she could not be any more lovely to his eyes.

"Thank you, M'Lady," he said softly. He raised her hand to his lips,
and brushed a kiss upon it, giving her a daring wink, then strode
away to once again help Aragorn.

Eowyn watched him leave, thrilled by the kiss he had placed on her
small hand, and shocked, but no less thrilled, about the wink he had
given her as well. She smiled softly, then turned to go about her
business, wondering what she was going to wear tonight.

Meanwhile Faramir had reached Aragorn, who was giving him a knowing
grin. "What?" Faramir asked, trying to look innocent. Aragorn
laughed and shook his head. "Did you win the fair lady's heart?" He
asked.

Faramir narrowed his eyes. "A gentleman never tells," he said with a
wink as a smile broke out on his face. "And she has agreed to walk
with me. She is so beautiful....."

"She is." Aragorn agreed. "She is to walk with you? When?"

"After the evening meal." He took a deep breath. "I am in love...."

"That is wonderful to hear." The King replied, truly happy for
Faramir. "She is a beautiful and good woman, but be warned that she
can be fierce and very stubborn."

Faramir chuckled, his mind wandering to Eowyn, and settling there.
All through the meal, he could hardly eat, and Legolas kept poking
him in the side to stop staring at Eowyn, as it was incredibly rude.
Faramir truly could not help it though; she had enchanted him and
stolen his heart.

Eowyn was the same. She sat beside her brother Eomer, who of course
caught the the stares that were passed between his sister and the
young Gondorian Lord. He smiled and shook his head. If Eowyn and
Faramir were to marry, he would be happy. The Lord was a good and
noble man, strong and b. Ju. Just the kind of man his head strong
little sister needed.

After the meal, Faramir changed into a very presentable tunic and
leggings, leaving his weapons behind. He would not need them this
evening. He proceeded with a thumping heart to her door, wishing to
someday call her his lady. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the
door.

They Eoy Eowyn was just finishing refreshing herself, having changed
into a beautiful green velvet gown. She heard the knock on her door
and jumped a little, and after taking one last look in the mirror,
she went to the door and opened it.

Faramir stood there waiting, looking dashing. She gave him a shy
smile. "Good evening, Lord Faramir." She greetd him, giving a
slight curtsey.

He bowed deeply to her, then kissed her hand. "M'Lady. Thank you for
this pleasure. I am afraid that the gardens have mostly been
destroyed, so perhaps just a walk along the level?" Faramir asked. He
was nearly breathless at the site of her. "And may I say... you ahve
taken my breath away." he whispered.

Eowyn blushed something awful, and her heart sang at his
compliment. "I thank you, my Lord." She said softly. "I did not
have much as far as clothing went, but I so wanted to please you."

She stopped suddenly when she realized what she had said. "I am
sorry." She apologized quickly, throughly embarrassed. "That was
not at all proper."

He smiled at her. "I do not find it improper. May I have your
permission to call you Eowyn? It is such a lovely name for a lovely
lady."

Her heart skipped a beat at his request, and her embarassment
vanished. "Yes, you may." She told him. She tilted her head a
little, studying him. "Shall we walk?" She asked after a moment,
which was spent gazing into each other's eyes.

"Yes please," Her arm encircled his, and he held her hand lightly.
The contact nearly sending him into shivers, their connection was so
strong. "Call me Faramir," he bid her softly as he escorted her
outside.

They walked and talked casually, and soon the sun began to
set. "There is only two things more beautiful then a sunset," he
whispered.

Eowyn turned to look at him, her eyes soft and lit with a strong
emotion....."What are they?" She asked breathlessly. Faramir turned
to her, and a gentle hand reached up to caress her face.

"A sunrise, which means you have lived to see another day," he said
softly. "And you." Slowly he leaned forward, intending to kiss her
sweet lips. Eowyn's heart thumped widly inside her chest, and she was
sure he could hear it. Suddenly, in one bold move, she closed the
gap between her and Faramir, and she kissed him with a passion that
she did not know she possessed.

Faramir pulled her against his chest, kissing her deeply, one arm
around her waist, the other in her hair. For a moment, the world
stopped and only they existed, as they shared that kiss. Then, after
what seemed like an eternity, the kiss broke, leaving them both
breathless.

Eowyn stared at him, and when she got her breath back, she
whispered. "I should say that I found that improper, but I would be
lying if I did." She laid her head on his strong chest, and the wind
picked up a few strands of her hair. The light of the moon gleamed
down on her tresses, and Faramir watched as they glistend like gold.

He sighed. "Your brother is giving me an evil eye," he whispered. "I
think he wishes me to escort you to your room, as it is getting late.
I do not wish to be hurt so soon after being healed." He kissed her
cheek and once again took her arm and escorted her.

Halfway back to where her room was located, Faramir said softly. "You
are so beautiful.... and so foolish my sweet Eowyn. To have risked
your life in such a way. It is brave, yet foolish. If I was your
father, I would have given your backside a tanning you would have
never forgotten, and he will be remiss as a father if he does not,"
Faramir gently scolded, not realizing that Eowyn's father was no
longer living.

Eowyn's eyes got very big at that. Did she hear him right?!? Surely
not. But she did not focus on those words, but on the ones of her
father. "My father is no longer among the living." She told him,
trying to keep her emotions under control. "He left this world many
years ago." Her eyes filled with tears, and she let his arm go,
preparing to go into her room.

Faramir did not release her arm, pulling her close to his chest once
more, caressing her soft cheek, his thumb brushing away a stray
tear. "And who has raised you to be so lovely?" he whispered. "Surely
you had someone."

She stared up at him, her eyes still wide, shocked that he had pulled
her back when she tried to leave. "My uncle raised me, and my
brother of course." She closed her eyes for a moment, then opened
them again. "But he is gone as well. All I have is my brother."

Eowyn looked up at Faramir again. "But he would not do such a thing
to me." She told him. "He understands me, and why I did it. He
does not think it was so wrong. Why do you?"

"Because your heart is not one that should be lost in such a cruel
way, to deprieve the peoples of your light and smile. And..." he
gulped, feeling himself go out on the perverbial limb. "To break my
heart. It was so brave, but foolish, for you could have died. He does
not think it important to instill that your life is sacred, not only
to you, but... those... who care... deeply for you?" he whispered.

She stared at him, her speech stolen by what he had said. To break
his heart, he had said.....and those that care deeply for her. Her
wide eyes glazed over with tears, and she finally spoke.

"Are you one of those that care deeply for me, my Lord Faramir?" She
asked, looking into his eyes. Faramir nodded slowly. "Aye. I am
indeed." he whispered. "Are... are your feelings of the same nature?"
He just had to know before he acted on the way he felt.

She smiled at him, and the light and beauty of that smile dazzled him
like nothing else ever had. "Yes, they are." She whispered. She
placed a soft kiss on his lips. "They are indeed."

"May we enter your room?" he whispered, dusting the side of her face
with soft kisses. "May I ask why, my Lord?" She asked.

"Because," Faramir's voice was light and riddled with emotion. "I
wish to show you how much I care for you." He looked deep into her
eyes, urging her with his own to trust him. He squeezed her hand
gently in reassurance.

Eowyn's eyes went wide, knowing what he meant. Or at least she
thought she did. "Are you sure we should do that so soon?" She
asked him shyly. "Indeed," he whispered, leaning close to her
ear. "The sooner the better my sweet, for you need to know, and I
need to show."

She blushed for about the hundreth time since meeting this wonderful
man, then looked up and down the hall to make sure no one was
watching. She smiled and opened the door, and the both slipped
in. "My brother will kill you if he finds out." She whispered, as
if Eomer was near enough to hear her.

Faramir smiled. "I do not fear him, though I suppose I should." he
kissed her again, gently on her pretty lips. Eowyn took his hand and
led him into her room, blushing still, her heart fluttering.

As Eomer, who had been spying, charged towards his sister's room, the
strong arm of Aragorn, who had been going to his own quarters,
grabbed the young Rohan warrior.

Eomer glared at the King. "Release me." He ordered. "That man just
walked into my sister's room!" Aragorn had a smirk upon his weary
face. "Eomer, I have known Faramir for a long time. His love for your
sister is pure, and he is an honorable man. He is not doing what you,
and your sister, think he is going to do."

For a long moment Eomer only stared at him. "What do you speak of?"
He asked. Aragorn raised a regal eyebrow, resembling the stern
eyebrow Lord Elrond of Rivendell often raised at him when he was a
mischevious young boy.

"Eomer, think hard. If the woman you loved and hoped to make your
wife, went to battle dressed as a man, and slayed the Witch King of
the Nazgul and his beast.... what exactly would you do?" His voice
held a hint of laughter, and his eyes twinkled with it.

Eomer's eyes went wide at that, and the brotherly instinct to protect
his little sister kicked in. "No!" He snarled. "He will not lay a
cruel hand upon my sister!" He tried to break away, but Aragorn had
a good grip on him, and pulled him back.

Aragorn gave Eomer a slight shake. "Eomer! He will not INJURE her! He
loves her for Valor's sake! But he is scared for her, for losing her,
and he needs to make her understand how precious she is to him! Would
not a father spank a beloved child who risked his life foolishly?" he
asked, as though lecturing a young child.

The Rohan warrior stared at him in shock for a moment, then he really
thought about Aragorn's words. He sighed and nodded. "You are
right." He admitted reluctantly. "She behaved very foolishly. Had
our father, or even our uncle been here, they would have corrected
her in the same way."

"And should not a man who wishes to treasure her always as a wife, do
the same when father or uncle is not here to instill that lesson?"

"I suppose so, but I am her brother. I should be the one to do
it." "Then perhaps after Faramir you would wish a turn?" Aragorn
asked with a chuckle. Eomer couldn't help but smile. "No. I believe
the lesson will be well learned when he is done. I will not have to
renforce it, I think."

Aragorn laughed loudly. "You sound as though you will barge in and
check her backside!"
nadriede_cede: Eomer blushed slightly. "Now I may do that, to make
sure Faramir was not too harsh on her."

Aragorn doubled over with roaring laughter. "My friend, you are
certainly amusing! I do not think your sister would appreciate that,
and you may get a slap across the face!"

Eomer laughed as well. "There is no doubt, my friend." He agreed.
He glaced back at the door, and frowned, worrying again. "But I
truly hope he does not take things too far." He added.

Aragorn shook his head. "Faramir is a more sensitive young man, he
lets his heart rule his judgement. I doubt he could bear to spank her
beyond what she could truly take. Come my friend, let us get a drink.
You shall need one if indeed you do decide to check your sister's
backside after Faramir finishes!" Eomer smiled and agreed, and the
two went off for a drink and a chat.

While Aragorn and Eomer had their exchange in the hallway, once
Faramir was led into Eowyn's room, he went slowly to the bed and sat
down. "Come here my sweeting," he whispered softly. His face showed
only love and tenderness, not a hint of what was to come.

For a moment she stood there, feeling very shy and nervous. "I
should lock the door." She said, and turned to do so. When Eowyn
had that done, she turned back to him but remained where she was,
staring at him.

He smiled at her, a small smile, full of thoughtfullness. "Eowyn, you
make my heart sing with love and joy. You are precious to me. Trust
me darling." He held out his hand for her to take.

She smiled and went to him, taking his hand. "Perhaps we should not
do this before we get--." She stopped quickly, blushing. He had not
said anything about marriage yet.

Faramir kissed her hand, and a rather roguish look crossed his
face. "Dearest, I must show you how important you are to me," he
whispered.

A moment later, Eowyn found herself face down across his lap, a
strong warrior's arm encircling her waist. It had been many a year
since she had found herself in such a position.

"Faramir, what are you doing?!?!" Eowyn screeched, throughly shocked
and horrified.

"Your father and your uncle guardian have passed. your brother has
been remiss in his duties. I shall not be. I shall not offer marriage
to a woman, even if she had captured my heart and love forever, who
does not understand how precious her life is to those around her. And
that, Eowyn, Lady and Princess of Rohan, is what I shall teach you,
here and now, thereby showing my love."

Faramir dismissed her screech and pulled her skirt up onto her back,
rather smirking at her lacy, feminine underthings, which were quickly
and gracefully lowered to her pretty knees.

"Faramir, you release me this instant!" She demanded, using her most
regal sounding voice to intimadate him. "You have no right to do
this to me! You cannot! You said yourself that my deeds were brave
and wonderful!"

"Brave and wonderful indeed they were, queen of my heart. But never
again, my darling, shall I have you risk your life in such a way. I
would be curesed forever should I be forced to live without you" He
admired the creamy white smoothness of her shapely thighs and bottom.
It was nearly a shame to marr their beauty with the angry red of a
spanking, but he must, it was his duty. "You have been a naughty girl
Eowyn!" he lectured, lifting his hand and bringing it down with a
crash upon her left cheek.

Eowyn wailed loudly, not believing he had actually struck
her. "Faramir, do not!" She howled, her vision blurred by
tears. "I had to fight! It was my duty!"

"Nay, it is not anymore!" His hand flew down in rapid succession all
over her bottom, falling into a steady rythym.

Eowyn shrieked and kicked her legs. She could not believe she was
being spanked like some naughty child! "Stop!" She begged. "My
brother is going to kill you!" She said between sobs.

Faramir shook his head; all spanked girls were alike. He remembered
back when he was young lad, and had snuck into his brother's chambers
when he heard strange noises. Apparently Boromir punished his loves
regularly, for one naughtiness or the other. And now, apparently,
Faramir was practicing the skills he had seen long ago from Boromir!

"Eowyn, I shall NOT stop until you are sufficiently spanked, your
bottom is hardly even blushing, what a fuss you make!" He scolded.
SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK The loud cracks of his hand seemed to echo in
her bedchamber as prints of his hand appeared across her cheeks.

"Of course I am making a fuss, you stupid man!" Eowyn shouted. It
was her habit, and not a very good one at that, to get smart mouthed
when being punished this way. She had always done that, even as a
child. "And what would you know about MY bottom and how it
feels?!?! It is not your ass that is being beaten!"

Faramir laughed. "What a nasty thing to say when your bottom is
already being spanked! Not quite your smartest move dearest!" SMACK
SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK He peppered her tender sit spot with
several sharp, stinging spanks. "I am not beating you, it is a
spanking, I do not beat women, no do I beat my men."

Eowyn fought back a scream, which was hard to do. But she was very
proud. "Spankings are for children!" She snapped at him, gritting
her teeth.

"Aye, and when you act like a lady who acknowledges her life is
beloved by those around her, there will be no need for spankings. Tis
quite simple logic, m'lady." Faramir was determined to get through to
her and upped the force behind his spanks as her bottom blossomed to
a bright pink, the handprints blending to a uniform color on her
bottom, while it bounced madly under his palm. It was a most
attractive target, but there were better times for such thoughts,
Faramir reminded himself.

Eowyn wailed finally, and began pounding his leg with her little
fist. "I thought you loved me!" She sobbed. Faramir paused in his
merciless assualt on her backside and rubbed slow gentle circles on
the small of her back. "Eowyn, my dearest Eowyn. Did not your father
love you when he spanked you for misbehavior? Or your uncle? Did they
spank to cause you pain, or to teach you a lesson?" he asked softly.
He would not resume spanking unless she understood why.

She gave a great sniffle, relieved that he had stopped. "Yes." She
whispered. "They loved me. That is why they spanked me." She
buried her face in the material of his soft leggings, her small
shoulders shaking.

"My dearest, that is why I spank you! It does not make me feel happy
to make you cry! Indeed, it hurts me to know I cause you pain! But if
it spares your life someday, then it is worth it. Do you understand?"
He leaned forward and planted a gentle, rather fatherly kiss to the
top of her head.

Eowyn turned her head a bit, lying her cheek on his knee. "Yes."
She told him in a small voice. "I do understand. And I know that
you did this because you love me." She was quiet for a
moment. "Only someone who truly loved me with all their heart would
do what you just did." She whispered, awed and thrilled that he
loved her that much.

Faramir smiled. "Indeed, but I am afraid that the lesson is not
finished being taught." He rapidly resumed his spanking of her, much
harder then before, lifting his right leg to spank her more sensitive
sit spot and thighs to match her glowing backside.

"NOOOO!" Eowyn howled, shocked that he had started again. "Faramir,
I have learned my lesson! I do not need anymore spankings!"

Faramir did not count the spanks he gave to his beloved. Nay, instead
he waited for the signs that the spanking should end. She would stop
squirming and lay still, accepting her punishment; that was the sign
to end a spanking, never before. Of course, he would not mark her,
other then the red that always accompanied a spanking. Her tears and
pleading stabbed at his heart, but he hoped to never have to spank
her for this thing again, so he must make it memorable.

His lady kicked and wailed for a few more minutes, but finally tired
of struggling and begging, and went still when she realized nothing
she said or did was going to make him stop until he was ready. She
sobbed loud and hard, her tears falling onto his black leggings. She
clutched his leg with both hands, holding on tight as she squeezed
her eyes shut.

It was then that the spanks ceased to land upon her tender and
glowing red bottom. Instead, his hand began to slowly, gently, very
carefully, rub her cheeks. "Shhh, it is over my dearest, I promise
you."

"You will not ever spank me again?" She asked between her sobs. She
knew better really, but it didn't hurt to try. Faramir
chuckled. "Never unless you truly deserve it. Or perhaps a light swat
or pinch during love making...." he added as the thought entered his
mind.

Eowyn gave another great sniffle, but couldn't help but grin. "You
are a wicked man, Faramir." She told him, wiping the tears from her
face.

Faramir's heart sank. "Oh," he said softly, his voice riddled with
hurt. His hand froze, mid-rub, not sure what to do.

Eowyn heard the hurt in his voice, and she quickly pushed herself off
his lap. "I was only teasing, my love." She said quickly, the pain
in her backside forgotten for the moment. She crawled into his lap
and kissed him. "I did not mean it in a bad way." She assured him.

His smiled softly. "Truly? For you may hate me with what I must say
next," he said quietly.
nadriede_cede: Her eyes went wide. "I thought you said no more
spankings!" She cried, misunderstanding. "No, no, not a spanking.
But... I was told, er, instructed, that a good spanking is more
effective if a quarter of an hr is spent in the corner with bare red
backside." He cringed, as if waiting for her to slap him, though he
spoke the truth.

She blinked. "Really? And who instructed you on this matter?" She
asked cooly. Faramir yet again cringed. "My mother before she
passed," he whispered. Eowyn was not expecting that.

"She did?" She half whispered. Faramir nodded. "Well, there is
certainly no child of any race that can truthfully claim to have
never had an angry parents palm against their bottom, and I certainly
am no exception," he whispered.

Eowyn couldn't help but smile at that. "This I do not doubt." She
said, kissing him. He softly returned the kiss, his eyes shining with
tears that would not fall, as they always did when he thought or
spoke of his mother.

Eowyn's heart broke at the sight of his tears, and she brushed them
away with a soft thumb. "My Faramir." She whispered. "I know it is
hard to lose your parents. I still cry for mine, and they have been
gone for so long." She kissed him again. "Hold on to me, dear
heart, and I will hold on to you, and we will weather these times
together always."

Faramir nodded and kissed her softly. "To..." his voice cracked and
he had to clear his throat. "To the corner with you now," he
whispered.

She truly did not want to, but she had not the heart to give him a
hard time about it. So she just smiled softly and kissed him once
more, then stood up and kicked her undergarments off, as they were
still about her ankles, and went to the corner.

Faramir sighed heavily and ran his hands through his hair. Just a
moment later, the door slammed open, and there stood Eomer. Faramir
visibly cringed. Eowyn jumped about a mile and turned to look at her
brother. "Eomer!" She yelled. "Get out! You have no right to
barge in here like this!"

Eomer stared at her backside for a moment before shaking his
head. "For the love of Rohan, look at your arse!" he exclaimed.
Faramir burst out laughing.

Eowyn turned a bright red. "That was uncalled for, dear brother."
She snapped, fixing her dress. "Well it's true," Eomer snapped right
back. "And you...." he turned to Faramir, who went tense and still
were he still sat on the bed.

Eomer did not finish his sentence, as Eowyn quickly ran in front of
him, blocking his view of Faramir. "You leave him be." She
ordered. "He did nothing but what he should have done."

Eomer's jaw dropped open and he looked at his baby sister in
shock. "Shut your mouth, Eomer." She told him, grinning in
amusement at her brother's reaction. "I am only telling the truth."
Faramir half frowned-half smirked. He loved Eowyn's fire, yet he felt
foolish at being defended by a woman.

Eomer stared for a few more minutes, then mumbled something
unintelligible and left the room shaking his head.

Eowyn brust into hysterical giggles, and turned to look at Faramir.
She stopped laughing when she saw the frown on his face. "What?" She
asked, puzzled. Faramir just shook his head and kissed her deeply.
She smiled and kissed him back. "You do not approve at the way I
handled that?" She inquired, fingering a lock of his soft hair.

Faramir just laughed. "I love your fire," he whispered. "Hmmm. Well
that is good. Because I have a lot of it, and it often finds its way
out many times."

Faramir ran his finger down the side of her face, one strong arm
pulling her tight to him. "Hmmmm, perhaps I shall see more of that
beautiful bottom of yours over my lap? And perhaps for more then
discipline?" he whispered into her ear before kissing her neck She
giggled. "I like that part." She said, enjoying his kisses.

Their kisses and gentle touches lasted until Eomer burst in, yet
again without knocking, to threaten Faramir's life if he did not
leave Eowyn this instant, as she was an honorable maiden and Faramir
would NOT have his way with her without a proposal of marriage.

While the thought to drop to one knee and ask for her hand and her
heart to be his forever, it was surely the wrong time with her
brother giving him the look of death, a hand lingering dangerously
close to a dagger. Faramir bid his lady love goodnight, with a
respectful kiss upon her hand, and was dragged from the room, where
only Aragorn saved the young man's hide from an irate brother intent
on bruising it.

At the morning meal, with Aragorn thankfully entertaining Eowyn,
Faramir went to her seat, and knelt on one knee, taking her hand in
his. "You have stolen my heart, and my love, forever. Never shall I
love another. I beg now, the honor of claiming your heart, and your
hand, in marriage."

Eowyn stared down at the man she loved, the only man she would ever
love. "I give that honor gladly." She told him, her eyes shining
brilliantly with unshed tears of happiness.

He kissed her left hand, and gently, slowly, slipped an old, but
beautiful ring of rubies and gold, onto her finger. "This" he
whispered. "Belonged to my mother. It was not her wedding ring....
but it was her favorite. And I wish it to be yours, for always."

Eowyn bit down on her lower lip, trying to fight back the tears, but
she lost the battle. But for once, it was a battle that she did not
mind losing. "I shall wear it with great pride and love." She told
him, her voice shaking with emotion. "For always." She added, and
threw her arms around his neck, crying softly.

Faramir held her close, and they sharedtheir tears, tears that would
have brought much hurting were his father still alive, and was
thankful that Denethor was dead. Aragorn quickly ushered everyone
away to give them their peace.

They held each other for a very long time, until their tears dried.
Eowyn pulled away from him, running her fingers through his hair. "I
hope to be a very wonderful wife to you, Lord Faramir of Gondor."
She whispered. "And I promise to do my best to never disappoint
you." He gulped as the doors banged open and a rather angry Eomer
appeared.

"Shit," Faramir grumbled. "YOU DID NOT ASK ME FOR PERMISSION?" Eomer
thundered. Faramir turned white, kissed his bride to be very quickly,
and took of running. "ARAGORN!!!!!!!" he screeched.

Eowyn shook her head, knowing eventually someone would restrain her
brother, at which time she would be sure to give him a whack upside
the head and remind him she was of age now and he could take a flying
leap, for she would marry with or without his permission, but would
indeed wish his blessing upon her and Faramir. She couldn't help but
laugh as she heard Aragorn, Eomer, and Faramir yelling, and the sound
of running feet. This would indeed, be an interesting engagement!
