"Father, you wanted to see us." Legolas approached his father with Haldir by his side and he met his sire's challenging look. His father looked furious as it was expected, and Legolas had a very bad feeling that maybe telling his father about Haldir would erupt this volcano that was in the other words called his father's temper.

"Yes, my son. You assumed right. I see that Haldir showed up too and now that you two are here I will start by asking you this question." Thranduil came to Haldir's side and he flashed him an icy glare that could easily freeze the top of the mountain in a mere second or less." Haldir of Lorien." Thranduil paused.
"What were you thinking when you dared to touch my son in a such inappropriate manner and second question goes to you my son. Legolas, how could you bring such shame upon yourself and our house. Do you know what you did. Do you have any idea what this will do to our reputation. You disappointed me, my leaf. You really did." Thranduil said those words in a cold piercing tone and Legolas felt the redness on his face as those hurting syllables were imprinted on his brain.

'Father, I."olasolas took the deep breath to collect himself and he pulled his strength out in the clear, preparing it as his weapon to defend himself. Haldir was quiet as he felt the hard tension in this room, and he knew that this meeting will not end up right.
"Father, pardon my vulgar expression, but I don't give a rats arse about our family honor. How dare you accuse me of being so indiscreet when you mauled me yourself to jump into Glorfindel's bed. Ada, I am not the only one who is rotten tree in this palace. I've found out something which you had kept from me for a month and you made some decisions that affected me and my future greatly ."
Legolas huffed and he crossed his arms over his chest, as he returned his fathers furious expression. Both of them, father and son, looked very much alike standing there and Haldir realized that this indeed will turn out very badly.

'How dare you, you ingrate. You better take back those words or you will be very sorry my son. And what are you talking about. What decision did I make that you didn't like?" Thranduil hissed at his son and Legolas took a step back in the case this turns out to be a violent conversation.

"You never told me about Haldir's marriage proposal. How could you keep something like that from me?"
Legolas asked his father in a softer tone and he wondered what was his father's real reason in keeping this secret from him. Why did he meddle into his life so much? Why did Thranduil think that he knew best for his son?

"Oh, you are mad about that. Well, my son, I can only tell you that it was for your own good. Haldir is not the one for you and by the Valar I tried to protect you from this world, that I got mixed up all in it and I failed you yesterday when you made that bet with Glorfindel. I should have watched you more carefully and I should have prevented the yesterdays happenings on the tournament, but when you made a wage with Glorfindel it was too late. I even tried to persuade Elda not to take his prize and I also offered my entire kingdom to him but he was so stubborn, and in the end I had to let him claiat wat was rightfully his."
Thranduil sighed and he knew that he revealed to much information in those last sentences but he didn't care. All of it was already doomed to happen.
He looked at his son and he promised to himself that he would not fail again to watch over him. His glance switched to the Marchwarden and he almost forgot about that elf who stood there quiet and almost invisible.

"And for you Haldir of Lorien. I have just one more thing to tell you. You are banished from my realm and you are not allowed to come back as long as you live. Guards will escort you to the borders and I expect you to leave in an hour. If you are still here by that time, some dire consequences will befall you. Are we clear."
Thranduil coldly addressed the Marchwarden and Haldir's anger woke up suddenly.
"No, I will not leave Mirkwood. You have no power over me, you pompous idiot. Nothing will take me from your son's side. I am not scared of your ridiculous threats." Haldir yelled at the King and he knew that he had gone too far but he couldn't care less, because Thranduil deserved every word he got.

"What. You dare to defy me. Who do you think you are. I am not your Lady Galadriel or Lord Celeborn who can patently put up with your disobedience. You will not have my son and that is final. He is not your property and if I were you I would be packing while you still have time left in this realm. You try my patience, and that Marchwarden, I have in a small supply. Why would you think that my son would consider you as his mate? You are kidding yourself." Thranduil said that in a cruel aristocratic tone, and Haldir almost wanted to jump and strangle his long neck.

"But I do consider him father. In fact, I want to marry him." Legolas interrupted with the sudden confession that shocked Thranduil to the core, and this time King he turned to his son.

"You must be out of your mind, Legolas. I will not allow this. You will not marry, this ... this ... classless NOBODY. Not as long as I live."
Thranduil stated and he turned to the left side, challenging Haldir in the another cold glare.

"Didn't I tell you to leave? Do you want me to make this easier on you, Haldir." Thranduil hissed again to Haldir's face and Haldir grunted at the foolishness of the King.

"I will not leave. You see unlike you, I love your son. He agreed to marry me, and I will do it with or without your blessing."
Haldir looked at his lovers face and he smiled a little, spreading some comfort in this uncomfortable conversation.

"Father it is not your decision, but mine. I will marry Haldir and nothing you can say will stop me. I made up my mind." Legolas sighed waiting for his fathers predictable reply and he hoped that his father would agree with his decision. But knowing his father it was a very fat chance.

"Then you are out of your damn mind, Legolas. You are mistaken if you think that I will give you two my blessings. In fact I might do something more helpful that will help you clear your mind better." Thranduil sneered and he shifted his gaze toward the door. Legolas knew that something was about to happen by his fathers determinable expression.

"GUAARDS !" He called and in the matter of the second six guards walked inside, their weapons ready in hand. Legolas gulped and he came quickly to Haldir’s side protecting him with this own body.

"Father, don't do this. Please call them off until we talk more reasonably. Don't do this."
Legolas begged his enraged sire but his requests went to deaf ears. When Thranduil made up his mind about something it was really hard to change it. And Legolas knew that his father was already set to do this and he was powerless against this tide that puled him under.

"Seize this person and take him to his quarters so he can pack his things and leave. After that, escort him to the borders and make sure he had left our realm before you get back. Marchwarden is one tricky elf to play with, but maybe now he realizes that he had lost one game he wanted to win the most. Good-bye Haldir of Lorien, and may my eyes never encounter your presence again, and if they do you will end up dead. I swear this on my father's grave." Thranduil knew his son well and he made a move to grab him and hold him back while the guards did their bidding. Haldir regretted leaving his weapons in his chambers, but as he started to move toward his love the guard's sword stopped him on his movement. He raised his hands in the surrender and he locked his gaze with Legolas, who was being held by his father on the other side of the room.
He knew that this doomed separation would happen today and he cursed himself to think otherwise. He wanted to cry but tears were stuck somewhere in the back of his eyes, and this stabbing pain in his chest told him that the heartbreak was so near him and that it would choke him until he drops dead.

"Father, Stop this. Release me. This is ridiculous." Legolas tried to persuade his father to cease his actions but he knew deeply that there was no cure for this moment. He saw the twinge of pain in Haldir's eyes and he struggled more to release himself from the strong grip that kept him away from his beloved. Guards surrounded Haldir and Marchwarden sighed, knowing that this moment was his only chance to speak to the Prince, no matter what that action would cost him in the future.

"Legolas, it is all right. This is not meant to be, after all. I will never forget you, meleth-nin. I love you." He said with almost broken voice but he kept that intruding ache inside, even when he glanced one last time at his lover, knowing that this last memory of that pretty face would keep him going while he takes the road to Lothlorien. And finally when he gets to his home there is nothing left for him than to fade. His faith had already set this for him and he couldn't do nothing to change it.

"Haldir." Legolas called for the Marchwarden but it was too lateauseause guards took him away from the room." Father, let go off me." Legolas struggled but his father wouldn't release him yet. He called for the other two guards that were standing at the other entrance and Legolas looked at his father with the fiery hate he felt at this moment.

"Saer, Telan. Thranduil said the guards names." Take my son to his quarters, but first bound his hands. Hold him in his rooms until I order you to release him." Thranduil handed his son to them and he left the room in the haste, avoiding his sons look and expressions that played on that young face. Legolas felt like a prisoner as his own father ordered his punishment and he wanted to scream his rage out, but he knew nobody would bother to hear him. He was pushed to move forward under the watchful eyes of those two guards, and he knew that he cannot escape this situation, so he kept walking in the direction of his rooms. He cursed his father millions of the times and he knew that his sire had crossed that last line, and that he would have to leave his home after he was released and this ordeal is done. Now more than ever he wanted to be free of his father's charge, and he had a plan to move to Lothlorien in secret and without his father's interference. He only hoped that his father wouldn't predict his plans and ruin them for him. Legolas was pushed inside of his chamber as the other guard untied him, and the doors were closed as soon as he was out of his bounds. He wondered if Haldir was now out of the palace and if he will indeed leave Mirkwood tonight. He hoped that his father would change his mind about this, but he knew that the tough shell that was his father can never be cracked into the pieces. His home felt like the strange place and he knew that he had no say in here. He promised to himself that he would make his father pay for ruining his future plans and he hoped that he would soon meet his lost lover again.

Only Valar knows how happy one can be when his dreams come true and his battles are won. That one person was Erestor who was laying in the bed with his sleepy lover, hugged tightly and without care in this world. But soon that peace was disturbed by the knock on the door and Glorfindel's head snapped forward as his ears got used to this sudden noise.

"Enter." Glorfindel responded, and as the door opened both of Imladris elves were surprised to see Haldir at door with couple of the guards.

"Haldir, what are you doing here." Erestor was the first one to ask that question and Glorfindel arched his brow. Both of them saw Haldir's lost look and both of them realized that something in the Marchwarden's life was amiss.

"Erestor I couldn't find you at your chambers, so I assumed the Glorfindel was the one to know where you are located. My luck was great when I found you here. I am sorry for disturbing you but I just wanted to say good-bye to you and I also wanted to thank you for all the helpful information you have given me yesterday."

"Wait, leave. Why?" Erestor wondered but he knew all the truth lay in those heartbroken eyes.

'I don't have time to explain this ordeal to you, but I can only say to you that I am banished because I love him, very deeply. Maybe I will tell you what happened some other time when you visit Lorien. That is if I survive this."
Haldir's eyes were expressed with unshed tears but proud elf didn't spill them in front of everyone. He kept them hidden, and hidden they would be until the time when he couldn't care anymore.

"We have to go." Saer, the guard from the Haldir's left side whispered and Marchwarden nodded with his head.

"Good-bye Erestor. Maybe if the time is merciful I shall see you again, my friend." Haldir turned around and he left those very confused elves behind and Erestor didn't get a chance to respond to this very weird exchange. Erestor got up from his bed in the search for his clothes and Glorfindel's senses just now woke up from this confusing trance.

"Erestor, what was that all about. What happened to Haldir. Why is he thanking you and why in the name of Valar did king banish him from this realm?" Glorfindel released all these questions at once and Erestor shook his head, not believing that some things can indeed go very wrong.

"I cannot answer you all that in five minutes. I have to get dressed and see what is going on out there. If the things are indeed that bad, I have to do something to help Haldir. If you want to know what is going on get dressed and follow me. Maybe you can help me resolve the situation, no matter how bad it is." Erestor got his clothes on very quickly and he glanced at his lover who got up from his bed too. He hoped that he would give assistance to those young hearts who needed it and that this sudden darkness enveloping their lives would be chased away.
