Elladan gazed at his father in disbelief. He did not know why he did not care about Legolas, all he knew was that they loved each other so much, and now he felt confused about their love.
It seemed to Elladan that his father cared no more for his lover, no matter where he last left him; the love was gone from them.
It hurt Elladan to see it, and he decided to take action, and reunite them, because they needed each other. Elladan could see the pain in his Adar’s eyes, and it pained him to see him hurt. He missed seeing the love that sparkled, and he wished to see it again.
“Adar, show me exactly where you left him!” Elladan asked, though to his father it was like an order, and yet, Elrond said nothing.
Elladan let his father lead the way, knowing that it was a start.
Elladan also knew that he would need the help of his brothers and most of all of Arwen, as she knew how to make her father plead to the one that he loved.
Elladan thoughts were soon covered with Legolas’ image. He remembered his reasons why he saved their kingdom and he blamed himself. Now Elladan thought that Legolas blamed himself for Elrond’s words to him, knowing that he hurt him.
“Adar,” Elladan called, “You will be together, it will be one step at a time. Do not worry…”
“But I am ion-nin, and this is definitely not the first time. It pained me so much that I could swear that my heart was close to breaking.” Elrond answered in turn, and Elladan noticed the pain, although that his father tried to hide so hard.
“How much do you love him, Ada? What would you do to win him back?” Elladan asked.
“I will do anything. I will give him everything, till I will die.” Elrond answered with tears in his eyes.
“Then father,” Elladan said in assurance, “Never give up on his love and yours. You are meant to be together; your love is strong, and your heart is like a silver glass, as you love each other till the heart is breaking for the love that lost.”
“What should I do then? He shoves me off…” Elrond confessed and hide his face in his hands.
“Apologized to him, care for him, and do not give up on him. You have to show him that you still love him.” Elladan answered and glared at his father.
“Go with me, ion-nin, I need your confidence to help me with Legolas.” Elrond said and glared at his son.
“I will do anything to see you together, Adar; I will not give up on you.” Elladan said with confidence.
“Then please, ion, help me with him… he felt guilty enough from breaking his promise to me… and it is killing me to see him like this… I cannot take it anymore…” Elrond confessed, and covered his face by his hands, and let himself cry.
Elladan knelt by his father; he hugged him and said comforting words to him.
“Show me… Adar…” Elladan requested knowing that they already lost a precious time.
Elrond walked into the forest and then he looked up at several trees, sensing his lover’s presence. He could also smell the scent of his lover, “He is up the tree,” he mentioned over his son.
“Come with me, Adar,” Elladan asked and then he started to climb up the tree, hoping to see his Adar follow his step, and yet he did not see him.
Elladan looked up the tree and noticed Legolas’ slumped body over the trunk; ‘Was he crying?’ he asked himself, hope that Legolas is well.
“Prince Legolas?” Elladan asked with shaken voice, not knowing if Legolas did hear him or not.
“Go away!” Legolas demanded, daring not to see whoever talk to him, as he felt that he need to be alone with nature where he felt needed and comforted.
