A/N: Well, dear readers, this is it. The End. Thank you all for your reviews, your thoughts and input. Honestly, I could not have done it without your encouragement. Of course, HE thanks you as well – I know he would if he weren’t so darn petulant. Your squeals of delight at his wickedness have given him quite the thrill, I can assure you. If only I could capture his smug grin on camera I’d post it for everyone to see!

I’m very glad you have enjoyed this even if you did not agree with the actions some of the individuals took. That makes the story all the more compelling and believable.

Thank you again for your kind words. I do appreciate it. Now it is time for me to enjoy reading YOUR stories now that I have come to the end of this tale.

Haldir watched as Annowe lay curled sleeping in his embrace, her head resting on his arm.

Tenderly he stroked her drying curls. She was warm and soft next to him, her breathing deep and rhythmic. He could have watched her sleep forever. And yet he knew she would not. Soon she would awaken again and with her, his desire.

But now there was no rush, no hurry to wake her, no need to go anywhere. They could lie on this beach until the sun ceased to rise or set.

She had chosen to be with him and leave Legolas behind but Haldir understood that the noble Prince of Mirkwood would always have a place in her heart and he could not hold that against her.

No, if anything Haldir grudgingly admired Legolas’ conviction to follow his quest through to the bitter end despite knowing the consequences. Could he have done the same had he been in that situation?

He sighed heavily and ran his fingers down Annowe’s spine. She had shown him everything Galadriel had shown her. He needed to know what Legolas had endured for all of them. Haldir certainly did not believe the young prince could be so steadfast or brave. How utterly mistaken he had been.

It seemed it had been quite misguided about many things – Annowe’s feelings for him, her feelings for Legolas, his own feelings for her and Legolas. It had all been so confusing.

Now that he understood why Legolas had left him at Helm’s Deep and why Annowe had come for him, he actually looked forward to the day Legolas arrived in Valinor. And he would. Eventually all of the elves in middle earth would return to Valinor now that The Ring was destroyed.

Perhaps once Legolas joined them, the three of them could have another “talk” like they had in Lorien so long ago. Haldir smiled at the thought. Yes, that would be very nice. Very nice indeed.
