PART ONE

It was incredibly hot and humid, almost like a
tropical rain forest. The deco matched the atmosphere in the room, palm trees
and orchids decorating the walls and corners, giving the whole party an exotic
touch. The music was loudly blaring from the speakers and the crowd on the
dance floor writhed and moved to the deafening beat. There were young, hot
bodies everywhere, grinding together, blending together to the picture of
absolute perfection. In midst of all of this Colin stood next to the bar and
watched the people on the dance floor, his eyes scanning the crowd for somebody
special. Somebody he’d take home with him.

It was odd that the motto of tonight was ‘Tropical Night’ since it was in fact
a Halloween party but then again this was Hollywood. Nothing here was normal
and that was why everything was so much more exciting. The forbidden aspect of
most things that were going on in the world of the rich and beautiful added an
extra thrill to the already exciting life of the stars and starlets gathered in
this room.

Something silver caught Colin’s eye and grabbing a new drink he left the bar,
heading towards the person that had caught his interest. ng hng his way tgh
gh
the crowded room, he approached a young –probably twenty-six year old –woman.
She wore a skimpy tight crimson skirt and a wide silver blouse. Her long
beautifully shaped legs were clad in fishnet tights and she wore red high
heels. The woman had her back to Colin so he couldn’t see her face, but from
the shape of her body he suspected she would have a delicate angelic face. Her
chocolate coloured locks shiningly cascaded over her shoulder.

A dancing couple stumbled and tackled Colin in the process, making him crash
into the unknown beauty, almost sending her crashing to the ground. Colin
cursed the clumsy youngsters in his head and carefully looked up into the face of
what would hopefully be his conquest of the night. The words he was about to
say got stuck in his throat as his stare was captured in the softest and most
gorgeous eyes he had ever seen. Deep mocha brown lured him into speechless
admiration of the perfection in front of him. This was an angel, fallen from
heaven.

“I am terribly sorry.” Finally he was able to regain his ability of speech. But
a tad too slowly. An amused grin had already appeared on the flawless face. “I
hope you are alright.”

“Thank you, everything okay.” The voice was lower than the ordinary female
voice but that didn’t mean it was any less arousing. A blinding smile washed
away the grin and she offered her hand in greeting. “I hope you are alright
too, Mr …?”

Colin took the offered hand and shook it, noticing the soft sand and the strong
gip. “Farrell, Colin Farrell. Colin for you, Miss …?”

They both laughed out loud at the turn of events. The nameless woman shook her
head and reached out, softly stroking Colin’s cheek, sending cold shivers down
his spine. “That is a secret, for you to find out.” She winked at him
mischievously and left him standing baffled in the midst of the crowd. Her back
disappeared in the writhing mass of bodies.

Colin swallowed hard, trying to calm down again. He downed the rest of his
drink and headed back for the bar, desperately in need for another one. Holy
fuck, this woman was hot and she was not as willing and stupid as most of his
chicks were. This one wanted to be hunted and then properly courted. This one
would be perfect.

Back at the bar he ordered another whiskey and noticed Adrian heading over to
him. The tall New Yorker, disguised as a punk rocker, had his arm wrapped
around the waist of some wannabe actress, who had dressed up as Arwen from Lord of the Rings. She giggled excited and kept
constantly looking up at him with big adoring eyes. Colin thought he was going
to throw up. Those were the worst of them all. The ‘I-am-your-biggest-fan’
women. They got clingy and were most of the time the most stupid of them all.

Adrian sent Colin an annoyed look and let go of the now babbling woman,
climbing on a bar stool next to his friend. “Found anything good tonight?” He ordered
a Long Island Ice Tea and ignored the woman, who was almost climbing onto his
lap.

“Yeah, just a couple of minutes ago I met the most gorgeous woman I have ever
seen.”

“What’s her name? Do I know her?” Adrian took a sip from his drink and took a short
survey of the dancing crowd in front of him. He couldn’t find anything remotely
as beautiful as Colin had descd tod to him.

“I don’t know what her name is. She said it was for me to find out.” Colin
turned away from the dance floor and stared at the glass standing in front of
him. The psychedelic lights reflected in it and made the ice floating in the
drink sparkle.

Adrian arched an eyebrow. “What? You just let her go without knowing her name?”
He took a closer look at his friend and couldn’t suppress the grin that was
spreading his face upon seeing the distant look in Colin’s eyes. “Well, she
must have been something, to make you moon over her only after a couple of
seconds.” He grabbed his drink and the girl next to him. Leaning closer to
Colin’s ear, he whispered: “You better start searching for her before somebody
else finds her.” With these words he left the bar, disappearing into the same
direction he had come from.

Colin sighed and downed the rest of his drink. He had to admit he was surprised
himself how much the mysterious woman had affected him. Pining after somebody
he hadn’t known for longer than two minutes –at the maximum, had never happened
before. Maybe he should follow Adrian’s advice and look for the strange beauty
before it was too late and she left or got picked up by somebody else.

He climbed off the bar stool, stroked down the white shirt of his musketeer
costume and walked off into the crowd, searching for the beauty of this night.
He fought his way through the dancing and writhing people, narrowing his eyes
to sharpen his senses. He hoped that he would find her but more importantly, he
hoped that she wasn’t engaged already.

Colin headed for the nearest wall, needing to get a breath. This crowd was
deadly. It was too hot and humid for his taste. The air was thin because of all
the people and Colin thought he might suffocate. Reaching his destination he
hung his head, closing his eyes and taking steadying breaths. He rubbed his
hands over his aching eytryitrying to take away some of the throbbing dull
ache.

“Are you alright?”

Colin cracked his eyes open and found –um, well –blue eyes standing in front of
him. The youngster looked vaguely familiar but Colin couldn’t place him. “ I am
fine, honestly. I just needed some air.” He forced himself to smile
reassuringly at the little one. “ I will be okay, in a couple of secs.”

The blue eyes continued to watch him worriedly and the young boy –Colin didn’t
know how old he was –bit his lower lip, uncertain of what to do and how to
help. He wrung his hands and looked around, obviously searching for somebody to
help.

“Honestly, I swear I am okay.” Colin reached out and squeezed the younger one’s
shoulder. “It was just that …”

“Lij! There you are!”

There was a flash of red and silver coming from Colin’s right and suddenly she
stood in front of him. It was her, the one he had tried to find. Well, at least
Colin didn’t have to return to the deadly crowd to continue the search. Now
that he had finally found the beauty he wouldn’t let her go again.

“Orli, please help. He almost broke down.” The blue eyes looked at his friend
for help.

The curly head took Colin’s appearance in and after a second of studying the
other closely, she reached out for the slumped man and dragged him to the back
of the room. “It seems like gravity is more than you can handle tonight, Mr
Farrell.”

“Colin, please. I asked you to call me by my first name.” Colin was surprised
by the strength of his beauty and secretly wondered what kind of name Orli was.
He didn’t know any female names that sounded like that.

“Colin, it is then.” They reached a group of people sitting on chairs and a
huge leather couch. In the centre stood a large couch table, loaded with a huge
amount of glasses in all stages of emptiness. “Here, sit down. Viggo, shove
over, will you.” The woman forced him to sit down between a cowboy and a Scot.

Everything started to spin and Colin once more rubbed his eyes, forcing the
world to stop moving and his vision to refocus. “Thanks a lot.”

“Are you sure you are alright?”

The concern in the voice made Colin’s inside warm and he felt happiness making
him giddy. What was happening to him? Since when did he get giddy? He was
Colin-fucking-Farrell! He was supposed to make the women giddy and not the
other way around. Colin exhaled heavily and took a closer look at teopleople
sitting all around him.

Okay, there was said cowboy, a Scot, his beauty, blue eyes who was dressed up
as Neo –something Matrix like –wearing tight black leather clothes, a Robin
Hood wannabe with catlike green eyes and short blonde hair and another blonde
dressed as Randy from Grease. Well, interesting to say the least.

“I am sure, that nothing is the matter. It was just the air on the dance floor
or rather the lack of it.” Colin sat up and focused on the woman sitting
opposite him. “So, will you tell me your name now or is it still a secret.”

There was a snort from the Scot next to him and the others of the group seemed
to fight for composure.

What? Had he said anything stupid? Colin started to grow angry. What was so
funny about a guy trying to find out the name of a woman he was interested in.
“What?”

“Nothing,” came the more than unsatisfactory reply from the kilt-clad person
next to him.

The other’s infuriating smile and the collective amusement were enough to make
Colin jump up and dash away from the group. Okay, so he didn’t dash. It was
kind of too crowded to do something as fast as this but he made the fastest
exit that was possible.

Outside the room he leaned against the wall of the corridor, thinking about
what was thttertter with him today. From the time he had got here one strange
thing after the other had happened. The fact that he had been made a fool of in
front of the mysterious beauty didn’t really improve his mood either. Sighing
he straightened and pushed away from the wall, wandering down the corridor to
the exit.

Suddenly there was a hand on his shoulder, making him spin around. “I am sorry
t wht what happened back there.” The mocha eyes looked into his pleadingly,
melting Colin’s resolve to stay angry at once. “Let me make it up, please?”

Colin, reached out for the soft cheeks, brushing over them and staring deeply
into those warm depths. Instead of saying anything, he leaned closer and kissed
the soft pink lips, crushing them. His hands tangled in the silky locks and
guided her closer, flushing his body against her trembling frame. Colin
deepened the kiss, his tongue prodding the woman’s lips open and exploring the
hot moist cavern of her mouth. Their tongues tangled and one of his hands fell
down to her back, pulling her completely against him.

Colin turned them and pressed the now trembling body against the wall,
swallowing the moan that escaped her delicate throat. He could feel the blood
rushing to his groin and making his cock harden quickly. The tight trousers of
his historical costume were starting to cause him some serious pain. One of his
thighs slipped between hers and pressed against her –erection?

He broke the kiss immediately and stared shocked at the heavily breathing
woman, no man, no woman, damn it! “What the fuck?!”

The dark eyes, glassy with desire just seconds before, sobered at once, fear
creeping up in them. “I meant to tell you, honestly. I …”

“You’ve got a cock!”

The woman-man –or maybe it was a man-women ? –looked apologetically at Colin,
begging for understanding. “The women’s clothes are my Halloween costume. I,
um, my name is Orlando Bloom. I came here to apologise for my friends’
behaviour, for laughing at you.” A hand raked through the silky locks. “They
didn’t know that you thought I was a woman.”

Colin couldn’t believe this. He bee been lusting the whole time after a man. A
fucking gorgeous man at that but never the less, it had been a man. He thought
about anything to call the other, how to insult him but surprisingly he didn’t
care that much about it. Strange enough the little bit of anger he felt slowly
but constantly dissolved, leaving nothing but calmness behind. It was true that
Colin hadn’t expected something remotely like that but then again, maybe he
ought to give it a chance. There were some really convincing arguments just
seconds before, about why pursuing this might be a very good idea after all.
Boy, the kiss just before that had been unbelievable. Was everything else as
intense as kissing?

“I am sorry.” Orlando slowly tried to step away from Colin; afraid the other
might lash out at him any time now. His eyes widened in surprise as the hand
that reached up didn’t beat him but carefully cupped his face.

“You could have told me sooner.” Colin stepped closer to Orlando once
again and his face drew nearer and nearer, stopping shortly before kissing,
their lips not an inch apart. He could feel the other’s erratic breathing and
felt the hot breath ghosting on his lips. Smirking, his other hand reached up
and cupped the other side of the angelic face, his thumb brushing over the
flushed cheek.

“Am I forgiven?” The words were barely heard. Orlando stared hypnotised into
Colin’s dark velvet eyes. His heart speed up and the blood rushed loudly
through his veins in an almost deafening volume.

“That you are.”

A promise for more was sparkling in Colin’s eyes.
