"Glorfindel!" The name Erestor called in an irritating tone sounded through the Halls of the Last Homely House, and every servant passing distressed advisor could tell that something was very amiss with him.

"O, Glorfindel!' That was the last warning call Erestor uttered, before he barged inside of the Glodel\del's quarters; displeased expression clearly visible on his fair face.

"What in the name of Sauron do you want, you pestering menace?" Glorfindel's head ached from the drink he enjoyed last night, and he cursed every being on this Arda who made that strong dwarven ale, he had consumed in a large amount.

"Get up you lazy bum. It is almost eleven o' clock and you are still in the bed." Erestor ripped the blankets from Glorfindel's form, which left Glorfindel only in his sleeping leggings, and Elda hissed because his privacy had been disturbed, by this annoying creature in front of him.

Glorfindel snatched the blankets back from Erestor's grip and he sneered at the advisor, making him aware that he wasn't wanted here.

"What do you want, Erestor? Why come here and torture me this Saturday morning, when you have a new secretary to do that. Why don't you go to your office and bother him for a change? I am not in a mood for any company this morning."

Glorfindel covered his entire body with the blankets and he turned his back to Erestor, intentionally ignoring another's presence. Erestor threateningly growled as he pulled the blanket from Glorfindel's head, making sure he could see Elda, before he started to chide him for good.

"Ha, ha, very amusing, but I must inform you I had fired a young charge, because he was lazy. Just like you are. Now, get up, you cretin. It's no time for sleep. I need your help. Get ... up ... now !" Erestor's words came in short breaths as he struggled to remove the blanket's from Glorfindel, but the other elf was stronger than him and he kept pulling them back.

"Help with what?" Glorfindel arched his brow in question and he could tell that Erestor felt uncomfortable asking for help.

"With this paperwork, I am behind. I need to finish a report by Monday, but apparently I had lost the other documents somewhere inside of the piled paperwork located on my desk. I was trying to finish it this week, but twins were the usual bothersome creatures, so I couldn't get to it. Please, would you help me."

Erestor asked Glorfindel for aid and he felt like he was going to die from the embarrassment, because this was a first time he had asked anyone for any kind of help.

"Oh, all right, I will help you. But! Instead barging in here like a barbarian, you could have send a servant to fetch me. I would have comeher her way."

Glorfindel chuckled and he raised himself from the messy bed, stretching his muscles in front of the other male. Erestor blushed a little when he saw Glorfindel's naked chest, and he quietly observed those well refined muscles, unconsciously licking his lips at the sight in front of him.

"Erestor do you mind, I have to get dressed. I will come to your study after I am properly attired." Erestor nodded and he quickly disappeared through the door, not wanting to test Glorfindel's patience any further.

*~*~*~*~*

"Pass me the other ink bottle, Erestor." After the tiresome four hours of work, Glorfindel felt that his nerves had been acting up and he desperately tried to stay awake.

He sighed as the other elf intentionally ignored his request and Erestor's raven head buried itself further more with work. Glorfindel who already had enough of it, hissed across the room, getting Erestor's intention for a mere second.

"Pass me the damn thing, Erestor. What are you now, deaf?" His nerves were gone and his mind had been jumpy from the stress these documents had brought to him and he wanted to get out of this stuffy room and enjoy the beauty of the nature today.

But NO, he was stuck here with this nosy advisor and he was hungry because he missed the breakfast and lunch today. He wondered if he started to chew on these damn papers, would they even taste good, and he cursed every servant in this realm for ignoring Erestor's study today.

He couldn't go to the kitchens and abandon Erestor with this work, but every servant seemed to disappear today, just when Glorfindel needed them the most.

"Get it yourself, you oaf. I am busy over here. Look what you had done, now I've lost my concentration, and I have to start counting again. Idiot!" That last word Erestor said under his breath, but Glorfindel heard it nevertheless, and he gasped at the other's rude assessment.

"Fine! I hope you can finish all this work by yourself, because I am leaving."rfinrfindel stood from his spot and he started to leave, huffing angrily as he opened the door.

"Glorfindel, wait, I didn't mean to be rude. I am sorry." Erestor said that with a haste and Glorfindel turned to him with the small twinge of mischief in his eye.

"Hmmm.. you have never been so eager to apologize to me before. Hah? Erestor, the Chief advisor of Imladris, is in trouble and he needs a help from me to settle these documents and to help him with an overdue report. I had lived a long time but I would never have thought that someday you, yourself, would beg for my help."

Glorfindel smirked and he moved himself to his previous seat, taking the ink from the Erestor's table and starting another pile of the papers, amongst the two remaining.

"Ah, stop rubbing it in Glorfindel. I didn't beg you for a help. I just asked for it."
Erestor frowned, releasing a deep sigh of relief, thanking the Valar that other elf didn't abandon him.

"Sure, whatever. Hey, I just had a marvelous idea." Glorfindel's face brightened and Erestor looked at him with a raising suspicion, wondering what the other one was cooking inside of his head.

"What idea, Glorfindel?" Erestor pretended like he wanted to hear it, but instead he was counting the figures on the paper and his mind was occupied mostly by that task.

"I dare you to have a little competition with me, Erestor." Glorfindel's eyes twinkled and Erestor raised his head from the paper, confusion clearly written on his face.

"What kind of the competition?" Erestor questioned but he knew that Glorfindel was up to something, by the way Glorfindel's brow furrowed and intense glow in his eyes increased.

"Scribe competition, Erestor. Scribe competition! There are two piles of documents left on this desk, so, I dare you to compete with me, and I dare you to beat me in this competition. Whoever finishes his pile first, claims the title of a winner, and whoever finishes in the second place. Well, he is obviously a loser then."
Erestor chuckled darkly when he heard that stupid idea and he shook his head in disbelief.

"That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard, Glorfindel." Erestor said in the mocking tone but curiosity got the best of him when he asked.

"What's the prize?"

"The winner will have whatever he desires of a loser. Whatever and whenever he desires it. Is that a deal?" Glorfindel smirked and he carefully explored Erestor's reaction to his proposal, leaving the other elf to think about it for a second.

"You mean, if by any chance I win, I could ask of you anything that I desire." Erestor repeated, not sure that he heard the last thing right.

"That's correct." Glorfindel said in a gentle tone, and he saw that a small mischievous streak showed up on the Erestor's face, and he wondered what Erestor would ask of him to do, if by any chance he would turned out to be a winner of this match.

"You mean even if I ask of you to run naked around Imladris, barking like a mad dog, you would do it." Erestor laughed at his own words and Glorfindel flushed a little in embarrassment, praying to Valar that tonight he wouldn't end up being some dog's consort.

"Yes, exactly, now do you agree to it or not." Glorfindel repeated his request and he brought his hand forward, waiting for Erestor to shake it in agreement.

"Yes, I do." Erestor shook Glorfindel's hand and they turned to their own piles of the documents; measuring each one to see if they are equal.

"They started to work on them, and they sighed when they realized, two more hours would pass, before a task would be entirely done.

Erestor knew that content of this piles only consisted in numbers, which he had to add and figure out the total of each and every document. He realized that Glorfindel somehow moved fasterougrough his own pile, and Erestor bit his lip in a silent frustration, silently cursing for getting himself into this game.

He leaned over to see if the other elf cheated, but he could not find fakery in the other's documents, so he turned the attention to his own papers.

Glorfindel observed Erestor, and he knew that the other elf was behind on his own pile and he smirked to himself, for his documents only required signatures and a few corrections, which were very easily done.

Erestor's documents, on the other hand, were pain in the ass and advisor almost pulled his hairs out, when he encountered yet another document which was written by some illiterate scribe of Gondor.

Erestor tried to interpret some words in this message from Gondor, but every time success was nowhere to be found, because the words on that paper were unreadable and their meanings Erestor couldn't comprehend.

He went through it couple of times, adding something to grammar, abstracting it, but Erestor still couldn't find the meanings of it all. He knew that message carried something about the current steward of Gondor but the rest of it was blank to him, like the unwritten peace of paper.

He placed that document away from the pile and he noticed that Glorfindel was looking at him, with a smug grin on his face.

"Cheating, are we." Glorfindel mocked and Erestor's face reddened.

"No, I couldn't read this message and I saved it for later. The Gondor scribes really need to learn how to write."

Erestor sighed in exasperation and Glorfindel got up from his chair and he took that message from the Erestor's desk, quietly observing the text, before he turned to Erestor.

"Oh, the message is from Denethor, and he is informing us that his son Faramir is coming to Imladris next month, to discuss some issues regarding Gondorian defense against Mordor."

Erestor looked at Glorfindel with amusement on his face and Glorfindel lowered the message on the Erestor's another organized pile, before he returned to his seat.

"How in the name of Valar, did you interpret that. I tried to read it, couple of times but I had obviously failed. How did you read that messy writing?" Erestor wondered and they stopped their work for a while as Glorfindel replied with his lowered voice.

"Because my ex had the same messy writing, and I had learned how to read behind all those lost lines. This nothing, but a habit of knowing how interpret something that most of the people find hard to do." Erestor shook his head in understanding and again they lost themselves within those documents, as the hour passed well into the dusk.
