Chapter 9
Their lips mingled in a passionate dance, pressing and touching, parting and sighing with such fervor that when Haldir finally broke the kiss for a moment to breathe, Sarah’s lips were lusciously swollen and redder in some places than in others. She looked up at him with her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, legs around his waist and gleaming passion shimmering upon her lashes in the forms of tears. Her pale skin was flushed a rosy color. Her breath was heavy and quick.
Her lips met his once more, gently. They moved from his mouth, tracing delicate patterns with fluttering kisses to his chin and over his jaw. Lingering kisses gently sucking at the skin of his neck elicited a moan from his slightly parted lips and the girl in his arms giggled into his ear.
Sarah moved her lips away from his face and met his gaze. Her eyes, green as spring time, filled Haldir’s heart with the strangest, conflicting feelings: this was what he wanted—to know her—and it was what she wanted, but the nagging feeling that he was wrong in his actions was tearing him in two. Sarah must have seen the worry in his eyes, for her happy gaze clouded and her brow knit itself with concern. Without speaking, she loosed her arms from around his neck. Bringing her hands to his face, she rubbed his cheek lightly with one small thumb, while running her fingers comfortingly through his hair, tracing delicate patterns over his brow, touching his lips tenderly until he kissed her fingertip. Sarah reassured him as she kissed his mouth that there was nothing for him to worry over, and he did not have to hear her speak for her message to warm and comfort him.
The feeling of her mouth moving against his caused Haldir to forget his worries momentarily. Her lips parted for him with a sigh as he invaded her mouth, exploring its warmth fully with a hunger that caused him a lustful moan deep from his throat. He was consumed by a need to have her completely, and so overcome with this need was he that it pained him, taking his breath from him. As Sarah moaned into his mouth, pulling his face closer to hers with pale fingers entwined in his hair, Haldir decided that no matter what consequences should befall either of them, he had to have her. This fiery need was evident in Sarah’s every motion, every touch and sigh. “Wait…” He groaned softly, tearing his lips away from her, but nestling his face in her long, black hair. “Wait…” She opened her mouth to protest, but he silenced her with a small, lingering kiss upon the corner of her mouth. “Just a moment, my love…” Haldir smiled coyly. Sarah’s face softened and she nodded slightly, biting her lip gently—in anticipation, no doubt.
Haldir knelt to the ground, keeping Sarah wrapped around him, though her heavy dress billowed around them when he sat with his legs crossed upon the soft, wet grass. Though he had looked away to see what he was doing, his eyes quickly lifted to meet hers again. They glistened as they had before. Her brow was raised slightly in nervousness, and her flushed cheeks glowed in the light of the sun trickling through the golden leaves overhead.
Keeping her eyes locked upon him, Haldir cautiously moved his hands from the soft curves of her sweet face over her shoulders and across her back, tenderly massaging her flesh through the heavy layers of fabric blocking the warm skin from his wide, searching hands. He wanted to feel it and watch it flush beneath his touch. The way she smiled when he touched her led him to believe that she wanted the same.
She kissed his neck twice, resting her head on his shoulder.
Haldir felt the small, round buttons lined up on the back of her dress, though his fingers hesitated there for a moment.
Go no further, warned a voice within him. Go no further.
Sarah lifted her face to look at him, her green eyes wide, her lips smiling faintly to hide her upturned brow. She said nothing, and though Haldir could feel within his belly that he was dancing on dangerous ground, the desire boiling like a fiery storm within him drove him nearly to madness with every breath Sarah took, with every small sound she made as he ran his hands over her clothed form.
Go no further…
The buttons were easily popped open, and Haldir made quick work of unfastening them all down the back of her yellow gown. Sarah closed her eyes and breathed deep before he pulled the shoulders of her dress over her arms, guiding her hands through, kissing her wrists tenderly as each limb was pulled free of the bodice.
He could see the image of her naked body that haunted his mind—generous, pale curves that breathed and blushed beneath the morning’s early light soon would be his to touch and caress, to kiss and fondle. He smiled greedily to himself as she buried her head in his shoulder and twined her fingers through his hair, sighing to herself sweetly. He loved to feel her wrapped so securely around him for he knew that she needed him as greatly as he yearned for her and her need fueled his fire, fanning his pride.
“Do you want me, Sarah?” Haldir heard himself ask, though his voice was low and he knew she would be unable to understand his question.
“Haldir…” He heard her say his name and he groaned, running his hands over her back until he had gathered the fabric of her second chemise enough to lift it over her head. Sarah met his gaze, and with his eyes he told her that she had nothing to fear. The fabric passed over her head and fell to the ground behind her. She looked at him and smiled, kissing his lips with a soft moan, crushing her breasts against his chest wantonly, searching his mouth with her tongue as he smiled and chuckled deep in his throat, wrapping his arms tightly around her.
The girl felt wonderful in his arms, pressed against him with such immense sensual hunger that it was a rival to his own starvation. Haldir’s heart felt like it could swell no more with love for her as he met her ardent kiss and wound his hands into her long, black curls. “Oh… my love…” He whispered, startled to hear himself say those words, but he could think of naught else to say that would begin to relieve the passion welling within him, though he thought he could feel no more than he felt at that moment.

“Lle a mere amin, Sarah?”
His hands were firm and gentle, caressing my skin and setting it on fire! I was so nervous that all I could do was press myself against him harder, hiding my face in his shoulder to smell his sweet, earthy scent and hear every moan and sigh that I knew was for me. I could not get enough of the feel of his hands on my body, and the need for more culminated within me until I thought I would be sick.
“Haldir…” I whispered his name, just to hear it, hoping that he would speak to me more. I knew what we were doing, and I wanted nothing other than to have him wholly and to give myself to him. His hands found their way inside my dress, pulling the fabric of my second chemise around my knees. Oh, god… I lifted my head to look at him, only to see him looking at me. I was dazzled by the light coming out of his eyes as he spoke with a voice that did not part his gentle lips, but told me that everything was going to be fine. I felt him pull the chemise out of my dress, and I lifted my arms as he pulled it off of me entirely. My arms were bare, my undergarments visible, though my yellow gown was still around my waist.
I did not know what else to do, and all I could think about was his kiss, so I wrapped my arms around him slowly, feeling his muscles beneath his woolen tunic. Then, I pressed my lips to his, prying his mouth open to know him as he had known me, enthralled more than I already was by the rest of him at how warm and sweet tasting his mouth was—and I wanted more. His kiss took every worry and fear away from me and warmed me to my soul. I never wanted to leave his arms as they wrapped around my waist.

Galadriel looked on in disbelief as the ripples in the water of her mirror stilled and the glassy surface reflected her own face once more.
“What is it that you see, my love?” Celeborn stood nearby, and at the sound of her husband’s voice, Galadriel turned to look at him, her eyes wide and her jaw set with knowing.
“The girl is a danger, Celeborn…” Her voice passed through her lips in a breathy gasp that struck fear through her husband’s breast. “…and I have seen through the veil of shadow that has kept her secret unknown to us.”
“What danger do you speak of?” Celeborn asked gravely.
“An evil which I do not know and cannot name has brought her to Arda,” Galadriel replied, and with great strain collapsed to her knees. Celeborn rushed to her side, taking her in his arms. “This evil clings to her spirit now, though for reasons unknown has faded tonight, giving me sight to the girl’s mind. Her heart is good, but if this evil is not sent away, she will be claimed fully. And it will touch those whom she deems faithful to her—“ Galadriel’s voice trailed off as Celeborn knit his brow with worry and stroked her back comfortingly.
Suddenly, the lady’s head rose and she pulled away from her husband, tearing at her hair. “Haldir…” She whispered, “…he is in danger… he must not be near her!”
"He shall be found." Celeborn said as he rose to his feet and took Galadriel in his arms, leading her away from her mirror.
