Chapter 10
When we exited I was ushered into a wheelchair to make maneuvering through the airport easier. When we made it past the security, I felt Elijah lean down and put his face next to mine. "You okay?"
I nodded and reached behind to tap one of his hands that were guiding me through the crowd. I scanned the sea of faces looking for the friends that were supposed to be meeting us here. I wasn't disappointed. I could see two men standing by the baggage claim, one very obviously trying to keep a low profile, the other wildly trying to get our attention. I wasn't surprised to see it was Dom who was madly waving his arms. I almost died when I saw he was holding a sign that said "Sarah Lewis" on it. Almost similar to a driver would...though his attitude was far from professional. When they finally spotted us Dom and Billy walked over to meet us halfway. Dom immediately sat on my lap and gave me a kiss on the cheek. "'Ello Luv! Welcome to New Zealand!"
"Hello Dominic. Um...thank you." I was quite surprised by Dom’s greeting, but then again I wasn't. He was exactly as I had imagined him.
"Oh fair lady! Please, just Dom! I'm way to young and handsome to be called Dominic just yet." He grinned and wiggled his eyebrows making me blush.
Billy however simply reached around and kissed the hand I had extended to shake his own. "'Tis a pleasure lass. Elijah's hired goon of a driver picked a good one to knock into his arms, didn't he Dom?" He grinned at Elijah and Dom nodded solemnly from my lap.
I looked up to see Elijah slightly smiling, he was unsuccessful at pretending to be mad with these two. He leaned down and whispered in my ear, but loud enough for them to hear, "I was after your dog. She's way to cute to not be with me."
I laughed. "Well that doesn't surprise me, Elijah and his bitches." I rolled my eyes and turned my attention to the laughing Dom, "So are you going to remove yourself from my lap so we may continue on our way?"
He laughed and wrapped his arms around me and leaned his head on my shoulder, "No...I'm pretty good here darling, but thanks for the offer."
"Uh-huh...I see...well then..." I grinned and looked up at Elijah who nodded slightly, already thinking what I was thinking. I reached down and pinched Dom hard on his bottom.
Dom, not expecting it, instead of getting up, fell with out any grace at all onto the floor of the airport. Billy laughed loudly, forgetting his earlier caution, and helped him off the floor. "She got ye good mate!"
Dom grinned cheekily at me, "Going to get ya back you know that right?" He laughed and pointed in the air with a finger, "Let the war begin."
Elijah rolled his eyes laughing, remembering the days of "war" on the LOTR set. "Come on guys...we gotta get our luggage before they stick it somewhere and forget about it."
Dom in the meantime had switched places with Elijah, and I hadn't even noticed until I suddenly jerked forward as Dom pretended to start to run. Elijah took back control though before Dom could really do anything. But I could tell that our childish antics would continue for a while. Billy fell into step with me while Dom ran a head to make sure the luggage was still circulating. "He likes you lass, so don't think he's being mean or anything...just think of him as a big loud two year old." He laughed, "Though...because you're a lass...he'll probably get Elijah instead."
I laughed and looked up into his face, "Sorry hun."
I didn't see Billy's upraised eyebrow at my use of the word "hun". But I did see Elijah's cheeky grin in his direction. I laughed and shook my head...thinking I was in for a long three weeks.
