Chapter Nine

A/N: Thanks again Kuragari for commenting I am glad you are still liking this story...

Erestor sit in one of the exquisite, spacious gardens of Ecthelion’s home waiting for the lord of said house to return from his summons before the King. A summons had arrived early that morning for Ecthelion to justify his reasons for having two pets, when the law stated that a Lord could only have one pet at a time. It had weighted heavily on his mind ever since the night that Glorfindel had released him into Ecthelion’s care. What would happen to him now that he was too scarred to be a pet, for who would want him now? He had no skills to make a living on his own and now way to acquire them, he had prayed that he would be allowed to stay as a member of Ecthelion’s house and learn those skills once he had healed enough, but it looked as if that may not be the case.

Glorfindel stood behind the wall that lead into Ecthelion’s garden watching Erestor as his thoughts took him to a place none could follow. He had also received a summons from the King to explain why he had turn over ownership of his pet to Ecthelion. He could not tell the real reason, that he could not let his love for him show, not when everything he had ever loved was now gone. It was best to not love anymore, then to love and be hurt in the end, but he had failed and hurt the on being that he loved more then anyone. Would he ever forgive him? The King had now giving him the opportunity to try. Ecthelion and he had a choice, either Erestor was returned to him, or he was to be sent to a pet house. Glorfindel shivered at the thought of his beloved pet being in such a place. He had never been in one, but he had heard of them. They were a place were any could come and do anything the so wished to a pet. Many never lasted a full week. No, that was not were he would be going. He would be returning to his house, but as he was his to do with as he pleased Glorfindel had decided to make him a scribe. He would be safe there.

Glorfindel walked into the garden, walking up to Erestor he spoke as not to frighten the abused elf, “Erestor?” As the dark brown eyes the loved so much looked up at him he fall to his knees begging the elf before him to forgive him for all he had done.

Erestor did not know what to think here was the Lord of a great house, on his knees with his head in his lap crying like a newborn elfling, begging for his forgiveness. Forgiveness that he did not know if he could give, forgiveness that for his sake he had too.

From a window above the garden Lindir stood with the arms of his master and lover around him, watching the incidence down below with both hope and fear, hope that the healing had finally begun, and fear that a repeat of the pain would happen again.
