Stronger Then Yesterday
(Final Chapter guys! Please review, so I know whether I should post another story on here or not! Flames are welcome, if that's how you feel!)
"Or-Orlando... Orlando, I-I can't..." She trailed off helplessly. "I can't."
He pounded his fist on the bed, making her flinch and curl away from him, her eyes widening slightly.
"Why not?" He demanded. "Why the fuck not?"
Rian looked at him, into his chocolate eyes, placing her tiny, bandaged hands on one of his large ones.
"Because," Rian lifted one hand and gestured to herself. "look at what you've done to me, Orlando. Just look."
She could feel her anger turning into exhaustedness.
"Look at what you did to me, Orli. It's been bad before..." She paused hesitantly, "But you didn't care this time. You wanted to hurt me and you wanted to hurt me badly." She sank back against the pillows, turning her head away from him. "I can't marry you, because you don't really love me."
She felt his hand leave the bed, and she was sure he would hit her. Instead, he grabbed her chin and yanked her head around to meet his gaze.
"Orlando, don't." She pulled on his hand, loosening it and trying to pull it from her face. "I'm done. I'm just done, I can't do this anymore, you know I can't."
His hand left her chin and he stood up, his face tightly set, his jaw clenched and his eyes burning. Without a word, he walked out of the door and out of her life before she could even blink.
And she was tired...Just tired.

Elijah wrapped his arms around Rian's waist, kissing her neck gently.
"You sure you want to do this alone?" He asked, looking up at the large mansion with the uneasy expression he often carried whenever he was reminded of his former friend. "I can come with you, it'd be safer, at least."
"No Lij, I need to do it alone." She turned in his arms and placed a long, lingering kiss on his lips, reassuringly. "I'll meet you later tonight, and I'll be okay. I promise." She gave him one more kiss and shooed him back to his car, watching as he pulled away and slowly drive down the street.
Rian climbed carefully up the familiar steps, breathing in the scent of flowers, the flowers she'd planted. She felt a tiny pang of fear and she almost turned around and fled, realizing how stupid it was to come here alone.
But when the door opened, she was startled to find not Orlando, but a girl. A young girl, maybe a little younger then her, decidedly gorgeous, if not for the large, red handprint marring one white cheek, and a littering of black and blue marks along her arms.
"Oh my god..." Rian breathed, reaching out to touch the girl. "Are you okay?"
The girl didn't answer, just pulled away from Rian's touch and turn to yell up the stairs,
"Orli!"
And there he was. Coming down the stairs looking as gorgeous and composed as ever, as if he hadn't just slapped his girlfriend.
"What are you doing Alex! Get upstairs right now!" The girl flinched, gave Rian a fleeting look and turned on her heel, scurrying up the stairs.
"What are you doing here?" Orlando stood in the doorway, towering over her with his arms crossed over his chest, a look of utter confusion and anger crossing his face.
"I see you found yourself a new punching bag." She was surprised how cool her voice sounded in his presence, and how his fists tightened in response to the comment.
"What are you doing here?" He repeated, a little louder, as though he hadn't heard the jab.
"I want my clothes back, and my pictures, and my stuff." He smirked slightly, an eyebrow raised.
"Should've thought about that before you turned me down, Ri." He began to shut the door, but she stuck her foot out, stopping it.
"I'm not kidding Orlando." He pulled his hand back, swinging it inches from her cheek before she caught his wrist, the cool look still on her face.
"Wouldn't try that darling, I'm not a scared, little girl anymore." She crooned. "Just get my stuff."
He slammed the door in her face, but she didn't care. She had stood up to him, and that's all that mattered.
He couldn't hurt her anymore.
