Chapter Eight

The party from Mirkwood made their way to Imladris at a vigorous pace, stopping only briefly to let their horses rest.

“We have rested long enough,” the leader said. “We can make it by night fall if we leave now.”

Elladan was warm. Warmer than he had been in a very long time. He burrowed deeper into the covers and the body resting against him and tried to let sleep overtake him again. It was not to be, memories of Legolas danced through his mind and he frowned, he could even smell the prince.

“Legolas,” he said, quietly, tears pooling in his eyes.

“I am here, meleth,” a voice from behind him spoke.

The arms holding him held him even tighter for a moment and he felt a soft kiss on his brow. His heart was nearly beating out of his chest, but he did not turn over.

“Have you come to take me to Mandos to be with you at last,” he asked, hoping this wasn’t some cruel trick his mind was playing on him.

“Elladan, I am not dead nor have I ever been,” Legolas said, gently. “It was my brother, Mebedir, who perished in the orc attack.”

Elrond’s eldest could not resist any longer and with his heart full of hope he turned over to find his beloved looking back at him with bright cerulean eyes.

“Tell me this is not a dream, tell me I am not so far gone in grief that I am hallucinating,” his tears were running down his cheeks now and he could not stop them.

“I am as real as you are, lirimaer,” Legolas told him, wiping the tears away with his thumbs. “You are not dreaming or seeing things. I arrived from Mirkwood not long ago. I spoke to your family and my father, they told me what happened. If I had known what you were going through, I would not have delayed my trip.”

Elladan was quick to move back into Legolas’ arms. “Melin chen, ernilen,” he said before plying his mouth with a breath claiming kiss.

The prince returned the kiss with much enthusiasm, savoring the taste of his beloved’s mouth. The need for air forced them apart and the twin rested his head on Legolas’ chest.

“Melin chen, Elladan,” he said, softly. “Always.”

He smoothed the hair out of the twin’s eyes and found him sleeping peacefully.

The Next Morning

Elladan’s first thought when he awakened was about the wonderful dream he thought he had. He lifted his head to find that Legolas was still with him and it hadn’t been a dream after all.

“I thought you would sleep until the noon hour,” Legolas said, teasing him.

“How could I sleep,” he asked, grinning. “There is so much to do, so much I want to tell you.”

“Don’t you think we should take things slowly, you need to heal and I will not have you wearing yourself out.” The prince smiled at the pout that appeared on the twin’s face. “We have all of eternity, ind nin, to catch up.”

“I feel stronger already, having you near me has helped a great deal,” he protested. “Did you just….Did you say all of eternity? Do you mean…?”

“Aye, I did,” Legolas said, smiling at the usually unflappable Elladan. “If you will have me, I would see us bound next year at this time.”

“Ai, I will have you, prince of Mirkwood,” he said, grinning evilly. “I will have you many times between now and then.”

Legolas’ chuckle was cut off by a ravenous kiss, a kiss he welcomed and deepened. His hands found their way down Elladan’s back as the elf warrior moved to settle between his legs.

When their arousal’s met through their sleep pants moans of need filled the room. Hands moved to rid the other of the barrier separating them from feeling flesh against flesh. Kisses became more heated and touched more intimate once they were rid of their pants.

“Are you two….Ai, excuse me,” Elrohir said turning his back.

Elladan quickly covered them and growled at his twin. “Don’t you ever knock?”

Legolas hid his face in his beloved’s hair, embarrassed to have been caught in such a situation.

“I did not think you would be engaged in such activity,” the younger twin said in his own defense.

“You could still knock, Elrohir,” he said, calming down a little. “What is it you want?”

“Actually, Thranduil and father would like to see you both in his office as soon as you can get there,” he replied, sighing. “I am really sorry, toren.”

“Tell them we will be there as soon as we bathe and Elrohir,” he said, gently.

“Yes?”

“Please knock from now on,” he said as a reminder.

“I will, brother, good bye, Legolas,” he said, snickering, on his way out.
